  1. Does anyone know if September is still considered high season?

  2. Hmm does acculift cause your skin to sag?

I had been considering it for the under chin area, but I read someplace that people who get acculift almost always have to get some kind of skin tightening (face lift?) afterward... not sure if that is actually the case, though!

  3. Does anyone know if silicone, goretex, and ultra soft silicone can be permanent?

I read somewhere (perhaps on this forum or another) that if you get an artificial implant, you WILL need a revision sometime in your lifetime, since it will almost 100% need to be replaced. (Whether that's from infection, extrusion, or some other issue, I'm not sure.) For that reason, I've been scared of artificial implants, since I'm hoping to not have to go through a nose job more than once.

    Is this indeed the case?

  4. Hi, everyone!

I've been a silent reader here for over a year, and I thought I'd come out of hiding since I saw that a few of you are discussing Wonjin, as I've had some experience with that clinic.

I actually had non incisional eyelid surgery at Wonjin last October, and complications unfortunately arose. About a month or two after the surgery, I noticed that the surgical thread had somehow broken through the skin of my eyelid, thus leading to a bad eyelid infection that did not go away for months. In fact, you can *see* 2 exposed parts of the black surgical thread poking out of the surface my eyelid skin right now, which makes it difficult to put on makeup...not to mention making me extremely self conscious about going outside.

When I emailed Wonjin about this issue, it would take weeks at a time for the consultant to respond to my questions. Apparently, the thread is supposed to be non-dissolvable and is supposed to stay under the skin (which it didn't, since it started coming out within a month or two of the surgery).

Every time I respond with follow up questions, the consultant just asks me to fly back to Korea to speak to the operating surgeon (Dr. Son) about it..... and then says I will be charged at least 500,000 won in anesthesia fees for them to cut off the exposed thread and remove the sutures altogether. They are refusing to refund me the original surgery price, won't help with accomodations or travel costs (I would have to fly from the US, so it's quite expensive), and are charging me to fix the complication / exposed thread on top of everything. I'm currently still trying to see if they can do anything more to help resolve the botched surgery, and it's still a waiting game (as it literally takes weeks at a time to get a response between emails mostly).

Anyway, my intention is not to slander the clinic unnecessarily, but I decided to take the time to write this post in hopes that my fellow readers will be able to avoid the amount of heartache, worry, and troubles I'm going through now to get this resolved (especially as I have gotten so much helpful knowledge from other fellow forum members here).

If anyone has any advice on how to deal with this sort of situation (when a clinic refuses to help or is unresponsive / tries to charge extra to fix a botched surgery), I would really appreciate it!

Looking forward to getting to know some of you in this forum, and I hope my case helps some of you guys as a cautionary tale.... wish I'd just gone for one of the better reviewed clinics and surgeon instead!

  5. I've heard of Dr. Su from a popular Taiwanese forum called FashionGuide (I believe it's www.fashionguide.com.tw or something similar to that).

Has anyone else here heard anything else (good or bad) or had experiences with her?

  6. Hi, everyone! I've also been following this thread for some time (read through the zillion pages, whew!) but finally decided to take the plunge and post. It's so refreshing to hear from other people who are so candid and non-judgmental (and experts!) about their plastic surgery experiences ... I know if I brought up with most of my friends that I wanted to get something done, they would be judgmental and just ask "Why??", so it's definitely great to see that there are others here that also believe it's a personal choice and share their experiences. Everyone here looks so great in their pics!

    I was wondering...
I know there are 3 "well-known" PS doctors in Taiwan:
Dr. Chang, Dr. Jong, and Dr. Chuang.
    (also Dr Tseng for nose)
I was wondering which of these is best for double eyelid surgery, however?

I'm hoping to get surgery in Taiwan sometime this year with hopefully a doc that is hopefully famous or skilled at double eyelid surgery and was wondering whom everyone recommend or has heard good / bad things about? Would Chang, Tseng, or Chuang be best for eyelid surgery (or someone else altogether?) Or does anyone know any good Bay Area (San Francisco , California) surgeons?

(I read through the threads and there was a lot of discussion on these doctors and their rhinoplasty skills, but I couldn't find a whole lot on a comparison or recommendations of their double eyelid surgery skills).

Also, I already have double eyelids, but it's a mostly "inner" double in my left eye, and larger in my right eye (could sometimes qualify as a triple or 2.5 since it has an extra line somewhat O_o)

Any info you have would be great, and thanks a bunch!
