  1. hahaha it's Pitangui, there's some bad reviews about it in this forum, but I was thinking to try them out since DES should be the most basic thing a plastic surgeon can do, if they even botch this then it's really bad. the price is really cheap too.

I think I was really lucky it turned out well.

I remembered thinking it was a hassle that I had to go back so often though, as I heard of clinics that give the disinfecting kit for patients to do at their own hotel room instead.

  2. i booked 3 consultations before arriving (all free of charge, no deposits whatsoever). Upon successful negotiation I had to pay the 10% deposit. However after 3 places it was already in the afternoon and a bit rushed to schedule any surgery, so the earliest slot they gave was 9 am the next day. i would also pay the remaining 90% before the surgery. the clinic did mention 7 days before stitch removal in their initial email which I removed 6 days after surgery. ie, Surgery on day 1, stitch removal on day 7. I remember them commenting it's a little tight on time though.

i don't know how many clinics will ask you to go back every other day for dressing change, so if they do it's better to stay near the clinic.

  3. For me it was rather fast, they scheduled the operation the next morning. stitch removal for me was i think on the 6th day? it was the day before i flew back.

I would have stayed nearer the clinic if I knew earlier that they'll ask me to go back every other day for wound cleaning and disinfection.

  4. i like the crease for the most part, but it's really much thicker than when I used the eyelid glue. so even in photos u can tell the difference that my eyes look different.

it's tapered, and I did asked for as thick as can be while still natural. i think he gave me like a 6-7mm? he also cut away excess skin n fats.

i just LOVE the fact that i can now wake up every morning with pretty double eyelids!!

  5. i have DES done, all of them noticed! most of them said i looked different, and i very naturally just admitted i had surgery.

most of them said it's nice and will look pretty once the swelling goes down, and a couple even mentioned that they also wanted to have procedures done. those who met me after my swelling went down, said they couldn't even tell i had surgery done and thought i just had nice double eyelids.

the only one who was a real wet blanket, when i said i did DES as I felt my single eyelids were making me look tired and fierce, said she can't tell the difference and didn't think I needed the surgery. it felt really condescending. anyway she seemed like a control freak who thinks women just need to have children and spend all their time and concentration on the kids. bleah.

i brush that last response off as an anomaly and conclude all the face-to-face responses are positive. lol.

  6. by the way is your husband to be supportive of your decision?
if you're doing fully incisional DES it will take a good 4 months at least for your eyelids to feel "as good as new", possibly even 6 months.. may want to factor enough time for it to recover

  7. some clinics i asked seemed to separate these procedures.. eg for me:
    1. Reductive rhinoplasty + Nose bridge augmentation + Nose tiplasty projection with ear cartilage + Bulbous nose tip correction + Alar base reduction
    2. Nose tip surgery using septal cartilage, Nose bridge augmentation, and alar reduction.

    some group it together:
    1. Rhinoplasty Surgery
-Silicone Implant with Tip surgery by using your own septal cartilages
    -Lateral Bone Reduction
    -Lengthening

i guess in your case, rhinoplasty will refer to the nose bridge area? by the way we seem to have similar problems about our nose hahah

  8. I'm very tempted to do my nose too..I've a bulbous nose so that's my main concern, I want alarplasty and to sharpen my tip but not sure if the results will be worth it.

Anyone who did Asian nose job for bulbous nose can comment ?

  9. Ah I see, lateral canthoplasty seems to have lesser scars, I wish u the best.

I went with Pitangui, and that time it was the cheapest of all the quotes I got. Though I know reviews here are not very stellar, I thought des is a small procedure so should be fine. I did des and eyebag repositioning too.

  10. Hmm in all honesty ur chin & jaw profile looks wonderful pre-surgery.. Was it because of some malocclusion that u decided to do surgery?

  11. And you and a lot others too! For a moment I thought if I was wrongly accusing her or that I was the only one who found her replies funny.

I went through the process of research, consultation, surgery & recovery (albeit for a really small procedure - incisional eyelid) so I can understand the forum people's agony of trying to find the right clinic via real reviews (nothing sponsored like those bloggers out there). And hidden promoters aren't helping, by messing up the shortlising process.

  12. I think her replies are so ridiculous I don't know how to respond lol.

Even the best clinics have u satisfied customers, and I honestly haven't seen anyone defend a clinic to this extent here, even if they had a very successful surgery.

  13. Wow that sounds harsh. You sound really defensive.
