Hey! I got my v-line with zygoma reduction at regen last year. When they told me the price during consultation, It was a big high and I did read a couple of bad reviews online but the consultation with the surgeon gave me a bit more confidence than some of the other clinics. Don’t remember the original price, as got pretty fat discount They offer discounts if you set your surgery day and deposit 20% before coming for the surgery or if you give them a permission to post your pics on their sns. I think it was really good deal for me since I also got consultations from other places like Cinderella. They quoted me much more than at Regen… Not sure if I could get better results, as my lower face now looks just as I wanted.

Im thinking about UVOM, Banobagi, Regen, Namu, and View. I chose those places since comparatively I have not heard much bad cases so far in my research..
-What are you looking to correct, for instance if you want a really swooped high nose I think Cinderella & UVOM might be good to consider.
I am looking for swoop plus tipplasty of bulbous tip so that is why I chose the above places.
I havent made appointments though yet, I want to go with a group bc I dont speak korean. Im still doing research I guess I will know when I get there lol.

Hi Lucie, I am also trying to decide on a rhino revision. I am considering UVOM since I have heard good things about them on pf & kakao, although beware ppl just promoting places lol. Actually go to the sites and look at b/a, and also look at pictures that are not highly edited. Also during this time of year clinics are pretty busy I think, so best to have a plan before you travel over

As for F2F consults I read for a kakao chat that the best means of getting a discount is that get the prices of clinics that you may want to go to online under a false alias, so you can have an idea of the higher side of prices they will charge you. Have a goal of what exactley what procedures you want and the price you want to get down to, a recommendation is 50%-20% from the online consultation price (If you are braver go lower). Then once you are in korea visit the clinics without booking an appointment or making any deposit as this will hinder your ability to negotiate. Clinics may also use to their advantage , that if they know that you are already going with them that they can hike up the prices from original estimates due to "doctor's recommendations and patient's conditions". Most, if not all, clinics will cater to you almost immediately if you show up for a F2F consultation. Communicate with any other patients in the waiting room about their quote since you could have an idea how much they charge locals. Once F2F make sure that you are vocal about any price discomforts eg. "That's too high, I know someone else who had it lower", "That is out of my budget but I'd be happy to go here if we can got to a lower price", ect.
Of course, do not only base the clinic you chose based on price but foreigners are taken advantage of in this industry.
This is not exactly what the lovely girl said on the chat,nevertheless, I hope this could help someone. Any feed back to what I wrote and that could help other users is appreciated.

Well, rhinoplasty is a big surgery. And I wouldn't want to do any big surgeries in Korea with the popular clinics that offer them. However, I give exceptions to things like genioplasty, 2Jaw, or Vline at dental clinics and things like head augmentation at small/specialized clinics like Jogak. You get to actually build relationships with the doctors in your consultations.

If you can find small clinics like these that specialize and give solid results for rhinoplasty and eye surgeries (I haven't found any) then by all means go for it. And, don't tell me about Cocoline and Teium because they suck in my opinion.

Do you know off had of any small clinics that specialize in DES or Two jaw?
I really wanted to get all my surgeries done at once somewhere like Banobagi or Regen, but based on what you and others are saying is it better to do each surgery separate at a specialized place?

A bit about me: I live in California, USA. I’m 25 and male. I’m Indian, and quarter Middle Eastern…so I’m the other kind of Asian. Unfortunately I was born with a stupid skull shape officially called occipital plagiocephaly.

September 2017 – I wanted this surgery done. So I did research online and found 3 local options.

1) Barry Eppley – He offered a free video consult, so I took it. He seemed too positive, which is not a good sign. Also, he’s got a lot of complaints online which scared me. Just look it up on Google and you’ll see entire threads with a bunch of people complaining about botched results. Also a girl called Lucille Lacovelli filled a lawsuit against him, lost, and then committed suicide. So I didn’t want anything to do with him.

2) Youssef Tahari – He offered a free video consult too. His method didn’t seem too good for me. He suggested a bicoronal approach and inserting a silicone implant. This was bad because I didn’t want a scar over my head like that and I didn’t want a massive silicone implant in the back of my head.

