  1. Awesome! And I've booked a surgery for February next year!

  2. WOW FINALLY A REVIEW! thanks so much for taking the time out to do. review. Could I ask who your Dr was, and how your overall experience was in terms of Dr and staff politeness. And what was the service like in general? Any perks they for you? Thanks in advance!

  3. I found all the clinics through ALOT of research, in the west we call them cheek implants but i found out that alot of korean hospitals refer to them as front cheek augmentation, or frontal zygoma implants, so it was alot of work!!!! And i understand what you mean by having artificial implants in your body, I really didn't want a silicon implant in my nasal bridge but thats how it turned out i guess. BTW, if youre thinking about fat transfer, I've heard ALOT of people like hyundai clinic for that procedure. I'm going to them later this year for lip surgery and if you havent had anything done by that time I'll let you know what the clinics like since there arent much english reviews on it =)

  4. BTW! other clinics such as VIP plastic surgery, girin plastic surgery said that they dont do cheek implants since theyre unnatural and offered fat transfer. i had a problem with this for several reasons, first of all they shouldn't be advertising a procedure on their website if theyre not going to offer it in a consultation. and second of all- cheek implants are only going to be unnnatural if not placed properly. in my own very personal opinion, fat transfer looks more unnatural since theres no bone like definition where their should be, its just a big pillow of fat on your face which will later sag if youre not getting constant top ups. (THESE ARE JUST MY OPINIONS SO DONT ATTACK ME HAHA)

  5. I HAVE! its called VG plastic surgery. and theyre saying itll cost 6,000,000 korean won for cheekimplants. theyre silicon, and they use screws (which is what i want). the consultant was really nice, but im having difficulty trying to find reviews on the clinic. like both positive or negative reviews. there were other clinics which offered implants. TL plastic surgery is charging 6000 USD for medpor implants. Im not going there since i dont want medpor (its really hard to remove and is more prone to infection) otherwise they wouldve charged 5300USD for gortex (no idea why the price difference). DA plastic surgery offered 6.6 millioni korean won for silicon implants which are screwed in which i prefer however theyre not custom made which is why i chose not to go to them. i feel as if Korean cheek implants won't be large enough for my goals. Cooki plastic surgery didnt offer me a price for cheek implants and said they'll quote me at the hospital. Dont know if it's just me but thats a red flag if they cant at least give an estimation. Finally, Regen plastic surgery offers custom made silicon implants which are screwed in so everythings good with that and the price was even a little cheaper at 5,800,000 Korean won. The consultant was really helpful too and she told me how because theyre custom made I'd have to have a consultation earlier so that they implants can be made (which i thought was really cool and i could trust they were actually custom made!) The ONLY reason why im not sure about regen is because i've heard some botched stories from the hospital. This is really worrying, and although most of the botched surgeries were bone work (vline etc), its just the idea that its the same Dr that might be performing on me for whatever reason. So.... Regen is still an option for me, but im 95% sure I'll go to VG plastic surgery for my cheek implants as well as fat pad removal to make the cheekbones more prominent. my kakao talk is- paddypuru2000 if you plan on getting cheek implants, I'll keep you updated with how everything goes =)

  6. I'm going to download and use the app since I can't find a clinic for cheek implants, there's just so many giving different information. Thanks for the tip.

  7. CONSIDER YOURSELF LUCKY, SILICON IMPLANTS WILL GIVE YOU HEIGHT, and i reckon you could get away with just getting an implant and tiplasty. itll probably be alot cheaper! since you dont need all of the procedures required to remove cartilage and bone. i really recommend you at least messaging answer plastic surgery. dr choi is really good at using silicon implants, i have one in my nose and it feels very natural! =) GOODLUCK!

  8. i decided to do a full on experience since no one has ever done that for this clinic, which is why I had the same struggle finding one for myself. As I mentioned before, I first found the clinic by Edward Avila (famous youtuber) vlog videos in this clinic. Watching his videos along with a couple of other experiences of foreigners may I add, I grew a huge interest in this clinic since it wasnt huge, but you could see they took care of him. Then I went to answer plastic surgery's website, which confirmed the doctor had the credentials and experience, his clinic is also Government approved, and his clinic is directly outside Gangnam station. for those of you who dont know, the closer something is to a station the higher the tax rates they pay to keep the building there, so obviously this clinic is doing something right. The clinic also has a 100 percent clean record regarding malpractise. regardless whether you think im advertising the dude or not, you cant deny these facts. neither did I, thats why i went with him! =)
The main reason why I chose this clinic wasnt for the price, or for anything other than the Dr. I didnt want to fly all the way from NZ to Korea and end up botched. NO THANKYOU! Dr Choi works with a lot of foreigners and on his website it said that half of his patients were foreigners. I didn't know whether to believe this or not, but when I arrived, damn Im sure I heard other languages more than I heard Korean lmao. This again proves that Dr Choi is attracting foreigners with FOREIGN ANATOMY. I wanted to go to a Dr who had experience with foreign anatomy. If you look on Seoul Guide Medical (some kind of agency that helps find a clinic), answer plastic surgery is at the top of the list. I didn't end up going through this agency because the clinic itself offered free airport pick up and translation plus aftercare. If it sounds like im advertising, sorry it comes out that way, i just feel I need to give my true and LONG experience at this clinic since NO ONE has ever done that before. btw, the clinic does not give discounts for these kind of reviews.
Plus I dont think the clinic would be too happy if it heard some of the stuff I said loool. hope this helps.

