Dolorestolita,
How does your nose look from front view? Are the nostrils showing? In my opinion, if your tip is pointing up, then your nostrils will be showed. That how my nose is. The side view looks so good with the S-line and all, however, I don't like how the nostrils showing in the front view.
noitsyou,
When it comes to choosing the doctor for your procedure, please consider the doctor's skill over the price. For now, you would feel good about saving some $$ but you would spend double that amount to have the revision later.
About the translator issues, most of clinic have in-house translator so you shouldn't worry too much about it.
I think the Rhinoplasty distribute to the swelling as well. And you are still too early into the recovering process, just try to walk as much as you can, watch the sodium intake, sleep with your head elevated. Stay positive and you will be fine. Wishing you a speedy recovery.^^
motherhen,
I had alar reduction done 1 month ago. It does help to reduce my super duper bulbous nose tip, however, the scar is so obvious. Hopefully the scar will fade away.
I had cheekbone reduction, rhinoplasty and full face fat graft with DA 3 weeks ago. I'm very happy with the result. Even though I'm still swollen but I could see the improvement. My face shape went from diamond to oval. My super duper bulbous nose is decent looking now. Overall, my experience with DA was good. (Please excuse my broken english ^_^)
When I was there, the clinic was indeed busy. Most patients were Korean. However, they took their time to have a throughout consultation with me. Their English translator check on me everyday after surgery. I was able to see doctors for every check-up. They provided hair wash, deswelling treatment, deswelling shot (I was soooo swollen). I think they might be busy, but they are not turn into factory yet.
qri,
When they said to bring USD to Seoul, I think they prefer it to the members come from the U.S. If you read through thread, you will notice that people strongly suggest to bring your home currency and exchange it in Seoul.
How about bring Protein powder with you and ask them some water so that you can have some protein shake. I don't think there is any restriction for bringing protein powder in airplane.
That's bad!! I want to have my cheekbone and nose done at the same place. Now with all these negative reviews about that nose doctor, I may have to look elsewhere.
When I put in my vacation request, my boss asked where will I go. I told him that I'm going to go back to my home country. He ask if I want to double the time up (without pay, of course) --> I said YES
So I have 5 weeks off in total. The only thing I'm worried right now is the gossip when I come back with a new nose.
I guess asking for very high price is TLPS style. ^_^
When I email them, they asked 16 mil for cheekbone reduction, Rhinoplasty and Fat graft (it's ridiculous expensive). After a little bargain, the price reduced to 10 mil.
TaRaUnnie,
According to that member, the Doctor told her that the pimple might cause infection. I guess that pimple must be huge to cause such a damaged. ^_^
You all already cover the important matters. I would like to add some minor cautions ^_^
No smoking at least 2 months before surgery.
Take Vitamin supplements if needed but avoid Vitamin E.
Take a good care of your skin. There was one member post about her nose surgery got postponed because of one pimple popped out from her nose.
I've called my bank and they told me that as long as the transaction under US dollar then I'll be fine. If the transaction under other currencies then it will cost 3% extra.
Mai,
You are so cute!!! I would say you don't need any plastic surgery at all. But if you insist to enhance your feature, then a little work on your eyes will be enough. Anyway, it's just my opinion. Hope you don't find it annoyance. ^_^
It's good to hear that. I really want to consult with Girin, but I cannot bring myself to hire a translator. I'm glad that they find a way around for us foreign customers. Peter, do you happen to have Girin contact information as well?
Thank you so much for your detail reviews and wishing you a speeding recovery!!!
I remember about that "intern in training" story, too. There was a member from Australia post about it. She underwent Rhinoplasty at Shimmian. There were like 10 Chinese interns watching the Dr perform the surgery. She said that it was really uncomfortable to have too many people watching her (and who know if the Dr let the intern operated on her or not).
