Thank you for the quick reply. I will seek it out while I am in Seoul. If that will work then I won't have the scar cut out.

I read up on it and it seems it can cause more issues like more unevenness, lumps and bumps. I haven't read about it in Korea, so I need to do that. But the results here in the US aren't that great.

Where is the scar and what was it from? Is it keloid or hypertrophic scar? f you are prone to keloid scarring, I think there is risk of it forming again if you cut it out. If you get kenalog injection, make sure to verify the concentration they are using isn't too strong and they don't over-inject so it spreads to surrounding tissue as you only want the scar to shrink, fat atrophy from it can be side effect if they use too much.

There's a recent alternative mentioned by realself docs to kenalog only injections to minimize effects of steroids and to leverage on the keloid / hypertrophic scar treatment. "5fu" with some kenalog - off label usage of 5fu though. Haven't tried it but will be asking my local derm and physician about it. Seems worth a look if you are concerned about kenalog.

Good tip, I thought 5fu was just another steroid to shrink scars like cortisone and kenalog, didn't know it had a lower incidence of fat atrophy. Where ever you get it done, I would recommend doing multiple treatments over time as opposed to trying to flatten it in one injection.

It's a keloid because the doctor was a butcher. I've had plenty of surgeries and this is my one and only keloid. I tend to heal very nicely.

Thank you for the warning. I would prefer for it to be cut out altogether. But I was considering other options.
