tryingtohelp1 Posted February 25, 2018 Posted February 25, 2018 Forum, I have two places to recommend: Dr. Be and Aria Eyebrows. Of course, not affiliated, no compensation, etc. I was transfixed by all the before/afters from Wonjin, Regen, etc. etc. etc. but am so happy that I went with these two. Let me know if you have any Qs
tryingtohelp1 Posted February 25, 2018 Author Posted February 25, 2018 Sorry, my two sentence review is not an ad. I just remember being in these shoes overwhelmed by choices and pushy big name places. Also, if ad...why would I combine two totally sep experiences in one post? As my mom would say, "No good deed goes unpunished."
tryingtohelp1 Posted February 25, 2018 Author Posted February 25, 2018 Hi Gantz. The brows were $250 USD. I went with the natural look as I did not want the makeup + hair strokes - thought shading behind would look fake (i.e. like makeup...I want it to look like I have naturally thicker brows). Nose (both tip and bridge), eyes (lid & inner epi), & fat trf to face was slightly over $4K USD. Next year, outside (cantho) was $600, fat was $800, and thread was $900.
kc_134 Posted February 25, 2018 Posted February 25, 2018 Sorry, usually when there's a post just recommending clinics without going into any detail or posting photos it can come across as an advertiser. Could you please post photos and go over your journey from consultation to post op?
tryingtohelp1 Posted February 25, 2018 Author Posted February 25, 2018 Interesting. I always thought the ads were the super long reviews with too much detail and using (almost) perfect English, but not sounding like a native speaker. I do not post photos a) for privacy reasons and b) because I don't take photos/selfies/pics, etc. The brow consult was very thorough - she went back and forth and back and forth. She was on time, which I appreciate. The actual process did not take that long. She penciled in multiple shapes before we decided. I'd say the consult took 30-45 minutes, but the procedure itself only took 15 (or so it felt) I'll go back in a bit for a touch up. It was not at all uncomfortable pain wise, but felt burning a bit which surprised me. It was dark the first few days, but not freakishly so (like I thought). I'm impressed. The surgery consult was thorough BUT the one thing in the US is that the docs are more patient with questions and allow you to actually ask. In Korea, they sometimes act - not insulted - but a "You're questioning me?" I didn't get so much this attitude, but I think they were somewhat surprised I had questions. Interestingly, the consultant wanted me to have 23947234 things done, and both docs cut that list in half, which I appreciated. Pre-op, same as US, post-op, very nice to wake up in dark, warm area as opposed to bright light in sterile US hospital.
eurasianbeauty Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 Sounds like a local clinic since the prices for all of that is so low. What clinic does Dr Be work in? I will add your eyebrow place to my list of non-surgical places.
tryingtohelp1 Posted February 26, 2018 Author Posted February 26, 2018 Hi, Eurasianbeauty (very modest UN, BTW - haha). Yes, when I first heard the prices, I almost dropped out of my chair because I'm somewhat a believer in "You get what you pay for" AND I'm definitely a believer of "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is" but then it dawned on me that this clinic doesn't own its own 10-tower building, have multiple translators, a lobby the size of the White House, etc. - that all costs money, big money. Let me be upfront - the clinic itself is extremely clean (a necessity of mine) but the outside building/plaza is typical 80s Korea. However, it's in Gangnam, which we know isn't cheap. Dr Be isn't the name of the doc; it's the name of the clinic: www.dr-be.com. There are two docs: one who does the eyes and the other who does the nose.
eurasianbeauty Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 I find Angelababy very beautiful so I chose her for my avatar when I started here a few years ago. She has a Eurasian look, so that's why I chose that name. When did you have your procedures done?
tryingtohelp1 Posted February 26, 2018 Author Posted February 26, 2018 Hi, Eurasianbeauty - I was just kidding around, hence the "haha" - no harm intended. I had the first set of procedures (nose, eyes, fat) in January 2017 and had the eyes done (cantho - didn't have it done last time), with fat trf again to face, and thread a few days ago. I also had a breast reduction a few weeks ago, but that was stateside, and I'm not gonna consider that cosmetic
eurasianbeauty Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 No harm, no foul. How do you like your results? Your nose wasn't functional was it?
tryingtohelp1 Posted February 26, 2018 Author Posted February 26, 2018 I like my results, eurasianbeauty. However, if you're (general you, not you personally) like it very out there, this place may not be the place for you. It is very natural looking (aka boring to some), but as they explained it (and maybe it's bc I asked about risks, where Korean-Korean girls do not), the more "out there" you go (really tall nose, really big eyes, etc. etc. etc.) the bigger the risks involved
tryingtohelp1 Posted February 26, 2018 Author Posted February 26, 2018 By functional nose, eurasianbeauty, do you mean was the surgery for function, or was my nose functional? The nose was purely cosmetic; mine was wide/flat/etc.- stereotypical Asian nose (except for alar base, which they declined to narrow)
eurasianbeauty Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 So it's a local clinic and a non-Korean speak would need a translator, right? How was the fat from one year to the next? ETA: Yes, I was wondering if you had a deviated septum.
