madambutterfly89 Posted November 2, 2018 Posted November 2, 2018 A few years ago I had my cheekbones reduced slightly. I did this procedure bc for decades I was self conscious about the asymmetry of my cheekbones. However, Instead of just reducing the slightly wider side, my surgeon did bilateral reduction. My question is, the left side that I shouldn't have touched is now too narrow. Would it be wise to use bone graft from the hip to widen the bones back out or should I consider custom cheek implants. Any feedback is appreciated.
madambutterfly89 Posted November 2, 2018 Author Posted November 2, 2018 I don't know if this is right but one surgeon told me that the bone cutting line is slightly oblique to the horizon. If the malar arch is slightly pushed upward, the total width will become increased. Another option is to have custom cheek implants. He told me not to do bone grafting due to reasorotion rate. Is there anyone who can provide some insight? I'm am terrified of making another mistake.
