honii Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 To anyone who has had v-line surgery...how long did it take for your swelling to reduce? I mainly would like to know how long it was until you could go out in public without a mask or anything? For most people, it seems to be about 8 - 10 days. I hope that I could get laser, massage and / or de-swelling injections to reduce this, and walking a lot apparently helps as well. I will take recommended vitamins too and avoid salty foods or drinks Are there any other ways to reduce swelling ?
daysuntilpretty Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 I had just mandible angle reduction 2 years ago! It wasn’t until about day 9 that I was able to go out with no face mask and look “normal”. But, looking back at my pictures I took then, I was still soo swollen compared to my final result now but looked normal enough not to make people scream at me in public lol
erer232 Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 In my case it took about a week to go out in public without a mask. And use a high pillow! It helps to prevent&reduce swelling! Good luck
honii Posted May 5, 2018 Author Posted May 5, 2018 Sorry but for some reason it won't let me reply to anyone (it says that it is "spam") but thank you both! I bought a high wedge pillow to keep my head up, and I'll have to learn how to sleep on my back instead of side so that my face swells a little less
daysuntilpretty Posted May 5, 2018 Posted May 5, 2018 Have you already had your surgery? Pls recover well! Take care and rest a lot!
honii Posted May 5, 2018 Author Posted May 5, 2018 No not yet, I just want to be prepared for the future when I do have it! Thank you though
