  1. Did you go for a face to face consult or was this online. They quote their original price at 7M for cheekbone and 7M for jaw. But you should easily get that combo for 10M.

Did you try and negotiate if you were there at the clinic?

  2. Nice report,

Yes at DA some of the gals do look fake especially with the eyes, but Dr. Lee at DA has authored International Craniofacial publications on Jaw surgeries and is a PHD so he is an expert with the jaw and chin and he is the one who actually does the jaw/chin surgeries there.

I don't know much about their other surgeries and how natural or unatural they are, but the before and after photos they have available at the clinic look impressive along with the ones Dr Lee shows.

EverM also had a nice portfolio of before and after photos they show at the consult. The vibe at EverM was more medical and less flashy plastic surgery. The girls that worked there may not have even had any plastic surgery. It was a more truly medical clinic environment.

  3. I will say this. I think I put my faith heavily on reviews of the doctor, looking at the photos in the office and some word of mouth. I do feel the actual consulting time was very minimal considering how major the surgery was. I think the Surgeons are pressed for time, and there is some language barrier even with a translator there, so there is always an element of taking a chance and relying on other things besides the consult. But I am convinced the Doctor is experienced and really knows what he is doing!!

  4. Ok, so After deciding on DAPRS. The next day I fast till the blood test at 1 PM. I arrive at the DAPRS office and I sit in an office with the consultant to talk price finalization and to give her the cash for the surgery. I hated having to give away so much cash. Parting with cash is never fun, but it is what it is. Then suddenly while I'm sitting in the office a Nurse walks in and draws blood from my forearm as I'm sitting at the desk, a little strange. The host is sitting with me the whole time. Next after a short wait its off with the English translator at DAPRS to
another Medical office to check EKG, BP and other vitals for the general anesthesia.

We walk a few blocks and go up to a upper floor to a crowded pharmacy with a little medical office in the back. In the office I change into a gown, get hooked up to a EKG monitor and get some tests done as well as getting my blood pressure taken. Everything seems to check out ok. I had to pay an additional 35,000 Won for this test. After that I was free to go for the day and instructed to not eat or drink anything after Midnight that night.

After some window shopping with the friendly help of the translator from DAPRS who showed me around a bit, I returned to the hotel and went out for my final meal. I made sure to eat Late and heavy so I didn't have any compulsive hunger the morning of the surgery that would cause me to stupidly eat or drink something. At 9 PM i had a meal with some dessert and at 11 PM I drank plenty of water.

I woke up at about 5 AM and was pacing and felt ready to just get out there and do it. I started my process of getting ready, but kept laying down to squeeze in that little extra sleep. After showering and changing my host picked me up about 7:50 AM for the 8 AM arrival for surgery. When I arrived there, I had to sit with the English translator at DAPRS for a about 20 minutes while she went over the consent forums. Basically going over the risks and that I was signing my LIFE AWAY and that GA and surgery had dangers!! I guess Korean doesn't always translate as political correct to English.

Next it was off to the final bathroom trip and then changing into my gown for surgery. The translator asked me to wash my face with some soap they have and asked me questions about Allergies etc for General anesthesia. I didn't get to speak with Anesthesiologist which would have been nice, but apparently he just needed to confirm info regarding allergies including food allergies and he did so with the consultant.

It was off to a meeting with Dr. Lee who went over the surgery plan and answered any remaining questions. He understood my questions in English and even answered in English when he felt like it. Translator helped as needed. This was about 10-15 miniutes. It did feel a bit strange that I didn't get to spend a lot of time getting comfortable with the doctor, but it seemed like cutting up jaw and chin bones is something he does every day on a routine basis, so he was very relaxed and casual about the whole thing. I decided to just accept that and assume if he does it all the time, he knows what he is doing.

He showed me the x-rays again along with my blown up photos. He explained that he was going to make cuts and shave below the nerve line. The X-rays had the nerve lines marked in bright red. That felt comforting. He was upfront that with the T-Cut some sensation could be lost for a month to 3 months , but would come back. The position of the teeth may also shift for a month to 3 months also as a result of the T-cut, but would not be noticeable to others. He concluded that full recovery would be about six months. After that I gave the Doctor a big hand shake grabbing him in full faith and was then taken to the operating room.