  9. hi really good question, I went to South Korea a couple months ago to get my nose done. And that was my biggest fear, the doctor not knowing my anatomy and botching me. I want a natural result and not a tiny Korean nose. Keep in mind I'm a native new zealander so my nose is farrrrrrr from the typical Korean nose. I'll share the link to another thread in which I gave my really detailed experience at a Korean hospital. Warning, it's bloody long

  10. yeah im aware that there arent alot of reviews. Even when I was looking for clinics I found this frustrating, but you are seeing more people review this clinic on the facebook page and on google reviews. In my honest opinion this is for two reasons. The first is that the clinic doesn't pay people to write false reviews which alot of hospitals will do. This clinic from experience was really honest and gave me results without having to bribe me. The second reason is that its considered a 'local' clinic rather than a large one like id hospital, banobagi etc. I prefer the smaller local clinics as they promise quality over quantity. My doctor was the best in his fields and had a clinic to himself. He was fully responsible for every single patient of his. The prices might be a tad more expensive, but you dont risk being botched haha.

  11. Im not getting paid to write this review, heck theyll never know I even wrote it. But its up to you where you go, let me tell you this. You will be in extremely good adn EXPERIENCED hands with Dr Choi at answer plastic surgery. Thats for sure. Remember that this clinic has one year warranty on surgery =)

  12. Hi guys, I have been to answer plastic surgery clinic for rhinoplasty. so before I begin, please let me know ANY questions regarding this clinic and I'll gladly let you in on my knowledge hehe! Where do i begin??? I found the clinic on you tube with Edward Avila and his nose job. Lets get this straight, Edward and I have extremely extremely different noses! Im a native New Zealander and we have very large bony noses with big humps and droopy nasal tips. I went to answer plastic surgery since Dr Choi only performs a maximum of two surgeries each day. some clinics do more than five per doctor, horrible i know! I wanted my doctor to be refreshed and not tired. Anyway let me talk you through my process.

I first gotta hold of them on Facebook messenger which was super handy and they were able to offer me a 'estimated price' for my rhinoplasty. They offered FREE airport pickup which was a bonus, and led light therapy to reduce swelling!

After looking at other clinics, due to several factors I decided to go to Answer. Keep in mind, Dr Choi is the only DR at this clinic, so he knows he is fully responsible for every single patient. Some hospitals have so many Dr's i cant even keep track lol.

I think it was the night before my surgery I got a message from my English speaking consultant reminding me not to eat 8 hours prior, which at that time I was so nervous I didn't even think about eating haha!

The day of surgery, wow let me tell you this, give yourself enough time to find the clinic, I got lost and was almost late to my surgery hahahaha, Gangnam alone is so much bigger than where I come from and I was travelling alone.

When i entered the clinic the first thing I noticed was that it was extremely clean, and the receptionists who in my opinion... were very much... 'worked on' let me just say that, if im totally honest with you, I didn't really like the receptionists they seemed quite moody, but I didnt actually talk to them, when you go to Answer plastic surgery clinic, you dont have to do anything, the consultant will meet you and take you through every step of the way. Theres not one moment where you have to speak Korean or do anything by thought which I found super helpful

Now onto the consultants. There were two or three consultants which I met, their job was to stand by myside through the whole process, they helped translate with the Dr, they held my hand when I was getting put under which was kinda scary, if anyone wants to know just let me know below otherwise you dont need to hear haha. After surgery the consultant will take you down to the first level of the building where the chemist is and help you get the right medicine (bring money for this since its not included in the price- if i remember it was like $30 bucks or something- really cheap) And since you cant drive you have to get picked up. I was so scared to look for a bus or train after getting lost on my way to the clinic so I asked if the consultant would help call a taxi, and with NO HESITATION she said OF COURSE! Not only did she take me to the side of the road, she walked me under the station and to the total opposite side of the road so that the taxi would be faster and cheaper since that was the direction it would go. This was totally not necessary, but I really appreciated her assistance, she was so caring!

