  1. hi! Yes it’s my first ever surgery.. and my first eyelid surgery
I’m healing very well, i like my eyes now.. finally it’s not swollen anymore after almost 3 months post-op look so natural!
Hmm.. i cannot recommend anyone, i dont think one person guide me through everything, ellen is the best for english & knowledgeability.. i like the chinese translator tho.. i forgot the name, she still help me when elisabeth not around

  2. Hi, i’d like to give back after getting so much helpful information at PF
This forums really help me decide on which clinic to go and tips and trick for PS newbies like me

this is my before after, i got no creases whatsover
And the after photo was taken exactly 1 month after the incision DES & PTOSIS surgery with Dr.Seo MVP
I was glad & happy that i got a successful result, i like it and it’s finally a bit normal to go out (not much people gonna stare you right in the eyes)

I’ll be off PF for a while after this to catch up with life
Hope you have successful results in whatever procedure you’re going through

    thank you peps!

  3. Hi
I’ll be happy to answer some of your question based on my experience last week

    1. i carry cash, i know some people can pay with credit card and some people have problem with their card
    3. Kakao taxi need to use korean letter, so prepare to learn how to write korean & add korean keyboard on your phone.. or maybe just ask help from someone to type
I usually just hail taxi (the light is off when they hv passengers but red/green they still took you)
I use my homecountry simcard and pay roaming fee for internet
I heard about the wifi egg

    4. My mom accompanied me on this trip and i tried to accompany her go shopping around the area (i stayed very close to Garosugil area) And we go back early so i can do my regular ice pack compress and sleep
maybe you need to find accommodation near shopping district so they can walk around while you rest for recovery

    5. my clinic gave me a tax refund slip on the last day, i just went to scan the barcode & pasport before immigration and go search for “global tax refund” counter After you pass immigration

    6. yes i heard that peak season are school holidays & winter
And i also heard that summer are the worst

and please pack some bromaline to reduce the swelling
Korean addresses of your clinic & accomodation is a MUST
If you want to go like Myeongdong, I usually just google the nearest hotel name and find the korean address to show the taxi driver

    I hope it helps!

  4. I’ll add airport transport info :

Based on my experience the easiest way to go from airport-your accomodation is using blacklink taxi (they arrange pick up/drop off service)

Airport - hotel/airbnb : express train (nonstop to seoul station) and take taxi to your accomodation

hotel/airbnb - airport : using blacklink service (provided by the clinic free of charge) but i found they have an website so you can book it easily
The car are spacious, driver really nice.. he even pick me up right in front of my apartment door and help me bring the luggage downstairs

  5. Hi!
I’m just back from doing DES, i might know how nervous you feel days before going SK and probably reading forums like crazy (i did that :P)

    Have fun in Korea!
hope you choose a great doctor you trust and may you have a very successful surgery ☺️
Let me know if you hv any question on transportation etc, i’ll be happy to save you an hour of browsings ☺️

i went to MVP with dr.Seo for DES+ptosis correction
Very happy with their service & aftercare
Result still very swollen so i cannot say much, but i’m already happy to know that i dont need to redo any ptosis correction

  6. S
    Keep looking
Or maybe you can just tell them your budget so they can arrange something for you

My incisional eyelid surgery cost less than that
But i also heard someone at IVE was charged a lot more than you for non-incisional

I dunno how they quote us foreigners.. i know we pay twice the price of locals but it’s soo diverse

You need to do more research to know the standard price for the surgery you’re intrested in

is it only for the non-incisional? No ptosis?

  7. i did my surgery on 29 nov 2019
And remove stitches on day 5 (4 dec )
    Very recently
I saw youtube videos that ITEM is very popular among locals (they’re not sponsored i think)
Located in one big tower buildings with starbucks etc.. it’s nearby my airbnb and i passby several time

abt the ptosis yes, the consultant at mvp also warn me about that but luckily my eyes turn out good, dr.Seo did a good job with my ptosis, so i dont need to do any correction

  8. The day after surgery you’ll feel so sleepy and hungry
day 1 : i went to myeongdong and regret my decision right away, my eyes feel so heavy and hot
Day 2 : i just walk around the area, still bearable but you’ll easily get tired

day 3-5 : you’ll feel fine and i went shopping like a lot but it’s gonna be quite tiring for your eyes so better hv spare time to nap/ relax
Just don’t overdo yourself i agree with wishingstar ☺️

I think 12 days will be fine, i went for 8 days
I consult right away from airport and do surgery the next day, took 5 days to remove my incision stitches and going back on day 6

  9. I find that 7eleven across the road have a quite good food for quick breakfast & dinner when you’re feeling lazy

i always bought the lunch box there for a quick bfast so that i can eat my morning medicine
Every lunchbox have a microwave logo & their time usually 1min 40sec to heat
    And expired date (2 days)
Pls check it especially when you’re buying at night to reheat the next morning
i reheat using microwave in my airbnb*
    4000-5000 krw *
they also have a instant porridge, but i find it’s too bland for my taste

Nearby have 2/3 coffee shop and serve breads, across the road (next to 7eleven) there’s a fancy coffee shop serve cakes (but i prefer rice, so 711 it is! )

it’s quite hard to find breakfast in the area
And i don’t really eat breakfast except when i need to eat my medicine

  10. I’m staying at Hana Airbnb #2 room.. they have 2 studio in this apartement building

the place called “saeyang Apex Tower” it’s a studio apartement with lift
I find the place quite spacious with floor heater, refrigerator, kitchen and microwave
Basicly have everything here and feels like home

it’s very near (10 min walking distance) to Garosugil area : hip place for food & shops mostly local

downstairs also have CU minimarket & coffee.. 7eleven across the road

    hope this helps

  11. I didn’t ask where she know about IVE, but i found IVE from purseforum / review someone from kakao have a very good result

I agree with you, after i come to korea i feel like every people have different experiences with every clinic
Some people have high expectations and some hv low expectations
It also makes me hesitate to share my review as well.. maybe it’s best to never recommend certain clinic because everyone will have different experience

Yes, I tried to share my experience since i read lots of complaints about waiting time
Which i find weird, i did wait a little before surgery but they always keep me busy like filling the form and such
But i tought it’s normal? This is my very first surgery so i have very low standard

I’m still recovering and couldn’t say much about the result

  12. I’ll made a list for anyone who’s planning to do surgery in Apgujeong area based on my experience
Will update when i found another good place!

