  1. Thanks for all those details wishingstar! Given this is your third time getting a fat graft, it seems like it's acting more like temporary filler does? Rather than get more potential lipo scars and have to go under anesthesia which I personally find scary, have you considered just getting filler instead of fat graft? If this is something you'll have to do every year, I'd see if you can get the same result with filler.

I'd ask the clinic if they can provide you with any hydrogel dressings for your wound sites. The key with silicone sheets and hydrogels are they keep the healing environment moist unlike a dry bandage which pulls moisture away, so I'd slap one on as soon as you can and use vaseline or scar gel, remember to apply frequently throughout the day and night to keep it moist. If you do see a keloid forming, I'd see a derm right away to get steroid injection to reduce the size of the keloid and prevent it from getting bigger, it works best for fresh scar so do see a derm early. Good luck!

  2. I've heard some docs recommend that keeping the wound site moist by applying vaseline or similar product and using a hydrogel dressing which helps keep it moist as soon as possible can help prevent scar formation. Like you though, I've heard opinions vary on this. Given it scarred last time, I'd try a new approach compared to what you did before.

BTW how did the fat graft go? Where did you get it done and how much was it if you don't mind me asking? How long ago did you have the first and second grafts and was it the same clinic? Did all that fat from the original surgeries die so you performed it again? Did they give you a discount since the original fat died?

  3. They said thermage would melt the fat in addition to tightening the skin? I've heard fat loss could be an unwanted side effect of getting thermage if you just wanted tightening, this would confirm it can indeed cause fat loss.

Another option you should look into is CoolSculpt.

  4. So it's not something most places will do for in person consultations either? I saw the youtube video below and Answer PS did such a live photoshop for the patient. It seems to work best to demonstrate the change in his side profile of his nose, it just took the doc a few clicks: youtu.be/xzpIUoFsDCE?t=3m11s

IMO the real issue is it would take a lot of time and effort to have a pro do such a simulation for most procedures like eyes. Here's a sample of what's involved for more extensive work: youtu.be/xCyHUDyIZtk

  5. Sorry I can't help with any of your questions but do you mind if I pick your brain? I have flat cheeks as well and was considering filler to get some contour there to add definition to my face. It's hard to find any before or after pics of people like myself since for Korea, it seems when it comes to cheeks there it's always reduction. Do you know of any really good b&a pics where you use that as your model of what you want?

May I ask what type of filler do you get on your cheeks (Voluma?), how many units, and how much does it cost? Where do you get it done? You said you get refilled every 1.5 years but I read filler lasts much shorter than that.

Last question, do you think using filler on your cheeks made the skin looser so when the filler does wear off, you absolutely must get it refilled to avoid saggy looking skin? Thanks!

  6. Given that amount, I'd open a credit card which has no foreign transaction fees, even if there's an annual fee for the card, it'd be worth it in your case, you may want to cancel later though to avoid the fee every year. Another benefit of paying with a credit card is there's a chance you could dispute the charge later if there's problems. I haven't heard of any cases of that though with Asian PS.
