its a little old, (dec 2007) research paper but basically it talks about plastic surgery complications, the risks involved etc. I attached a screenshot of a useful table that displays the rate of resorption, warping, infection, extrusion rates of various implants like cartilage, bone, silicone, gortex etc.
I personally got mine done with Dr. Jung in south korea using gore tex, i really liked it, but this time around i need to reduce my nose flare. (should've done it but at that time i was too scared to do too much n ppl would notice) i'm not sure if i should go again to korea or if i should do japan.. i'll let u know once i come up with something.
oh no... thats not good! my bf was drunk and he ran into my nose! it was so painful! i need this thing to be more malleable or else i'm gonna turn it into mush just by being clumsy! i'm trying so hard to take care of myself trust me. : (
i used ear cartilage n i was wondering if for ppl who also used ear cartilage if their nose became really stiff after like.. a year, two years.. not trying to piss anyone off but yeah its not easy to kiss ur boyfriend if u have to worry about him hurting ur nose.
hey... for people who's already done rhinoplasty, are u able to push up ur nose to do "piggy" noses at all? i'm one month post opt, n people around me can see i did my nose already.. there's still swelling and i look really different, just waiting for all the swelling to go away. : (
i am so grateful to hear that! i'm terribly worried. lol but because its so swollen, no pictures yet! man i am so nervous. : ( i'm scared i won't be able to pass through the airport cuz i look too deviated. lol
lol really? a dramatic change can be quite frightening!
i didn't do much change. requested an 3 mm augmentation for dorsum and septal. no other changes.
but i just got my stitches out. i've got the anxiety level that just sky rocketed. i know the nose is supposed to be swollen but this swelling really scared me. i look like an elephant! so if u want a dramatic change, please make sure ur emotionally prepared for it! its just a week after my surgery so i'm trying to calm down and see the final results 2 months from now. takes a long time for the nose to deswell. anyway, i got my septum augmented with ear cartilage, my ribs are fully intact. : )
my nose is so wide, and from the side view it looks more like a 8 mm augmentation from the swelling. i'm so scared it won't go down any further! sigh! super nervous!
yeah. both doctors showed me it. i liked dr lee's work but its too dramatic and i didn't want that. thats why i went to dr jung instead. i only did consultations in the two places, didn't bother with O & young cuz its too expensive for me. would be a waste of my time. i only went to these two places because i wanted goretex or cartilage. no silicone.
ah, true it would fade! i certainly hope so for the benefit of all of us. i'm using polysporin right now to try to reduce the look of the scar.
with VIP i talked to joanne the most. i had a briefing with Dr. Lee and he did an endoscope with me to see how much nose cartilage i have, but from the gist of it, i think they're aiming for a dramatic nose, like a tall, sharp, more caucasian nose. they gave me several options on what materials i can use to do my nose. they recommend cartilage for bridge and tip of course. he's a specialist with those. they were very thorough and were detailed in explaining the material and procedures.
lol i'm a girl no worries, but i'm actually already in korea! monday i'm taking out my cast and sutures. : ) sorry girl! i will be leaving soon too. actually what i did for choosing a doctor, is to judge when he gives me a consultation, because the B&A pictures just gives his best jobs of course, but says nothing about his worst, and if he actually cares about u, and not ur money. u gotta be really careful here, because they obviously want your business.. but i highly suggest you go with someone and u two both go to each other's consultations together because ur partner might catch something that u didnt right? just stay alert!
nose jobs in korea depends on where you go, but they are around 3000 and up. (8 - 10k if ur thinking about rib all the way)
if you want a cheap hotel stay, you should ask the clinics u will be consulting with to see if they can hook u up with a discount! they can usually do that for you if u choose to go to their clinic for surgery
actually your cartilage will probably not fully grow back. unlike cells, cartilage is a type of connective tissue, and its essentially non-living. kinda like bone, excluding the red blood cells in the bone marrow.
i'm chinese : ( i wouldn't be much help with the language barrier, apart from some bits and pieces i learned from watching korean drama. i'm from toronto btw
