pspi Posted May 14, 2018 Author Posted May 14, 2018 Yeah, that's a sad thing. I've noticed people's opinions on GNG have been more mixed since the start of this year. A lot of clinics seem to have a big rise and fall around here because we fall for promises and glamorous before/after stories. I thought I wouldn't since I've lurked here long enough, but it really just took one girls seemingly amazing results to sway me. I don't think I was lied to at GNG and they treated me well during a really vulnerable time, which means so much to me. But it seems I am not the only one at least underwhelmed by the results. In the future I think I'd rather independently find clinics and just go with my gut.
madambutterfly89 Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 Any doctor who tells you sagging won't happen is not telling the truth. Or that your eyes won't change is also a lie....you lose the allure and contour in your face which causes this chubby blob look over time. So much politic and underlying corruption regarding any plastic surgeries. I can tell you first hand that his surgery may look good in photos but once you see the person in real life...it's different in not a good way.
magggggg Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 Seems like they were never really that great in the first place with the bad reviews I'm seeing. Thought they were a good choice, but thanks to the forum I've taken them off my list.
sandra778 Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 Hi sweetie. Do you have any update? I am sorry... I pray everything will be ok for you.
thelilachour Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 @pspi sorry if I’ve misread somewhere on this thread, when did you have contouring done? I am 6 months post op for v-line and there is still noticeable swelling, especially if I sleep in the wrong position or after air travel. I wear the face compression band every night for this. But one thing I learned after rhinoplasty is it takes time to see the final result, at least a year or sometimes longer. I try not to get discouraged if I see a lot of bulk and swelling until a year from now. Also, some volume may be soft tissues (bulky masseter muscle, fats) which can be adjusted at later surgeries or non-surgically. Have you tried wearing the tighter face compression bands? I find after I wear one for most of a day it compresses the swelling and soft tissues enough I can see my true jawline shape and it gives me motivation to wait it out longer.
sandra778 Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 Hi @pspi Is it still u shaped? Could you please update for us?
pspi Posted July 20, 2018 Author Posted July 20, 2018 Yes, of course! Hi, sorry I've been gone awhile. I think it's still quite u shaped, but I would say there is a more visible change in how it was before. This seems to be mostly because of my chin. The surgeries lengthened my chin a fair bit so the extra length to my chin has made my face more into a v-like shape than before. Not to get too dark, but since this happened I've gotten some therapy and talked about possibly having body dysmorphic disorder. that's something anyone should bear in mind when reading my posts. I'm trying to be as objective as I can and have thought about if I came off too critical of GNG. Yet I've been bothered by the other reviews from girls feeling mistreated there. A lot of it surprised me since my experience there was good but I wonder if I was a good fit.
pspi Posted July 20, 2018 Author Posted July 20, 2018 @thelilachour, Hi! I'm coming up on 6 months very soon myself. I had contouring done around the Olympic games, actually. I still have some swelling left especially around sleep, like you. When I wake up I feel like a balloon. It does make me feel better because it tells me I still have a way to go. I'll keep in mind what you said about soft tissues, that is a good point too.
