honii Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 I'm curious about hairline lowering surgery I want to lower my hairline a bit and I have been interested in this procedure, but it's so expensive...so I wanted to hear about other people's results (if anyone here has had this procedure.) Although I have done a lot of research, it would be nice to hear more of people's personal experiences. I would like to know whether anyone who had this procedure has suffered with hair loss or scars ? Or any other side effects which they did not expect ? Thank you so much!
yiseul Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 In my personal opinion hair transplant would be better. Note that it is just my own assumption. My forehead is on big side, a little, so I researched on what to do for making it smaller. First I thought hairline lowering surgery is an option because wound healing is the only thing. But after lots of research I found out that this surgery has its own risk factors and disadvantages. 1. Wound healing can be difficult. And there’s lots of pain/discomfort because you’ll feel like someone is pulling down your scalf as hard as they can. 2. You’ll still get at least 3 inches long scar on the edge of your hairline even though it will be covered with short hairs that grown after surgery. 3. Hairline cannot be shaped as you please. Cutting and suturing would limit the shape of the hairline. I think FUT hair transplant would the best option for women hairline lowering. 1. Hair donor area scar healing is easier because there’s no muscle involved. And no tension pain. 2. Donor area scar is on the back of head and this scar is so thin that almost invisible. 3. Any kind of shaped hairline is possible since it is hair transplant.
jamie82 Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 Transplants better. The hairline incision one really depends on your scalp laxity / mobility and most end up having to get transplants to hide the scar. T
honii Posted March 20, 2018 Author Posted March 20, 2018 Thank you, I had considered this But since my hair is really long, it would take a long time for it to grow and I wouldn't want to have short bits of hair which people can see...so I'm not sure. Since the hairline lowering surgery has more "immediate" results, and transplant will take so long. But I will consider this more, thank you so much !
honii Posted March 20, 2018 Author Posted March 20, 2018 Thank you for your advice, I heard that people will often get hair transplant to hide the scar The problem for me is just that the transplant would take so long to be the same length as the rest, and the process is slow. But thank you I will consider this
