kc_134 Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 Where can I find more information about available clinics in Korea for surgery? Can you guys comment below what clinics out there are reputable and specialize in certain areas, whether it be eyes, BA, face contouring, nose? So far I only know GNG specializes in nose but I definitely want to do research more on Breast Augmentation and Lateral Canthopexy, I just don't know what clinics to look up.
perceval Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 EverM - Specializes in dental work like 2-jaw, but they are expensive. The Face Dental - Same thing but they're also good with facial contouring. View - Facial contouring. Teuim - I think they're good for eye work. However, they are expensive (correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not too sure). That's all I remember. I'll put more down if I find any more.
apskdlgdl Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 I heard GNG is specialized in nose job and View is popular as FC and BA
jade-stone08 Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 I got lipo and BBL at Fresh and I really like my new waist! Fresh is really good at fat grafting and liposuction. I had 365mc and Fresh on my list but I chose Fresh bc of BBL
cuteturtle Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 I did my nose at April31 and they do specialize in rhino and revision rhino and their results are very natural, so if you like Barbie sharp noses you might want to look elsewhere, but if you want 'your nose but better' kind of improvement, they're really great. it doesn't look 'fake' and super shiny where you can see the lines of the implant. I also did FC and BA there and I love my results They're not really well known for FC but I wanted very natural results and I liked their FC pictures so I wanted to do it there. I think Banobagi is well known for FC if you wanna try? but I don't like super egg shaped faces so for me it wasn't an option. Dream also came out with 'Berry line' facial contouring, which I think is kinda new? For breast, Ruby PS results are also very pretty, but I did mine at the same place because you get a good discount and i don't regret it, it looks great. For eyes, I think Dream is good, at least based on their B/A pictures?
qq12 Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 TL,View - Facial contouring GNG, Banobagi - Rhinoplasty
lemmetellu Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 Well, I can tell you what eyes clinics are famous as a Korean. DES: Dream Shinseung (natural eyes) Ive (natural eyes) Banobagi Gangnam June (natural eyes) There's more, but I might just put it down in a separate post. Revisional DES: Shinseung Ive These two places I know for sure are known for revisional DES on Korean blogs. They come up A LOT as places where lots of celebs go as well (but this isn't verified since these clinics don't mention the celebs in their promo material- the only verified celeb is Amy at Shinseung, who mentioned it in an interview).
fh1fk23 Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 F/C : TL View DA Rhino : ASPS GNG Banobagi Heard that these clinics are famous among locals
soolee Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 From what I know, Fresh does not have a certified plastic surgeon
yiseul Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 Oh really? Then why they’re so expensive? Evita is same, but their price is almost half compared to Fresh. I put Fresh in my liposuction short list. If what you’re saying us true I should take them off the list.
soolee Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 I cannot comment on their price but it is true based on their clinic name in Korean. There are regulations in Korea in terms of naming plastic surgery clinics depending on whether they are certified or not. It is not illegal for uncertified plastic sergeons to do practices as long as they disclose it. But I do know they are frequently mentioned among Koreans for fat grafting.
yiseul Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 Okay, got that. Yeah, they were mentioned a lot for fat grafting in here too. Some of the members said they are really good at face lipo so I made them to my short list. I need forehead lipo, yeah I know it sounds odd but it happened that way because of botched forehead fat graft. Now I have several fat lumps on my forehead and it looks like oldtime washing board xD. Since forehead has a little fat, I need really experienced surgeon on my case. If you have any idea please share.
kc_134 Posted February 23, 2018 Author Posted February 23, 2018 I can't give you any clinic recommendations, but here are some tips to make sure your surgeon is skilled and highly qualified. 1) If you can, look for a clinic that specializes in one or a few things. Clinics that do a bunch of surgeries tend to have mixed reviews, or at least one or few procedures are highly regarded and the rest that they offer are lackluster. 2) Your surgeon should be board certified in PLASTIC SURGERY. https://www.ciaobellamedicalspa.com/surgeons-scottsdale/ The link I provided is a really good example of knowing how to filter out a qualified plastic surgeon. As you can see, Dr. Zavala is the Medical Director of the clinic, but check out his credentials. He's board certified, yes, but board certified in what? He's board certified in Internal Medicine, not plastic surgeon -- HUGE difference. Dr. Gonzalez in the middle is a board-certified plastic surgeon, therefore he's allowed by law to call himself a cosmetic surgeon / plastic surgeon. There was a Korean clinic that was very well regarded throughout PF, but when I went to check the credentials, one of the surgeon was a freaking OB/GYN. Are you kidding me? How safe would you feel if a doctor who specialized in OB/GYN operated on your nose or your tummy tuck?I totally forgot the clinic name but if I remember it eventually, I'll post the link here. Now, in Korea, I notice that most surgeons aren't board certified in plastic surgery. There are few, like Dr. Park at Park Breast Aesthetics Clinic, but perhaps in Korea it's not regarded as highly, but I'm not sure about the accuracy. You can tell when someone is board certified in plastic surgery when their credentials list them as so, or if they are a member of the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) in which it's a certification that a plastic surgeon can have to show they're credible and competent by passing rigorous written and oral tests. Don't confuse ABPS with American Society of Plastic Surgeons, that's just like a group or a society that adds to a surgeon's resume but doesn't provide any certifications. I read a document published by the Korean government that in Korea, you're only allowed to use the word "Plastic Surgery" in your clinic name if in fact, your surgeons are true plastic surgeons. For example, If I were a family physician performing cosmetic surgery at a clinic, I cannot name my clinic "KC Plastic Surgery," it'll have to be without "plastic surgery." Also, be well aware of the doctors' credentials as well, because just like in America, you're not allowed to say you're a plastic surgeon unless you've met the qualifications. That's all I know so far, but just look out for those. 3) Lastly, I would say to check if your surgeon specializes in one area. For example, Kim's Eye Hospital in Korea specializes in the eye as a whole, but has different departments in the clinic focusing on a certain area or concern of the eye. If you click on a center like oculoplasty and look at Dr. Jae Woo Jang's credentials, he specializes in the opthalmic and reconstructive surgery, which is an extremely good sign since specialization typically requires doing a fellowship after your residency, which takes a couple years to complete. Hopefully this helps you in search of an ethical clinic!
yiseul Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 Thank you so much. Your post was really helpful. I knew specialization would make the clinic better since they’re only doing one job. But your detailed explanation made me clear how to search or evaluate (personal evaluation of course) the clinics. Thank you again!
kc_134 Posted February 23, 2018 Author Posted February 23, 2018 My pleasure! I hate when we hear stories of botched surgeries. everyone should be more informed, but I do admit the information out there is so overwhelming and confusing for some.
