Ah! I'm so glad I found this site/thread because I've been watching DFK videos on YT (posted by influencers like JennyDear, Leslie twins, etc) and at first I didn't realize they were sponsored videos/free services to these influencers. AH. I ended up emailing them for info but haven't heard back.

Anyway: for those of you who have done plastic surgery in Korea, how do you find reputable clinics/doctors? I'm lost! I live in LA and was originally going to do my rhinoplasty here and was having trouble just finding doc's here that I trusted enough to do it so I'm totally out of sorts trying to choose someone overseas.
- What Qs should I ask to make sure clinics are safe? (Licensed, board certified doctors; no issues with death or malpractice; emergency necessities in case something goes wrong during a procedure.)
- What clinics to locals go to and why?
- Can I communicate with doctors ahead of time so when I go there I just do an in-person additional consult and then into the procedures?

My biggest concern is my nose. I'm half-Filipino, half-white, and my nose is very traditional Filipino. Wide nostrils, bulbous tip, etc. Based on my features I've always tried to seek out an "African American rhinoplasty specialist" because that's what I thought I needed. I'd need to narrow my bridge and do an alar reduction, but I'm super nervous about that because i don't want it to look too oval/pointed/triangle/Michael Jackson-y. I feel like sometimes doctors (even surgeons in the US who are aimed to Asian patients) overdo it and do very oval shaped nostrils which scares me. Anyone with a similar nose have any experience?

Also: payment. In the US they have many payment options including Care Credit which gives you 15 months of no interest to pay off the balance. From what I've heard about Korean plastic surgery, they don't have anything like this and the full amount is due on the day of surgery. Is that correct?

Other procedures I want besides rhinoplasty (just an FYI): jaw reshaping for v-shaped face, potential microliposuction for my cheeks (or buccal fat pad removal), forehead reduction, breast implants and nipple reconstruction, lipo for my arms.

Try searching on prskorea.com search feature first. It will show you names of surgeons that are board certified, but keep in mind that this list is not comprehensive. Other than that you can use PF's advanced search feature to find out reviews of doctors. But keep in mind there are many fake reviews written by clinic's staff on PF too.

there are PF members that have kindly shared names of clinics with deaths, the ones I've read about are are Jayjun, ID, Wonjin, Grand, Before and After Clinic

Doctors cannot give you accurate consultation without seeing you in person.

For payment, some clinics offer 10% discount for cash but not all clinics do. Some also charge credit card fees

Thread Starter is a foreigner living in Korea as she said that gives recommendations through DMs and gets commission from the clinics that she is able to get people to go to, which is illegal btw. She makes new accounts to communicate through DM and refuses to give her Kakaotalk id so it's seems pretty sketchy. Also I would advise to get surgery first before agreeing to meet her, otherwise she will get commission from the hospital if you send her your information. @rosalind66 @brewsuzie

LOL I do not work for any clinic and why I didn’t just give out my kakao freely is because I use that privately, if you don’t know already people put their kakao users on their resumee etc in Korea. I mean I have my kakao for friends, family, school, and my part time job. Don’t spread false information. Msg me privately if you wanna talk this out but don’t go around and spread false info

Also, I do understand how it looks from your point of view and therefore I wanna clarify a few things even further,
I did put it in a weird way in my first post about how I can show people around etc, Or I can at least see how the things I wrote can be read wrongly. I didn't mean it as that and I'm def not promoting any clinics. I just wanted to be nice, help out as much as I could and also meet new people. I guess it's not very common to be nice these days huh? But I understand how it looks like and therefore I AM NOT GONNA MEET UP WITH ANYONE. I don't know how to edit my first post but from now on, don't msg me for that.
I WILL NOT HELP YOU OUT WITH KOREAN RELATED STUFF, I WILL NOT ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING CLINICS
and lastly, I simpy just created this thread to share my experience with docfinder, NOT promote any other clinic. Don't get it twisted.

I hope any misunderstanding is solved now
Be nicer next time. I would have appreciated it so much more if you had DMed me first asking me what I'm really doing (if it felt ''sketchy to you'') before you wrote anything accusing me of things that aren't true.

T-money is more convenience to use for cab and convenience store of course you can use it in metro as well.
I prefer to use T-money while staying in Korea so that you do not have to carry or exchange lots of Korean won.
Also, as I researched before underwent surgery in Korea, Seoul is the most confy to hang around without any service like DFK.
The most of clinics offer you a pickup/sending service and translating without any additional charge. And Seoul is very nice place to hang around byself (If you are in lost in somewhere in seoul then you can ask people around you, they will help you a lot kindly).

@hh_kr22 , thank you for taking your time warning us of Docfinder. Even though veterans of this forum have often been warned of docfinder before, I'm sure many newbies are helped by your post.

Please do not take to heart accusations of being a promoter. Maybe the accuser is just tired of seeing fake reviews and thus immediately being suspicious of others. I hope you won't mind if others messaged you to ask questions, since many of us here are clueless about korean clinics

You are right and I got a lot of information via this thread and got the good prices via the clinics and DFK. I think they are not bad. You seem to have strong opinions about them. Did you had any bad experiences?

Hi MarkSharmen, I was able to reserve a surgery date for a nicely discounted price thanks to your comment!
Which clinic did you get your surgery?