3) Deschamps Braly – I called to set up an appointment, but their consultants appeared very snotty. They were quoting prices at $15,000 minimum and averaging at about $22,000. WTF. Also they refused to show any before and after pics due to BS reasons like “to protect the emotional state of their patients from the public”. They said I’d have to come into the consultation, which would cost me $600.

Basically all these options were too expensive and did not have convincing before and after results or testimonials.

October 2017 – I found out about purse forum. But they also didn’t have solid reviews detailing about this procedure. But I did find out some people mentioning ITEM clinic. They claimed that they could make a 2 inch incision and use bone cement (which is a lot safer than silicone) to reshape the head like a sculpture. I did a bit more research and I had my Korean Airbnb host Tony to help me out. I’ll write a separate post on Tony and how AMAZING he was in helping me. I booked the Korea Trip from Dec 21 2017 – Jan 1st 2018

I was able to find 4 clinics that offered to do the back of the head augmentation with bone cement.

1) Dec 22 2017 – Banobagi – Not very impressed. The doctor just said he could do it and didn’t go into further details. I also remember waiting for SO long but I felt let down in the actual meeting. Also, he did not show me any before and after pics. I crossed it off my list.

2) Dec 23 2017 – ITEM – I didn’t like the clinic itself, but Dr Jung was great. I enjoyed meeting him and he speaks very good English. I was close to choosing him but ITEM quoted at 8 mil KRW when over email they said it would be 6 mil KRW. They said they can reduce it to 7 mil KRW if we paid in hard cash. I wasted a lot of time trying to get this to work because, my bank had auto protect--I couldn’t withdraw such a large amount outside of America. This pissed both me and my Airbnb host Tony who acted as my translator off. So we crossed ITEM off. Also, I noticed a Youtube comment by a girl (Aja Ly) on Item’s YT video that didn’t like her results from Dr Jung. This was a bit upsetting.

3) Dec 26 2017 - BONEPS (Doctorbone) – Here’s a link to their site. http://doctorbone.co.kr/index.php?idx=hb/7

They are a local clinic that is not exposed to the outside. I found this out via Tony. The doctors were nice, but I didn’t like the before and after results.

4) Dec 27 2017 – JOGAK – This was it! I met Dr. Song. I liked this guy, his style, and his before and after. I immediately went for surgery. I paid around 6 million KRW. This clinic is a small clinic that SPECIALIZED in head augmentation. I love specialized clinics, so I knew this was the right place.

Surgery was easy. It was under local anesthesia. It’s literally like sculpting with clay. I wore a head cast and I was able to walk about. I went for Korean barbecue right after because I was so hungry.

I hope this helps! I know quite a few people who are following me through this journey. While I don’t have super perfect results, its still greatly improved. I look and feel normal now. I feel no difference texture wise. I’m so happy.

(Note, I usually don't wear my hair so short. I keep it long. I shave it sometimes but this time I kept it shaven just so I could help the surgeon out with the best possible outcome.)

What I'm having done is different than what you're doing (face lift/eye lids/ possible fat grafting) so while looking at a photo of a white girl on Regen's web site, it looked like they messed up her nose and her eyes looked strange/unnatural .A bit of a turn off for me. Hi! Thanks for the info. I will definitely be doing that too when I go this summer--research is key! I too am finding it is a balance between finding a locally reputable place and one that also has experience with surgery on foriegners.
The only site for credentials I know of is http://www.prskorea.co.kr/english/, basically it just tells you the dr's status of medical licence & what hospital they are currently at. Some drs are also on https://www.realself.com/, where it shows reviews and how many yrs experience they have.
If you wanted to go more in depth you could also go on ncbi to see if they are published in their field of surgery since would be a good indicator of their skill if they are involved/innovating in research.

All prices does not include 10%
They also took awhile to reply and when I sent them my pictures they started to offer Rhinoplasty and Fat Grafting which I wasn’t really interested in and said my main focus is V-line and Eyes....

Regen (one of my top choices)
V line- 11 million KRW
Incisional DES- 2.2 million KRW

There is also 30% if you hold surgery spot during consultation so the price came out to be cheaper and the consultant on WhatsApp was really nice in replying to all my questions.

View
V-line- 12 million KRW
Incisional DES- 2.5~3.4 million KRW

They also offer 30% off if you give before and after pictures. View was also quick to reply by email and answered all my questions.

