  1. How long post op are you?

  2. Did the doctor in Belgium do skin only lip lift or muscle hemming?
It is good to hear your results have lasted. I have seen too many people end up with the same distance as they started just a year or two after the procedure.

I hear Hyundai also does muscle+skin but I do not see enough results to really go off of..I can't really trust SK after pics since they are so overly produced.

  3. If you really do want plastic surgery the most i'd suggest would be some sort of buccal fat removal. But you don't really need an overhaul or anything. Is there a look you are trying to emulate at all or what you dream to look like?
    I agree with everyone else!

I am a sucker for facial hair but I am not sure if the mustache suits you. Maybe at most a tiny bit under the chin. I don't want to impede on your own personal preferences (trust me, I know how annoying it gets when people obsess and nitpick over one part of your look you actually enjoy...), but do consider it!

  4. I just wanted to chime in and tell you that I am sorry for the way life has treated you. I can definitely relate to your story and it is horrible how people can treat others just based on appearance.

That said though..I do not see how you are ugly in any way! And I do not understand why people would mistreat you! I think you're very cute and have a nice face. Like others said, weight loss can help. But just from that picture alone I don't see any flaws that need addressing. I know people have said the same to me with my pictures though. But I suppose we are our own worst critics.

I wish you the best in your journey, but please think thoroughly before taking this big step!

  5. I have reached my wits end with US lip lift doctors, and I am learning certain clinics, such as Hyundai, specialize in lip lift/philtrum reduction procedures. Hyundai also tells me they do muscle and skin. However, I cannot find many long term results, and I'm paranoid as ever.

Has anyone gotten a lip lift in Korea? Have the results lasted? Is it worth a shot, or should I still stick to the US?

  6. I saw a giant master post on reddit (either the trans sub or the plastic surgery sub, I forget which) that I'd need to dig up again that had a bunch of stuff on censorship and deletion. But here is one I did find

I also see complaints a lot about a past admin named Angie who would attack users for bad reviews, but as far as I know she is no longer on the real self team. Maybe things have improved. I don't know.

But again, I recall clicking links to botched surgery reviews to realself on TPF and them 404'ing. I figure it was either realself or maybe clinics contacting patients to request takedowns, which I know some surgeons do.

I know that probably isn't "factual" enough or a satisfactory answer though. If one thing's for certain though, realself is full of fakes, that much is true. I haven't been on this forum long enough to know exactly what stories people are referring to (and it's a pretty big one at that) so I can't really provide anything beyond that. Sorry if that's not enough. But I don't really want to turn this into a giant back and forth about real self either. Whether people want to trust TFD based on this ongoing argument is up to them really.

  7. I don't know if I'm thinking of the same post but I remember finding some stories on this forum about botched jobs with links to Realself for full reviews, but when I clicked on the link it 'didn't exist'. Keep in mind Realself deletes negative reviews A LOT (or at least used to). So that might be why no receipts have been provided

  8. That is a shame to hear. I am currently trying to research the best method and what lasts the longest. It seems like the muscle hemming technique lasts longest. Dr. Rodriguez also kept emphasizing the importance of a good anchoring point for a long lasting lift but I just can't get over the scarring horror stories.

So far I've seen ONE review (3 years post op) saying the lip dropped down already. Not sure how old the person was. I want to be optimistic and think everyone else was satisfied and went on living but I can't help but think they're just under oath of "no bad reviews" if there was some droppage down the way. Makes me wish I could shell out $10k+ one time for a "guaranteed" long lasting result with Haworth instead of constant revisions but I don't have that kinda money.

How long did it take for yours to revert back to the way it was?

(Also I hope it doesn't seem like I'm missing your point with the rest of your post. I am inclined to agree with you. I just wanted to know...)

  9. Yeah I've tried reaching out to a few on realself but no reply (I've noticed people usually drop off this site..). Might try reddit. I've browsed susans.org briefly and saw one case too. I did see one who went to Deschamps-Braly who had sagging and recently got a facelift though.

Hey that's my plan as well. V-line + masseter botox at TFD sometime in 2020, not sure yet. I am ready to accept the sagging too and budget for it. My jaw is so screwy that this is something I really need to do. I just hope it's worth it and the facelift actually lasts. I'm glad Dr. Lee is a bit more conservative than most Korean doctors though.

  10. I've heard a lot of horror stories about Spiegel, and that his cost comes from reputation and ego and that he doesn't actually do much in terms of dramatic results, and that his forehead work is awful. Also stories about students operating on patients. I'm very sorry you had to go through that and my heart goes out to you. I've researched some FFS stuff myself and hear that Deschamps-Braly is also good for forehead work.

