stylishtostylish Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 I remember how was searching about rhinoplasty in Seoul and read many reviews on this forum as well which helped me a lot and now I want to share my experience to help other people. Hope someone can find it useful. Having talks with so many girls proceeded the same surgery as I wanted, I revealed several most important points: 1) When choosing a surgeon, focus on his style. He MUST have enough experience in similar to your work. 2) Take a closer attention to successful/unsuccessful rate of his works (or satisfied/unsatisfied patients). 3) Not 100% of the result depends on the surgeon. The healing process is different and the doctor isn't the one to blame if you aren't following his post-op instructions carefully. I think nose is the central part of the face and the whole facial geometry and appearance perception depend on it. I decided on rhinoplasty because had natural defect of my nose tip. It was a bit wide and long in comparison with the rest part of my face. The decision to proceed an operation was difficult, but now all my colleagues and friends keep telling that I look much prettier and even younger. When I decided I wanted surgery, I was living in Korea at that time but didn't know any korean, just english. Honestly it's not that difficult to contact them in english .. Seoul is the capital for plastic surgery and to find the right clinic with the right surgeon for me was quite difficult but I finalized my choice on Regen (too long to describe why, but main reasons were: experienced doctors, good quality service, prestigious and reputable name, perfect location and doctor's attitude). My first consultation there was in July last year but the operation date was set only in September. Hopefully, time passed quickly and the week before I began to worry, get nervous and the heart beat faster when I thought of a coming operation. I was afraid that I'd change my mind and again endlessly think and dream about rhinoplasty, so I eagerly awaited the X-day. A week before I started preparing for the surgery and followed all the instructions: took all the tests, didn't drink alcohol and didn't smoke. I was also said that my stomach should be empty so I started fasting 6 hours before. Next morning I arrived Regen, changed my closes, filled out paper and I met the doctor for the final check, we discussed all the details and desired results one more time and by the time I came into the operation room everything was already prepared. I met the anesthesiologist. He asked some questions about smoking, weight, allergies etc. washed my face after taking some pictures, and from the moment I was given an anesthesia shot I remember nothing. I woke up already in my recovery room with a little dizziness, "Sahara Desert" in my mouth and my lips were over-dried, so keep in mind to take a moisturizing lipstick. The same evening I came back home and the first night was creepy. It was really hard to breathe, lips and mouth were dry. The situation became better during the next two days. Approximately 5 days later I could wash my hair BUT be very careful and gentle. It's better to overturn your head back so that water doesn't fall on your face and especially nose! Seams were removed in two weeks, breathing became easier and my nose was itching less. All edemas were almost gone by that time, but the nose was still a bit swollen like a little potato. MISTAKE #1 - NEVER evaluate the result immediately after removing stitches, wait at least a couple of months. The first month I slept only on my back and only sometimes a bit on my side. The most significant drawback - the nose became very oily, I had to dip it with a napkin several times a day. The rehabilitation wasn't easy at all, especially the second day after the surgery. The first week I constantly got a feeling like my nose would burst from pressure, but everything gradually was gone. REMEMBER, your nose wouldn’t be as soft as before the surgery, at least the first 2-3 months. Here are my most important rules for faster rehabilitation: 1) Limit yourself in drinking water up to 2 liters/day it'd help to avoid excessive swelling as it usually remains up to 1 month. 2) Forget about sun, gym, alcohol, smoking and coffee for some time. 3) Avoid too cold/hot places or sharp temperature fluctuations. 4) Take care of your blood pressure, it should be stable. I don't regret and yes, it wasn't easy at all but everything is already forgotten. It helped me to get rid of terrible diffidence, so if you have an opportunity and determination, just DO IT! BEFORE AFTER AFTER 4 MONTHS
thebootyfan Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 You look very pretty, but I personally think that your nose was nice before and a "big" tip could be covered by some makeup tips
stylishtostylish Posted April 12, 2018 Author Posted April 12, 2018 Thanks a lot but as far as I remember myself, my nose was quite large in respect to my face and chin is quite small, so I was always unsatisfied with my profile pics.
thebootyfan Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 Do you think it has changed your life dramatically? And I also wonder whether the result coincided with expected modeling?
stylishtostylish Posted April 12, 2018 Author Posted April 12, 2018 Initially the edema on the tip was quite dense and round, so I saw no difference. But now I see dramatic changes looking at my before and after pics. Actually, modelling is not the final result, it's just a projection to which the doctor should strive, but in my case they are 100% matched. I can feel how confident I'm now, stopped thinking about how my nose looks from the side and I do believe if you are unhappy with your appearance, you should do some changes. I did it only for myself as I think it's very important to love yourself. It was just a dream for me before and I doubted a lot but for that very moment I'm very happy.
thebootyfan Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 Glad for you because I've been looking for a good surgeon for a long time, who was yours? I've heard of Regen on other forums, think it's quite popular in Korea? It's been almost 6 months since you got the procedure done, what are the main changes you've noticed? Do you still have any troubles at night with breathing now?
stylishtostylish Posted April 12, 2018 Author Posted April 12, 2018 My surgeon was Dr.Oh, very gentle and attentive. I don't have any breathing problems now, it's as same as it was before. During the first month there was a slight pain when pressing the area just above the tip, but each day it became better and now my nose is quite soft and I can sleep in any position. I was worrying about the scar on the columella but it's already pale and almost invisible, mainly seen from the side.
thebootyfan Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 I actually find you quite a good fellow if you dared to change something that you wasn't satisfied with. Did you have to use special nose drops to make the breathing easier and has the sense of smell restored? I've also heard that stitches are usually being removed within a week, why did it take you so long?
pinkmartini4 Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 Ive had my rhinoplasty done 4 years ago at Regen. Results were very natural.
stylishtostylish Posted April 12, 2018 Author Posted April 12, 2018 I didn't follow all the instructions, so had some complications. Stitches were supposed to be removed after 1 week, but due to my disobedience I had to wait a week more. I touched my nose a lot and did some "light" yoga. But, I didn't use any drops for breathing and the smell was restored in 2 weeks. Recently I caught cold for the first time after operation and worried about my "new" nose, hopefully nothing out of ordinary happened.
stylishtostylish Posted April 12, 2018 Author Posted April 12, 2018 I'm so happy for you! can you share your results as well?
thebootyfan Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 I'm considering rhinoplasty this summer and planning to contact Dr.Oh soon. Are there any specific recommendations to make the rehabilitation easier?
stylishtostylish Posted April 12, 2018 Author Posted April 12, 2018 Give up salty food before and after surgery and your edema would be much less. I personally didn't eat salt and sugar for 1 month and the doctor noticed that I was swollen less than other. Forgot about sports for at least 1.5 months and try not to touch your nose too often. Protect it from frost and sun at least first year and good luck with your operation.
thebootyfan Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 Thank you for sharing your experience. It's so detailed and helped me a lot. You answered most of my questions
