caligirlaccent Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 Hi everyone! I just joined this forum yesterday because I realized that it’s so hard to get information about plastic surgeons in Korea, being a non-Korean living across the world. I’ve learned from reading discussions on this forum that you can’t trust medical agencies 100% since they’re on the payroll for certain clinics. So, I’d love to get some advice from all of you here! I’m from Los Angeles and I initially put down a deposit to get rhinoplasty done by Dr. Donald Yoo here in Beverly Hills, but I was told by a friend who knows him that I’m going to get a very “typical American” nose - you can see his work on his Instagram (@drdonyoo). I’m 100% Asian, so I really want a natural-looking nose (just taller, slightly longer and more defined) think Song Hye Kyo. Unfortunately, after interviewing dozens of PS in L.A., he’s really the best in town for Asian rhinoplasty. My friend got her boobs done in Korea through Eunogo and highly recommended them, so I decided to venture to Seoul for doctors who would be familiar with faces like mine. Eunogo initially suggested Banobagi, O & Young, as well as Ruby for rhinoplasty. To be honest with you, I didn’t like any of their work except for Ruby’s Dr. Hu. But after reading tons of bad reviews for Ruby, I got scared and started doing research on my own. Another friend of mine who lives in Korea suggested for me to look at JW and Gyalumhan - I saw their B&As and really like both Dr. Suh and Dr. Ahn’s work. I thought JW looked promising, but again I saw the scandal on this forum so now I don’t know what to think of them. Besides these 2 doctors, I’m also really interested in Dream’s Dr. Park. *Between JW’s Dr. Suh, Gyalumhan’s Dr. Ahn, and Dream’s Dr. Park, who would you guys recommend? Anyone have any experience with any of these clinics? Who do you think is the best Dr. for rhinoplasty in Korea? (Price isn’t an issue...I’d rather not screw up my face halfway across the world lol) THANK YOU SO SO MUCH! Any advice or insight is greatly appreciated.
prettyliars Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 I I don't know what happened to my reply..it didn't show the separate line of what I wrote. Pls read all the way to the bottom of your original post
caligirlaccent Posted February 24, 2018 Author Posted February 24, 2018 Hi Prettyliars, I tried expanding all the posts but couldn’t see your reply do you mind posting again?
prettyliars Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 I went to Dream and not happy with my nose. Dr. Park style is too piggy kind of nose and my is not 100% symmetrical. But if you like a natural nose, not a dramatic change you can check his b&a photos to see if you like that style. Pls be careful with the word" natural " ..sometime it also means " not enough improvement ". You go through so much discomforts, anxiety, fear, stress for a surgery so at least you want to see more beautiful nose ..not just a natural but not mucb different than the old nose..the cost of the surgery is one thing but all other expensives were 3 times the price of the surgery..at least for me cuz I stayed 1 month in Seoul in a hotel. Hope it helps
caligirlaccent Posted February 24, 2018 Author Posted February 24, 2018 Thank you for sharing Prettyliars! So sorry you’re not happy with Dr. Park’s work... I want to avoid the “piggy style” as well. Did you get a revision rhinoplasty?
prettyliars Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 Yes..I'm planning to go this year. When do you plan to go ?
caligirlaccent Posted February 24, 2018 Author Posted February 24, 2018 I will be in Seoul for the surgery end of March. What other clinics/doctors are you considering for your revision rhino?
hohohalmoni Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 Dream is mostly famous for Dr. Park's closed rhinoplasty, but I would recommend Dr. Jeong, the open rhinoplasty specialist instead. I had my nose done with him and I've heard a lot of compliments after it. My original nose was very low, short, bulbous, and upturned, so he used a silicon implant to elevate the bridge, and combined lateral osteotomy, septal extension graft, and alar base reduction. Now it looks much more balanced and it doesn't look piggy-like at all.
mocamimi Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 Hyundai aesthetics' specialist also good at rhinoplasty and lip surgery.https://www.facebook.com/hyundaiaesthetics
caligirlaccent Posted February 27, 2018 Author Posted February 27, 2018 Thank you hohohalmoni! Although tbh I’m starting to have second thoughts about Dream. I read in another thread that Dream is super crowded and this girl was basically forced to get her rhino done by Dr. Jeong because they wouldn’t let her see Dr. Park... I think I prefer to go somewhere a bit smaller where I’ll get personalized attention. Glad to hear that you love your nose!
caligirlaccent Posted February 27, 2018 Author Posted February 27, 2018 Thanks mocamimi, I’ll check them out!
monimoni Posted March 12, 2018 Posted March 12, 2018 Hi Hohohalmoni! I'm thinking about going to Dr. Jeong also, and they recommended me the same procedure. I was wondering if you'd be comfortable sharing your BA pics with me? It makes me think we might have similar situations!
jexxi-suen Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 This clinic had big issue in Korea few years back due to many surgery has been massed up
rosalind66 Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 hi Callgirlaccent, these are what I concluded from my research. Dr Park of Dream specialises in closed rhino, he is very good at it. however, not all noses are good candidates for closed method, it is not recommended for people with bulbous tissue. closed rhino is more suitable for revision cases where the nose skin is very thin. dr Suh of JW usually do open rhino method, and his results is quite natural but with noticeable improvement. however, some people were unsatisfied because he seemed to favour round tips. check out the before after of his work and consider if his style is what you are going for. I know nothing about Gyalumhan for rhinoplasty. but I have stumbled upon this clinic when researching for facial contouring surgeons. on its website it is stated that Gyalumhan specialises in facial contouring, not rhino, so you might need to research more for rhinoplasty reviews and before afters from this clinic. please note that I have never consulted with these clinics in person, so if you know someone who have done surgery with them, definitely put more weight on their opinion. hope this helps!