Google maps & uber are sucks in korea
    Use - Naver Maps -
And for taxi use - Kakao Taxi -

when i first arrived in incheon, i took express train to Seoul Station and take taxi to my Airbnb (prepare the korean address)
Pls note that the train have 2 type : all stop & express to seoul station
The express train took around 40min

I stayed for 7 days at Saeyang Apex tower (Hana airbnb)
Downstairs they have minimarkets & coffee shop

but i found it’s quite hard to find a good food around during recovery
(I didnt follow the most food restrictions.. i only avoid seafood & very spicy food )

the apex tower are very near to Garosugil road (10 min walking)
Cross the street in front of apex and turn left and walk along the road until you can see the sign

they have so many shops for clothing and cosmetics, mostly local brand (olive & young as well) at the end of the road you’ll find “the alley” famous bobba milk tea
The building before the alley have a decent korean restaurant (i find the beef bulgogi sweet and nice)

Most of the local food & restaurant are behind the main street
I just found “ Saemaeul Sikdang Nonhyeon main store” serve really good bulgogi pork ❤️
Ia famous chain restaurant run by celebrity Mr.Park

behind the nonhyeon-road where the most clinic are located (for my case MVP)
have a lots of food as well
I really like the BHC fried chicken with cheese powder
It’s soo good! But comes in big portion (choose between 8pcs chicken / 8pcs drumstick / 9pcs wings)

I did went to Myeongdong and shop around lotte shopping mall (they hv 3 connecting building)
But it’s kinda hard to find taxi

I realize that koreans didnt use taxi apps (like in my country) most of them just hail
But good luck hailing taxi in very crowded touristy area

I believe we should have fun and eat good food during recovery / waiting for our stitches to be removed

I hope it helps anyone who’s confuse & nervous like me when i first planning this trip

let me know if you have some questions! I’ll be happy to answer

  13. Hi, i’m 3 days post op incisional + ptosis correction at MVP with Dr.Seo
I’m so happy i found your thread.. i was so stressed since my eyes so swollen and they even ask me to come again for extra deswelling treatment tomorrow

i bought bromaline but i couldnt find any arnica cream / tablet in pharmacy i visited

the Elisabeth you guys prefers are no longer around.. it’s now thai girl with the same Elisabeth name
I found her english is not that good.. Ellen the head international manager however have the most understandable english

  14. Hi, i just want to share
My friend (from kakao chat) we’re now currently at korea doing eyelid surgery so we share & chat quite a lot

she done the non-incision + ptosis correction at IVE and she need to redo one eyelid because the ptosis correction are not balance after few days healing

I don’t say that Dr at IVE done a bad job, at least they tell her to fix right away before leaving (i dont know how much longer she will stay or such but i hope she’s healing fine)

but I wouldnt want to redo my eyes after few days healing and need to go through all the swollen all over again

Maybe it’s normal for us who do ptosis correction to redo one eye

Luckily my incisional DES + ptosis correction turns fine at different clinic
Im still very much swollen and will remove my stiches day after tmr

I used to feel like maybe i’ve done a bad desicion choosing clinic right away before consulting to 2-3 clinics (IVE was on my list) but i was kinda relieved not choosing IVE when i heard she need to do correction on 1 eye again

it’s very hard to choose a clinic & doctors in korea
Maybe it’s a matter of luck

I sincerely hope all of our surgery turns out successful wherever clinic we choose! ❤️

  15. I’m just done my DES at MVP last friday
I cannot comment anything about the result since my eyes are still swollen

but for me the after care was great
I didnt get the free airport transport (they didnt promise me) i only heard about it
I didnt wait long for the consultation & surgery or even the aftercare
I came super early like 1hr before the schedule and they can get me in right away to do the swelling treatment etc

they never complain and always smiling

I got a very cheap price tbh, they didnt ask me to write review and such.. they just gave me cheap price with lots of adds on treatment for my mom because i think they’re happy that i come right away to MVP when i landed in seoul
And i also DIDNT pay any deposit

I feel 1/10 pain during surgery, when i flinch Dr. Seo instructing the nurse to gave me more sedatives and my left eye more swollen because i remember he fix it again after he done the stitches maybe because not balance and such

i feel the most pain when they took the bloodtest.. the nurse on 2nd floor so rushing and my arm numb for the whole day after that

  16. Whoa UVOM just quote me 5.5 Mil for DES + Protosis + Epi

“For the costs, an incisional eyelid surgery costs 2.5 million won and if you add ptosis correction, it‘ll cost 1million won added. And an epicanthoplasty is 2 million won. And you can get a discount from this price if there is no change on the surgery plan after in-person consultation

Especially at the moment we are on the promotional period. if you agree to cooperate us with our promotion, we'll offer 30% discount. Also if you make an appointment on the same day after the consultation or send a deposit to reserve the surgery in advance, we'll give you an additional discount as a thank you for the decision you make

i dont think the marketing strategy works on me its a bummer and i think i’ll avoid UVOM for now