MINE (one of my top choices)
V line- 5.6 million KRW
Incisional DES- 2.1 million KRW

This was the cheapest price I got and the consultant was also very nice. I’ve also read a good review on MINE in this forum which gave me a good impression.

TL Plastic Surgery
They advised me on the TL Trio package which includes
Zygoma reduction, chin and jaw reduction $16000 but if I deposit this month the price they give is $9000
Incisional DES = $1500

Also the consultant gave a special price of $10,000 all together. Price is tempting but I’m not gonna base this on a ‘good deal’ cause it is about quality. I’ve read some good reviews on TL and some bad ones like how a girl got her face paralysed there? It’s kinda putting me off....

DARPS
Zygoma reduction - 8-9 million KRW
Angular jaw reduction - 8-9 million KRW
Incisional DES- 2-6 million KRW

Prices they quoted were quite vague but I heard a lot of good reviews about this clinic. They were also very quick to reply on WhatsApp.

So far I’m thinking either MINE, Regen or maybe TL and DARPS. I also want like a dolly look so not just like a subtle change. Does anyone know which clinic is good for that?
I’ve also read that it’s best to go to Korea for face to face consultation and then book surgery rather than booking before and paying a deposit? TL want me to pay a deposit but I feel like I need a face to face consultation with them first.
And please share experiences!

I literally learned everything I know from PurseForum and talking to people that have had surgeries in Korea.

kakao, email or website all work for consultation in my opinion but if your schedule allows, I would allow yourself have a day or two for face to face consultations so you are not rushed. Thats why I changed my plan because I wanted to make sure I'm making the best decision on my own time.

My bad i think there is a Dr. Oh at regen who was suspended, i think he is different from Banobagi's Dr. Oh lol.
That is intiresting though about Dr. Lee, I had not really considered TFD since I havent heard much about them.
I'm currently considering these which specialize in 2jaw/maxiliofacial/jaw related surgery and have been reccomended often on here

Surgery Day!

The night before, I got a full night’s rest of 7 hours and had fasted for 12 hours. For some reason, I didn’t feel too nervous, maybe just a little anxious. Dr. Lee had one last quick consult with me before the surgery and then it was time to go to the operating room. The nurse walking me down asked if I was feeling nervous, but I was just mostly excited, to be honest. I’ve wanted this for so long, and I trusted Dr. Lee, so there was no need to worry. Your mindset is so important so you need to stay positive from beginning to end.

I laid down on the operating table, and before I knew it, I was fast asleep... I woke up having the nurses wheel me to my recovery room. I was told to focus on breathing because I need to breathe out the anesthesia. The first day was the hardest! I had one breathing tube down my nostril and at the time the only thing I was thinking about was my nose but I couldn’t feel it. There was blood coming out of it, as expected. It was hard to breathe and I felt very sleepy and tired. The inside of my throat was so sore and swollen with the tube down there and my mouth was rubber banded shut. The other challenge was to try not to choke on my spit and cough because of my swollen throat. Tilting my head back would also cause me to choke on spit. So I had to keep drooling out my saliva into tissue paper. I was also so thirsty but wasn’t allowed to have anything to drink until 8 hours. Those first eight hours were very challenging, but I was able to stay positive and push through. I was not able to sleep that night.

The next day was also very uncomfortable. I am able to drink some supplement drinks that the clinic provided. I needed to use a small syringe to drink. I had enough energy to text some of my friends. I also took some walks around the halls because I didn’t want to sit all day. Plus, being more active will help recovery. That day Dr. Lee came in to check on me and said that I was doing well. He said my swelling was not bad.

The second day after surgery, I was able to leave the clinic and went to my friend’s place to stay. I think I was not able to sleep until the fourth day. I don’t know how I just felt so alert! Maybe because I was just extra aware of the discomfort. I’ve been drinking a lot of juices, and protein shakes with milk. I also tried to drink some broth from soups because I was craving something savory. I had some tingling sensations which are normal, but luckily, I have all feelings in my face! I think Dr. Lee did a great job of preventing damage to the nerves. A few days later, I came back to the clinic to change the rubber bands and to clean the stitches. During my free time, I took a lot of walks around the neighborhood for at least 30 minutes every day. This was my exercise and walking helps with the swelling!