I laid down and had the needles put in my forearms, while the translator put my blown up X-rays and photos up on the wall for the doctor to see while he performed the surgery. The anesthesialogist came and told me he would give me a fairly strong anesthesia gas and put a mask on me.

Some time later I woke up with a really nasty feeling and a mask on. It was probably the worst feeling of the whole process. The post anesthesia feeling is the part of the process where I started to say to myself, what the hell am I doing just get me outta here, who cares about the damn result I just wanna feel normal. I was desperate for water, but could not get any for almost 8 hours or so. The nurse came in some time later and removed the mask and replaced some of the meds I was receiving through the IV needles. My mouth was dry and throat rough, I felt extremely light headed. I was walked to the operating table again where Dr Lee did another brief examination. Then it was back to the Hospital room and shortly after to a private room for the rest of the day night. It felt like I was there forever. I didn't get any water and the nurse kept coming in and replacing the liquids and pain killers that are transmitted via the IV needles. Finally I was offered water late in the night, but by that time I didn't really care for it.

Finally morning arrived and I was taken to the operating table again where another doctor removed some stitching of tubes along my gums. It didn't hurt too bad. He explained what happened during the surgery and asked if I had questions, but I couldn't move my mouth too well to ask any questions. I was walked back to the private room. A few minutes later Dr. Lee walks in and touches my face and explains that there is more swelling on the left side, but it will go down in a month or so. He said the operation went perfect! I asked if I could see the post op x rays later and he said sure.

At this point I had a head bandage on tightly on my face. I was free to change and leave with my gargle bottles and prescription, and instructions and was told to come 3 days later for the follow up appointment. I laid in the bed for a few more hours watching tv, before getting up changing and deciding to walk back to the hotel. I felt fairly strong enough to walk and walking helped me feel bit better.

  5. Surgery went well according to the doctor. He told me it went Perfect, but I have the lingering nasty feelings that go with recovery from a post facial surgery. My face is a massive balloon.
I will post a report shortly.

I will be impressed if someone can get a Price for V-Line less than 9M from a good reputable doctor or clinic if the Patient is not local.

I was told about some smaller local type clinics where better prices could be found, but not
much info so word of mouth would be needed to get more info.

  6. I don't believe this to be true. The host I went let me do most of negotiating and I had full power to keep negotiating or take a price. When I noticed I was getting the average price for a procedure that most clinics charge or even a bit less I felt ok.

  7. DAPRS was in a high rise more modern type building and on the 7th floor, very close to Sinsa. After walking in you can see right away the girls looked like barbie dolls almost, very made up. It was obvious they had work done as they looked dramatic, especially with the eyes. The Lobby was moderately crowded with a mix of locals and some foreign.

They recently hired an English Translator girl. She spoke very good English. The vibe was very flashy and the attitude seemed to be we can make you beautiful, a very plastic surgery focus. They had a TV screen where the TV shoe Let Me In was showing. They kept playing episodes where makeovers were done by Dr Lee.

After a short wait they took some X-Rays, no photos, It was less than what EverM did. Then a consultant lady comes in. She was very attractive and very enthusiastic and start giving recommendations from looking at my face. She was suggesting different things based on what I wanted. She felt Botox would be a good option along with mandible cut and contour. After a short wait it was on to meet Dr. Lee. He was very mild mannered and laid back, it was also late in the afternoon and he just got out of surgery. I went over my concerns and he touched my face and then showed my x-ray and made recommendations. He could understand what I was saying in English and responded to the translator in Korean. At first he felt my chin was ok and that a mandible cut and contour would be good enough, but then I mentioned I wanted a much softer look and then he suggested a chin T-Cut along with Mandible cut and contour. He didn't think I needed botox or muscle reduction. He felt the mandible cut and contour will reduce the muscle effect enough. This was different than what the consultant had mentioned. He was straight forward in recommending what would help and what would not be needed. He told me he would recommend not doing any type of zyogma reduction. I asked a few questions, then he had to excuse himself. So about 10-15 minutes with the doctor. This was another situation where it would have felt more comfortable if I could talk to the doctor directly in English so that we were both on the same page as far as expectations and what can be done.