I'm looking into The Face Dental and I hear Dr. Lee is fairly conservative, which makes me feel a bit safer cuz I don't wanna become a Black Pink singer and then magically age 10 years in the course of a year. But I am seeing a lot of stuff all around the forum saying that even a little bit of bone reduction will cause sagging no matter what. My jaw is so screwy that I really want this done but it sucks there is so much potential complication down the road....

  11. So as I continue my journey for v-line & lower face contour, I have obviously ran into the great worry about face sagging.

I feel like every person I come across has talked about face sagging after v-line. But whenever I see instances of male-to-female transgender people undergoing facial feminization surgery (including jaw/chin shaving), there are never devastating effects or complaints of premature aging & sagging. They say it is all worth it, at worst botched hairline or nose, but never face sag.

It's all the same--just cutting bone, right? I would think since you are starting with a man, who has stronger & bigger bones, there would be more sag because more bone removed to become a woman. Do biologically male individuals just have better skin elasticity and durability compared to biological women? Do Korean methods just cause more issues since they are generally less conservative and unafraid of risk? As far as I know, nobody in the US or EU does true v-line.

I still cannot tell whether going to Korea for FC or finding someone who specializes in FFS in another country is the way to go. Any thoughts on this?

  12. I think I am going to consult EU dental anyway just to keep more options open. And I also hear EverM is good. I should probably stick with dental clinics and maxillofacial surgeons right?

  13. I am going to be consulting with Dr. James Pearson and Dr. Rafizadeh because I need more options and they are both free through Realself. I will let you know how they go. As far as I know both their prices have gone up over the years and are around $5k. I've seen nothing but positives about Dr. Pearson and apparently Dr. Talei praises him. Dr. R I see lots of mixed things about but he also fixes some other lip lift doctors' works.

I am seeing more and more reviews about lips and the scar dropping back down over the years and I am almost reconsidering this. Anyone who has had a lip lift have long lasting results or know of anyone?

  14. Hello! I am very thankful for finding this forum. I am new to Korean plastic surgery, but after hitting many roadblocks and being generally unimpressed with US doctors I wanted to give it a shot.

I suffer from a very asymmetrical jaw. My bite is fine, it is a matter of my bones. One side of my mandible is very bulky and positioned lower, whereas my right is slender and proportionate, positioned a bit higher up. The angles that form my chin are off balance due to this anatomical issue. I have been having trouble searching because I feel I am stuck right between the category of "wanting aesthetic results" and "actual dental/anatomical issue". Meaning, I do not have any dental issues or jaw misalignment, but it also is not a simple matter of "my face is symmetrical and normal but I want a v-line look to look like an idol". I believe it is a big issue for appearance that I really want to address, but does not warrant orthognatic or anything. So, I am torn between a "plastic surgeon" and a "dental surgeon"...but I do feel like a dental/maxillofacial surgeon is the safer way to go.

So far, I have consulted Dr. Lee with The Face Dental and I like him a lot! He suggests v-line, genioplasty and masseter reduction. My quote was 6.6 krw. He doesn't think two jaw would be a good idea for me since it doesn't jut out very far.

I am sold on him, due to his natural results, expertise in the area, and his English fluency. I have seen his name pop up a lot here and have seen mostly positive results as well. But would anyone have any other suggestions of clinics to check out? Or any other info or experiences with TFD?

I am very skeptical with big clinics that photoshop and over promote, especially ones that do not focus primarily on maxillofacial regions. I also am not Asian, so I do not want the typical K-pop look. But I also fear since my anatomy is so strange that I will just end up getting weirder and more asymmetrical results. Should I have more faith in these clinics?

I want to get this done sometime next year or the year after (before I get too old and am at higher risk for sagging...). Any advice or suggestions/stories are appreciated!

  15. Darn, as soon as I saw these he actually replied on Skype. But after I sent my pictures, I got no response. I'm hoping he's just busy and I didn't scare him off with my face! I am considering making a facebook for easier communication but I feel bad spamming him in two places at once ToT

  16. I've consulted with Dr. Rodriguez and Dr. Mascaro and am torn between them. Dr. Rodriguez has a lot of experience but all the reviews I see of his have complaints about scars well down the line. Dr. Mascaro has good scarring results but I heard bad rumors about the legitimacy of his reviews and patients with bad results being censored.

I was considering Ben Talei but sadly I cannot begin to cover the Beverly Hills price tag, but I've heard good things about him.

Dr. Haworth in Beverly Hills I hear also does them a lot, but he does muscle hemming and is even more expensive than Talei. I'm talking over $10k. I've heard horror stories about muscle hemming lip lifts too so that drove me away from him.

Dr. Spiegel in Boston also has some decent results, but he is very conservative with a higher price tag (cheaper than Talei but still up there, around $5k-$6k).
