pomsaengpomsa Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 Hi I'm new here, hoping this is the right place to ask this. Like the title says, I think the sutures in my right eyelid are loosening and I need a method to make it look normal until I can hopefully get it fixed. Some background: this is my second time getting double eyelid surgery (non-incision the first time a year ago, then got it redone with the incision method about three months ago). I got them redone because the creases became too small and I was afraid they'd become undone eventually, but ironically it seems like they're becoming undone anyway. At first I thought I was experiencing increased swelling again for some reason, but it's looked like this for over a month now and on closer inspection my eyelid seems "looser" rather than more swollen. How my eye looks now: How it looked before mid-July when it started reverting: Compare to how it looked one-month post-op when I was all swollen: I mean to contact my surgeon to find out exactly what's going on but since the clinic is in Korea I won't be able to get whatever the problem is fixed until winter at the earliest. The fall semester starts in less than a week and I'm paranoid about having to walk around looking like this. Does anyone have experience with eyelid tape or glue? Since the shape of my eye itself looks different, rather than it looking the same just without a crease, I'm not sure if it would even help...
watermelon09 Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 Hi, I think you need ptosis correction surgery. I am not sure if you only did eyelid surgery but maybe ptosis is the reason why your eyes become like that again. I don't suggest using eyelid tape or glue because I think your eye skin will become saggy and your eyes will become worse.
Wondermuffin Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 Agreed with the above poster. You need ptosis and revisional DES. I’m surprised the doc didn’t recommend ptosis to you in the first place. My eyes are a bit like your current eye condition.
karema Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 Personally, I like your eyes before surgery. And I also, agreed with the above posters as well. I wonder why the doctor did not recommend the ptosis correction...
pomsaengpomsa Posted August 22, 2018 Author Posted August 22, 2018 Thanks for your reply, I actually got ptosis correction surgery on both eyes the first time around last year when I got my non-incisional double eyelid surgery. Can ptosis correction fail? I was considering that possibility but when I searched online I was told if done right they shouldn't revert, and they did last a year until I got my eyelids redone... EDIT: Well I searched again and it looks like it can fail. Interesting because when I searched in Korean I got largely opposite results.... sigh looks like I'll just have to live with this until I can get it fixed for the third time
nikki1989 Posted August 23, 2018 Posted August 23, 2018 your eyes look pretty similar as mine and I'm agree with the above posters too. You need ptosis I think