During my second checkup… Good news! Dr. Lee said that my current status is way better than his patients at this 1-week mark! The stitches are looking good and so is the swelling. Also, he said I could start eating soft foods at the two-week mark to be on the safe side. These would be things like some yogurt, scrambled eggs, and porridge. Also, there’s a good porridge place around Seoul called Bon Juk. I went there to eat a lot. Anyway, during this checkup, I was also given a red-light treatment to help with the swelling. It felt very warm and relaxing, I tried not to fall asleep. I remember asking Dr. Lee if the plates would cause the sensors to go off at the airport, but they wouldn’t because they are made of titanium. Other good news, my throat has healed up and I am not choking on spit anymore! This also makes sleeping so much easier. I’m starting to get more than just four hours at a time.

I had my last check up the following day and this time I had some small screws on the outside removed. Only four were left in place so that I could still use my rubber bands. It did not hurt at all to take out those screws, and after Dr. Lee showed me how to put on the rubber bands by myself. I asked him to take a look at my stitches because my friend made me laugh so much the night before. Everything thing was fine. The stitches will dissolve after about two weeks. I was already comfortable with not walking around with a mask now because the swelling has gone down more. During this week I lost so much weight, it’s crazy! I couldn’t wait to gain weight again and eat a lot.

As for eating, during the first 2 months in addition to blending anything I can, I would just mash things up into small pieces with my spoon and did more swallowing than chewing. I figured this isn’t good for the digestive system as it would be a lot of work for the stomach since I wasn’t chewing much and just mashing food with my tongue. I took enzyme supplements with every meal to help digest the absorb the food better. Also, I took some other supplements to try to help speed up the healing process. Some supplements I took, and am still taking are bromelain, vitamin c, turmeric, quercetin, along with daily multivitamins. These supplements are anti-inflammatory! During the first two weeks, I also used an arnica gel over my face at least three times a day. It is supposed to help with bruising and swelling. You might notice more swelling after eating because you are working the muscles.

Now, after 13-weeks after surgery, I am going to the gym regularly again. It is okay to start exercising after the first 4 weeks. But it was uncomfortable for me to lift heavy weights as I would feel the pressure build up in my face. I am eating more normal now! I’m able to bite into sandwiches and pizza. I am still staying away from hard foods like almonds and apples. As of now, I can still tell there is some residual swelling left, which is normal. I can't wait to see the changes after 12 more weeks! Right now I like my side profile. It is such a big improvement! I will attach pictures so that you can see the changes in swelling.

I do plan on visiting Seoul and Dr. Lee during my winter vacation coming up soon. So, I will update then! ^^

I'm going at TLPS this July... and i'm certain that I'm going there... guys before making any deposite make sure to ask them all the questions like the doctor of your choice, if there will be extra fees for CT Scan and Doctor fees, make sure that everything is clear and you have all the conversation in your email so just in case something is odd, then you can just simply your conversation which both of you agreed. I was also quoted $9k for zygoma, chin and jaw. And I told them which Doctor I want to do my surgery, I also asked several questions. They have real-time monitoring so we don't need to worry about swapping of doctors. If in case you are going alone just try to ask them if a friend could watch your surgery via skype or wifi or if you can have a copy of the whole procedure just to make sure that no doctor swapping happened.

Don't do any surgery when you are not sure, always make sure to ask before making deposits.

The rehabilitation wasn’t difficult at all. I spent 3 weeks in Seoul and in order to get rid of swelling faster I had to walk a lot, so I visited for several times Dongdaemun, Myeong dong and Gangnam – most important places for girls lol.
The overall time spent on full rehabilitation was about 6 months and the only difficult part for me was to follow the diet, as I like to eat so I exercise my mouth a lot to get better faster and a month and a half later I already could eat whatever I wanted lol.
A month after I returned to my daily activities, went to work, met friends and did everything around the house. It was banned to drink and smoke for 1 month and I decided to limit myself the second month as well in order to escape any complications, so it was just an advantage as I also could gave up with cigarettes During 2 months after the operation my face was swollen a bit more than usual in the morning, so I also started running before going to work.
No one can see even a sign of a proceeded surgery as everything looks very natural and I like my results. Now a have a face I always dreamt about