After that I went into another room and had some Q&A with the consultant and then she started to talk price. She initially gave a price on the high side of 7M for the mandible reduction and 7M for the T-Osectomy for total of 14M. My host Bock Soon mentioned we went to other places and they charged lower. Eventually I bargained a bit more and felt they gave a very competitive price. This was after some negotiating. The consultant looked at her calendar as we were trying to get the price lower. Perhaps they have quotas etc. and maybe different times of month or year they give different prices. The total quote I got came in the range of about 10M Won. This is with cash discount of course.

9M - 10M Won seems to be the competitive market rate for a V-Line Mandible and Chin cut. It seems from word around you should always pay around this market rate anywhere. If they push anymore you can always find a good clinic that charges the market rate or less.

So after some thinking, I felt that both EverM and DAPRS could do a good job for this surgery. The DAPRS consult was a bit shorter and not as detailed with x-rays and photos,
but I felt Dr Lee has a good reputation with Jaw and Chin reduction and that DAPRS is a plastic surgery clinic that is known for producing dramatic change and pretty faces. EverM before and after photos also looked good. Since I came for plastic surgery and to get a prettier look, I decided to lean towards the plastic surgery clinic and chose DAPRS. I decided not to consult elsewhere as I felt I had two good options from reputable facial contouring clinics.

It seemed that the Doctors at both places didn't have much time for a long consult as they were on the move with patients etc. So I did feel it was hard to build some rapport with the doctor before deciding. I made a choice based on before and afters, talking to people here and from this forum.

I likely go into surgery tomorrow.

  8. Ok... So after Flying for 15 hours only to have my plane to Seoul delayed overnight in Tokyo, I finally landed in Seoul this morning. Took the 6009 bus which takes 1 hour to the Sinsa station area. Came in around 2:30 PM, was supposed to start consults at 10 AM.

Was warmly greeted at the Empathada residence by the host Mrs. Soon. Thinking that I would have to move my consult till tomorrow, I just gave in and said I would rest and maybe just walk around Gangnam. But shockingly Bock Soon said she can still take me to some clinics with whatever time is left.

I went up to my room which is on the small end compared to hotel rooms, and changed into my consultation attire, which i to look as pretty as possible yet be able to emphasize what I want to get done at the consults.

First stop is a short walk to EverM Dental Clinic. After the months of research and picturing what this place must look like, I finally set foot into a small older building, went up the elevator and into a nicely modern clinic. The girls at the front were very girl next door plain looking. They had a very warm vibe and had very cute mannerisms. You could tell that these girls may not have even had any surgery at all, by the way they looked.

I sat in the lobby and the girl next to me I later found out was a transsexual. I couldn't even tell at all! Maybe thats how good the surgery is there! I was quickly taken into an X ray room and went through all the steps. The consultant girl was so cute in the way she was trying her best to talk to me in English. I even had photographs taken from different angles. Then later I moved into another room where they used a PC and a Device to take additional photos of my face to put into a photo analysis program.

I waited about 10 minutes before Doctor Yoon arrived in the room. He was a very low key mild mannered man. He pointed out at my X rays and gave me actual measurements and dimension of what was making my Jaw so wide and chin broad. He showed that my Jaw muscles were twice as thick as what a normal range would be. He showed my square mandible angles and how my chin was more forward than it could be. He suggested a T-Cut osectomy along with Mandible reduction, and Masseter Muscle removal. He answered my questions through my host Bock Soon and drew on paper the process of how he would do the Bone cutting. He frequently referred to the computer models of my x ray to show what he would do. The ability to show how the surgery would be done on a computer with measurements and markups was very assuring and detailed enough to make me comfortable. After about a 15 minute consult, He excused himself and a consultant came in. She was very low key and pulled out a price sheet. She pointed to the sheet for prices of each of the procedures meaning that the prices at EverM are likely fixed.

