kc_134 Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 Hi everyone, I am new here! I got my nose done a couple years ago, and while it is okay, I am not 100% satisfied with it. I'm thinking about either using my summer or winter break from college to go to Korea for 3-4 weeks to go get everything done. By everything, I mean my revision rhinoplasty, my breast augmentation, and my eye surgery as well. I don't believe I'll be needing a blepharoplasty, but perhaps a lateral canthopexy. I've been on this forum but I've been really overwhelmed by the options. I believe I have narrowed down my clinic choices to: GNG (Revision Rhinoplasty), and maybe marble or opera for eyes and breasts. Can you all please give me your input with these clinics, or perhaps even give me any more suggestions on where to go? And, is it possible to do all of these surgeries at different clinics within the 3-4 week time span? I think I read somewhere that a woman went to Korea and she stayed in this AirBnB where the tenant's family was full of doctors and he basically advocated her for her entire trip to different clinics. Is there any way I could get that information? Thanks everyone! Also, could you give me the typical prices for each surgery so I know what to expect? And perhaps some before and afters of your own personal surgeries? Thank you!
greentoast55 Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 I liked the thread and b/a photos in this thread, Recovery: 1, 2-3, 6, 10th months from 'BA,Eyes,Nose,Facial Contouring' If you are considering opera, this will be helpful. I got quoted 9 krw mill for breast implant revision.
min0206 Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 How about Shimmian Rhinoplasty Clinic in Korea? I also searched for nose revision and some people say Dr.Jung is quite good at it.
csolare Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 Yes it's possible, you just need to strategically schedule your surgery dates. GNG is great for revision rhinoplasty imo. ENT surgeons + good aesthetic understanding means that your nose is in good hands and you're not really in danger of nasal obstruction/breathing issues afterward. The surgeons have 10-13 years of revision experience. I'm scheduled for rhino and other procedures with them in April (including a consultation for lateral canthoplasty) so I'll let you know updates if you pm me and keep in contact! Opera looks pretty good for eyes and I wanted to get a consult with them as well. Though, the doctor I liked left so I'll have to see what their recent b/a's look like when I get there since they have 3 eye surgeons. They were adamant in checking with GNG to see if it was ok for me to get my eyes done the day before rhino like I planned, so while I appreciated that sentiment/concern, I have yet to book a consultation yet haha. By the way, fyi it's usually totally ok if you don't take painkillers afterward ^^ They have a promotion rn and they gave me the discounted price straight up but usually breast augmentation is around 6-8k USD and they're popular locally and foreigner wise for breasts: Round Textured Implants : USD 7.000 discounted to USD 5.200 Tear-Drop or Round Micro-Textured Implants : USD 8.000 discounted to USD 6.000 is what they sent me. The discount is nice! Not sure if it's still valid as this was a couple of weeks ago. Eyes at opera are pretty cheap and range from 1,000,000-2,000,000 won depending on what you need. Ptosis is always expensive so if you're not doing that you'll be fine. Lateral anything (canthoplasty/lower cantho) is around 600,000 won when COMBINED with another eye procedure. Might be a tad more expensive otherwise but it's not common to just do lateral. That host would be the ever so popular Tony (links available on PF somewhere haha) who would be kind enough to take you everywhere and accommodate you on the premise of being a medical tourism host. He'll help you negotiate if you want. I was determined to book with him just out of the freebies/negotiation potential but ending up booking with a normal airbnb host and just let them know that I wanted extra pillows/some help with groceries while recovering lol. Airbnb hosts in general are very helpful. I can bargain on my own and most hospitals have in house translators so I'm not that concerned. Don't feel pressured to only book with a medical tourist type of host! I haven't heard much about marble for breasts but their eye surgery is pricier through online consultation. Without discount it can be 2-3,000,000 won. Depends! Feel free to pm me if you wish ^^
csolare Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 They're not super known for rhino and I personally don't love their results but there are definitely tons of people who are happy with their results ^^ I'd have to look into the surgeons who are currently there to give you a definite response (Opera doesn't really advertise the names of the surgeons online, but rather in person.) I responded to your other quote post with my take on getting all three at once but if you're dead set on it those are the clinics I know of. Marble is also an option but I doubt they have much experience with foreign faces. I'd look into GNG if you're not of east/southeast asian descent ^^
eurasianbeauty Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 Opera does very good eyes but their noses are meh. Locals get amazing prices so cost isn't always a barometer of talent.
csolare Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 Opera's been good in reputation as of recently, the only recent they were "blacklisted" a while back was because they had sensational advertisements I believe? Their doctors are all certified and fine though! Their eyes and breasts are nice, and mediocre with other things. Price isn't really a proper indicator of talent, but there are tons of things that may factor into cost. Disregarding the fact that we're foreigners and may be upcharged a lot, we have to take into account the surgeon (head versus otherwise,) season, material used, services offered, etc...If it's alarmingly cheap that either means you found a super local clinic that doesn't really deal with non-koreans regularly or it's just a red flag haha. Opera has pretty average prices so I'ld look into it if you're interested but keep an eye open for other rhino clinics. Marble uses consulting services so they're taking care of multiple clinics at a time. I recommend contacting them on line and messaging them about when they open so you're one of the earlier notifications, 9-10 am kst.
min0206 Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 yes they have. They also have chinese translator. I saw their homepage translated into 7 language. Maybe many foreign patients visit there.
tsbartels Posted March 27, 2018 Posted March 27, 2018 If you search for Shimmian on this forum you will be able to find many experiences that have been shared by others on this forum who have been there.
lisocka Posted May 25, 2018 Posted May 25, 2018 People please just DONT go to SHIMMIAN MANILA DR.LEVI LANSANGAN,HE IS THE WORSE! for your own sake if you dont want to end up with destroyed face.. I have lots of regrets that I chosen this doctor. From beeing late for surgery, rushing me then in consultation room,up to results I got. He destroyed my nose and eyes. My nose he put up,I already had high european nose, but he projected it even more higher without any sense of beauty and made my nose looks piggy..I asked him to make my nose straigh but he didnt, bridge was worse then before surgery. Totally doesnt have sense of symmetry. In symmetry is beauty, but he doesnt understand this.I am currently looking for somebody who can fix all the damage. This doctor and his nurses will push you for other surgeries even you dont need that. I wish I could have my face before. He said I need blepharosplasty and my eyes will look younger.Lies,he did surgery in rush and my eyes are destroyed with hollow look which makes me 20 years older. He doesnt care about how you gonna look,,otherwise he would spent more time with customer. I witnessed how he doing surgery while I was in care of nurses for cleaning wounds,he was signing the song while operating , his words was Hurry Hurry quick quick, you can check his FB website under one pic he write same words...I learned my lesson..when I complained and ask for revision he called me old and was very rude..you certainly dont want such person to operate you. This doctor is not board certified..Please avoid.he is poor minded person who goes only for money, once surgery goes wrong he will ignore you and stop reply...You sure dont want this.I am left with danaged face, horrible looking nose and eye which is going worse everyday with pulling ain and nobody is willing to fix it.i guess its impossible.....