Okay rewind prior to meeting the consultant, before surgery, she took me to a private room to get dressed. The same one Edward got dressed in. Guys, the pant and shirt were purple.... floral.... and pretty. Im 6.3 so it was a little... odd hahahaha! I didnt mind though. So after i got changed, they asked if i could go to the bathroom just to make sure I was absolutely empty haha. After that they took me to a room to discuss things like expectations, and what I wanted to happen. I had to sign things etc... Then one of the plastic receptionists (oops) came and took my blood pressure which was too high so they gave me this pill thing to drop it apparently. Damn I really wished that lady had tried to speak English, a simple Hello wouldve made me feel much better, well at least I ahd my friendly consultant to tell me my blood pressure was too high hahahaha. After I got the pass, I went to the Drs office for my consultation. He felt my nose, inside and out, took photos and did that computer editing thing where I can get an idea of what my nose might look like after surgery. It was cool, but guys, I personally dont trust those things. Rhinoplasty is a tricky surgery and I dont think a computer editing can actually give an accurate idea of what your nose will look like. Anyway, the Dr answered any questions I had, he was very patient and didnt rush me or anything, and didnt try tell me I should have other work done! I was kinda confused when I first met the Dr since he seemed to be really kinda moody. He didn't have a big smile on his face, he didn't ask how I was or anything like that- maybe its just because I'm from New Zealand and to do that is kinda rude. BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT. in saying that, he was extremely professional. he did take his time and was extremely patient when i had questions etc. He DID NOT rush me at all, and made it very clear what he'd do in the surgery. I'd rather a somewhat reserved doctor who does his job really well than a smiley doctor who leaves you botched. ANYDAY!

Finally after the consultation, I had to pay, I paid in cash since if you pay cash you won't need to pay tax. Here's the funny thing, the cost at the clinic was a little higher than the estimation since a little more had to be done to my nose than expected. The thing is, I didnt bring enough cash and I was so scared I went pale. The consultant saw that I was freaking out so she said dont worry, we'll find a way. I ended up paying what I had at the clinic and then paying the remaining $400 the next day during my first check up. I was so grateful to the Dr who let me do this, but also to the consultant for being able to tell I was freaking out lmao. After paying (kind of), i was taken to the surgery room. I scheduled the consultation the same day as my surgery since its easier that way for me. I was scheduled for my surgery at 2.30 if i can remember clearly but there was a slight delay due to the prior patient (remember there are only two patients each day and I was the second). Wow, the room was very clean! I wont go into detail about the process from here, but I woke up in another room and the consultant brought me some pumpkin porridge and pumpkin juice. I really enjoyed the stuff so my consultant sneaked some extra pouches in my bag for me haha! YUM

Okay was the first day good enough? Anyway second day... not much to say other than the checkup where the Dr made sure everything was healing well, the nurses gave me some kind of shot probably antibiotics or something and I had a light therapy to reduce swelling which was cool! I had one more of these 'checkups' two days ahead of that.

Finally my last checkup on the seventh day was when he removed everything for good.

As for results.... Immediately, I wanted to cry. Initially i really really hated my nose. It was due to swelling, but im very impatient and want to see results immediately. I kept telling myself, just hold up man and let your body do its thanggg. It can take up to a year and a half for my type of nose (thick skin and oily) to heal and I'm upset at seven days???? Get. with. it!

Anyway, pass a week, and my nose looks 'better', pass two weeks and my nose looks 'fine enough to go outside', pass three weeks and I'm kinda shocked at how nice its starting to look. Its been a while since my surgery and I like my nose... A LOT. Is it perfectly straight and perfectly pointy? Not exactly. Is it wayyyyy straighter and wayyyy pointier than before? HECK YES The thing is not to go into surgery with unrealistic expectations. Im happy with my nose now because it looks natural, it fits my face nicely and and I can breathe so much better! To the comment earlier mentioning how Edward Avila's nose looks fake, i do think a lot of that is due to his preference and maybe even the way he contours his bones. Me and my nose is evidence that Dr Choi is extremely talented and will give you natural results if thats what youre after. Keep in mind, rhinoplasty is Dr Chois specialty and safety is his priority!

    Now onto ratings....
    Price- 9/10
Clinic- 10/10 (great location and very clean facilities)
    Staff- 8.5/10
    Consultants 20/10 (lol)
Dr's bedside manner 8/10 (coming from a New Zealander)
Results- really hard to say. 9/10?? (on one hand it is such a huge improvement I cant even tell you how grateful I am to Dr Choi, on the other hand me and my unrealistic expectations want a perfect nose... aint gonna happen ahah)

So please feel free to ask ANY questions regarding Answer plastic surgery. I'll gladly answer them. I feel so cool that Im one of the only patients who has reviewed the clinic in such detail. call me king! hahaha

My overall experience was fantastic, and any negative thoughts I have of it is due to cultural differences between South Korea and here in New Zealand. =)