Mandible Reduction, 5M won, T-Cut Osectomy - 4M, and 1M for Masseter muscle removal for a total of 10M. We said we would get back to her and we thanked her. Overall impression of EverM was that it seemed to be a Dental focused clinic, that also does some jaw surgeries. The emphasis didn't seem at all to be creating georgeous knock out looks. But the consultant showed several before and after sample photos, these also happen to be the ones on the website from my obsessive research. They definitely create noticible results. The consultant even asked if the goal was natural or dramatic change.

One thing that I obviously felt was even though I had the host helping me translate, it still would feel a lot more comfortable if the Doctor spoke English so that you can feel each other on the same page in regards to expectations and desired results.

Next It was off to DAPRS.

  9. Too subtle can be very subjective. If you are able to look at before and after photos and can see the difference, or if the Doctor can show you the difference in the before and after then that would make me feel ok.

Or ask friends to compare you before and after or look at your before and after. When I hear of girls looking at themselves in the mirror and thinking they got too subtle a result, it may mean they need other help besides cosmetic surgery, you will be your own worst judge at times.

If I can see a preview of what I will look like after or something close, or the doctor can show me what and how much he is changing or cutting, that would make me feel better.

  10. I guess thats a point that multiple surgeries two jaw/V-line/zyogma , fat graft eyes, can totally overhaul a face. Thats what I'm careful of when I look at total face transformations.

Also what surgeries show most dramatic changes. I'm wondering if its two jaw and Eyes.

  11. Looking at the before and after's on his site get me thinking what makes a Dramatic versus natural result. I start to wonder if its more the photoshopping, makeup and hair or the actual surgery.

He doesn't seem to have any extreme makeover type cases posted like other sites like an extreme masculine jaw to super feminine. Must be a reason behind all that.

  12. I actually think its good that you posted her hotel info. This gave her some new business at the hotel. She is also very highly rated on Airbnb and Booking.com reviews. So her name is out there already. Thanks for the tips I look forward to staying there. I think a host that help out deserves a bit of commission or something extra as long as its like reasonable and not like the $$$ making translator services.

  13. Let me guess DAPRS,JW,Faceline ? Thats what was offered to me. These are also very close to the residence. I'll be there on the 11th.

I think more clinics than we think we can get away with English.

  14. I plan to call a few more clinics before arriving in Korea with this service. This way I can hear directly from the horses mouth if a clinic gives commission to an interpreter at the clinic.

Its not like the phone interpreter is going to get a commission!

  15. The website is languageline.com . You open an account by going to sign up now. Put a credit card on the account and then they give you a pin. The charge is a per minute charge or you can get a monthly package etc. which is a lot cheaper if you are using it a lot.

You call a number toll free USA or a USA domestic number that can be dialed from anywhere in the world. Then you enter a Pin and state the language you want . Then you tell an operator what number you want to call. No minimum on the pay as you go service, just $3.95 per minute

You are connected to an interpreter first and explain what the call is about, then when ready you are connected to the number you are trying to reach(in Korea) Then the call starts.

Good question I wonder if you can create an account if you are not in the USA. But I found this through an internet search. There are many competing interpreter companies out there. I will look around and see if Language Line or another service can have accounts created if you are in another country besides USA.

  16. Greetings,

I just called EverM dental clinic regarding setting up an appointment. I used a Language Line interpreter service.

Its a pay per minute service like $3.95 per minute, not cheap, but ok for short calls etc.

I called the service told them the language korean, they connected me to a Korean interpreter who spoke very good english. I explained what I was trying to do, then connected the call to the clinic.

He spoke with the reception lady there and got some info for me. She said they do have someone at EverM that speaks English. I booked an appointment and that was it.

So I'm thinking I can even call the interpreter service while am in Korea if I'm at a clinic that doesn't have anyone.

    Just passing the experience.

  17. Some previoius formers have posted that they got the price for 10M for V-line and Zyogma.

8M was quote for V-line. You should get it for 8M according to previous posts from those that went there.

  18. Interesting I booked the same place comming on March 10th and hoping to consult on March 12th. Bock Soon was very helpful in helping set up appointments and the clinics are really close to the hotel. I'm sure we'll all see each other bandaged up!!
