nicole-wilson Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 Hi everybody! Im Nicole from California and I'm in SK now =) My trip was better than I thought and I am leaving next Sunday. I would like to share my experience so I can help others as much as the reviews in this forum has helped me. My dad is Thai and my mom is Filipino, so my facial features are very much the "typical" Asian type. I was stressed out by my eyes because they made me look sleepy and I was never happy with how small they looked compared to my face, but I can see a huge improvement since my surgery last Saturday. I decided to get surgery in Korea after doing some research through this forum and Youtube. Here i learned about DFK who helped me find out about Banobagi clinic. I decided to go with them since seeing the videos on YouTube and great the results look. The person from DFK I talked to helped make an appointment for me even though I heard Dr. Lee is super busy. I have done double eyelid with Ptosis surgery and although they're still pretty swollen now I feel much more confident and can't wait until I can see the final results, will update soon!
magggggg Posted June 12, 2018 Posted June 12, 2018 Why did you use DFK? I heard it is expensive than clinics.
nicole-wilson Posted June 13, 2018 Author Posted June 13, 2018 I have been searching on this forum, Google and Youtube. I sent email to over 20 clinics. Only 70 % of clinics reply to me back. I did my best to get big and the best discount. But I was doing one operation and a lot of clinics said that they could not give me a big discounts. So, I have arranged 3 clinics and I got a quotation from the Docfinder and some agencies by e-mail. And they gave me most big discount for surgery and additionally i could get free transportation service from them!
magggggg Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 The price becomes more expensive if you go with DFK. Coz they receive commission from the hospital. How much did you pay and get discount?
keii Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 I also used DFK initially out of curiosity. When I saw they gave me chin implant estimates in the 3-6 mil KRW before face to face consultations, I balked, not because I'm cheap but because I had another pretty reputabler clinic quote me 2 mil KRW as a starting point before face to face consultations, AND included free transportation, deswelling injections and laser skin care. This price was given to me when i asked them on kakao and before tax free. That clinic fully understood that I am a foreigner from Canada. So, when I see that 1-4 mil KRW difference, I get a bit skeptical about whether DFK really helping me find the best cost with reputable clinics.
keii Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 DFK only gave me names like "clinic A" , "clinic B" etc, but I'm guessing it's GNG, Banobagi, ID, Regen, etc...it seems like those are the ones they often recommend anyway. MVP Clinic is the one that started off with 2,000,000 KRW for chin augmentation/implant. They did warn me by saying this is the initial and it will change once a face to face consultation is conducted since that's when they can will be able to give me a more in depth explanation of what needs to be done. The range for DFK chin implants from the 5 clinics they recommended (a,b,c,d,e) was 3,000,000 KRW to 4,500,000 KRWKRW start. (Sorry, I just went back to check my email from DFK and mixed up the chin implant range with one of the rhinoplasty ones!). I sent the same photos to both DFK, and MVP (and a few other clinics...DA, Me Clinic, Grace, Dream, the View) , initially to inquire about the cost of fillers and other non invasive procedures to create a more v line chin. Besides DFK and MVP, the rest said they can do fillers and recommended an implant, however they didn't give me the cost . Even based on cost for fillers, the range from my own research was 300,000 KRW to 800,000 KRW per cc from the different clinics I talkes to while DFK quoted me anywhere from 600,000 KRW to 2,000,000 KRW per cc.
rosalind66 Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 DFK doesn't recommend reputable clinics. Usually they recommend Banobagi although it has lots of bad reviews
magggggg Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 DFK is an agency, not clinic. So your saying that GNG, Banobagi, ID, Regen prices are more expensive than MVP? Is MVP popular? How many doctors are there in MVP?
keii Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 Yeah, I'm aware that DFK is an agency, it's their choice to not reveal their clinic names to me, but from a quick keyword search on this forum, I see that others who have utilized the DFK service often list Banobagi, ID and the like from their experience with DFK. Prices often vary and some of the bigger clinics will charge foreigners exponentially more. I think a general consensus is that the foreigner friendly/ heavily marketed to foreigner clinics often demand much higher prices. Unfortunately, it seems like DFK tends to work closely with those kinds of clinics. A search on this forum will show that quite a few users have gone to MVP for their surgeries. They have three major surgeons and an in house anesthesiologist. I personally like their B/A which is why I consulted with them. I won't know if I'll go with them until the face to face as I had a pleasant online experience with Dream as well. Keep in mind that every clinic has both negative and positive reviews, so ultimately it is up to you I'm going to make my choice by how professional the clinic is via online consultation, if their B/A fits my aesthetic, and face to face consultation.
keii Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 Not yet, I will probably do des in 2019, but will be going for rejuran and dermal fillers in September since i'll be there on a short vacation anyway
nicole-wilson Posted July 4, 2018 Author Posted July 4, 2018 I knew that DFK received a commission from the clinic and offered a free concierge service for customers. So first i sent emails to 20 clinics and hospitals and finally got a 10% discount from 3.52 million krw at Banobagi clinic. In the e-mail consultation said if I had more than 2 surgeries I would get more discount. In my case I couldn't expect a big discount because I planed to do only eye correction surgery. So I used 10% discount. It was more convenient for me and I got a lot of helps. Eye correction surgery after 10% discount i paid 3.168 million krw. Its been a month after surgery, So far I am satisfied
