mn31515 Posted April 14, 2018 Posted April 14, 2018 That was also my feeling with regard to how GNG responded to my dissatisfaction with my natural results with rhino and ptosis despite me asking repeatedly for a dramatic change for rhino, especially. I know the limitations of ptosis correction. I wouldn't use the words "conned" or "botched" in my case. My rhino doctor did produce a nice natural look..for the most part... but I felt they were very dismissive and unwilling to do much to please their clients after taking their money. I agree with everything @AshleyLovesYou has stated above!
ririna Posted April 14, 2018 Posted April 14, 2018 Thanks for your insight! Regen was actually second on my list, so I'm glad you suggested them. Do you have any personal experience with Dr. Oh? Or could you point me to where I can find more reviews and info on them? I'm trying to search more but I feel like there isn't enough written in English. Sent from my SM-J727T using Tapatalk
californiarollin1992 Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 Thank you for the reassuring words! And oh no, in this case I literally spent all of one minute describing what I wanted so there was not much to translate Hahaha. But you are right. It is still too early in my recovery to make judgment calls. Every day I wake up to a nose that looks more and more settled, so best not to spend my energy worrying
ashly117 Posted April 15, 2018 Posted April 15, 2018 Nooooo!! How are you now? Did you get the confidence to talk to him yet? Why are girls torturing themselves like this?
pspi Posted April 15, 2018 Author Posted April 15, 2018 The world is unkind to girls. And I'm ok, still hanging in. Thank you for asking! ^-^ -@AshleyLovesYou I'm sorry you are unhappy too. I froze up as well. They did ask quite a few times if I had any questions or anything to say, which was appreciated, but I just blanked out. I think a good idea for people like us is to find someone to go to consultations with. It's hard going it all alone. I'm hoping all the best for you!
hannahcc Posted April 17, 2018 Posted April 17, 2018 From what I read, GNG is more conservative. There's nothing wrong for being conservative, at least they won't over do it which is worse. But we pay so much of cos we want to see the results, that's totally understandable! So for more dramatic look, maybe should look elsewhere.
sandra778 Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 What is the connection between natural result and conservative?
sandra778 Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Oh, that is really bad ! How can GNG be very dismissive and unwilling to do much to please their clients after taking their money.
hehahugh2 Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Did you use dis-solvable screw? If then does it hold it less or is it much better than old ones?
pspi Posted April 20, 2018 Author Posted April 20, 2018 They did use dissolvable screws. From my understanding (I don't know much about them), the old kind of screws have to be taken out by a surgeon so you'd have to stay longer.
sandra778 Posted April 20, 2018 Posted April 20, 2018 Hello, pspi I have carefully read your sincere review. I feel very sorry for you. I really feel sad. I hope you feel better about yourself soon. My heart sank after I read that you paid $12K to GNG and feel you look the same. Actually in this forum there's many good reviews about GNG and it looks like ppl who prefer natural style are satisfied with the result. But I didn't know that there's many posts like this in the fellow forummer who went to GNG. I really feel sorry for you. Hospitals gave high expectation to patients. This forum also created high expectation of GNG but at the end now I know GNG produce conservative result. U shape is really unacceptable. And then Dr Seong cannot speak English but GNG staff didn't translate properly? That's the worst! I don't even want to think what will happen to me after surgery if I go to GNG. I think I will take off GNG from my list.
pspi Posted April 20, 2018 Author Posted April 20, 2018 Thank you for reading I saw Dr Choi. The staff did translate properly, it's just that it's hard to convey certain things to someone through another person and I was uncomfortable. A lot could have been different had I said more. But it is true that hospitals give high expectations. I'm starting to see the u shape a bit more as a v but it's more from my chin being lengthened from genioplasty than shape of my mandible (what I hoped). But I barely discussed mandible so I don't really blame Dr Choi. He improved my zygoma and chin protrusion. I don't want to dissuade you from GNG (in my opinion it's a safe and friendly place) but I don't want you to be unprepared. I think GNG is worth visiting if you're in that area, but it's all up to you. Please let us know whatever you decide! I want to support and help ^-^
pspi Posted May 13, 2018 Author Posted May 13, 2018 I want to mention something about reviews since people have been concerned about them lately. GNG did offer to lower my surgery price if I agreed to them using photos. When I said no, they offered a smaller reduction if I write a review. I said yes. However, they never said it had to be positive or where to post it and it was never discussed after the consultation. So I hope that helps. here's a bit of an update: it has been a few months since the surgery day. The parts of my face still swollen (cheeks, mostly) are not really noticeable. It hasn't gone down much in the last month. There have been sticky sounding noises from my cheekbones the last few weeks, especially my right one. They don't hurt and kind of come and go. I can eat almost everything but taking big bites is still a No. That's about it. I'm still unhappy with my mandible area. To be honest I may just be irreparably ugly as well as picky. Dr Choi probably did all he could with the mess he was given, the poor guy. But I'm still thinking about a second v-line, someday. As always, if I can help with anything, let me know.
madambutterfly89 Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 It's like that everywhere. Which is why they ask you for your occupation on the patient form. If you can promote their clinic in any way or they will go above and beyond bc there's less room for mistake. They know if anything bad happens these social media bloggers who have thousands of followers can possibly ruin their reputation.
