lucasjohnson Posted Tuesday at 06:22 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:22 PM I am planning a trip to Korea for surgery and I am thinking about recovery logistics, not the procedure itself. I will be staying in a small Seoul studio for about two weeks after discharge, and the room is close to a busy street. I keep reading that recovery spaces should have clean air, and I came across the PuroAir 240 as a two-pack option. I do not have personal experience with this purifier, and the specs are third-party information I found online. My concern is whether two units in a small studio is overkill or actually useful during recovery, and whether the noise level matters for sleeping. For anyone who has recovered in a Seoul apartment, did you run a purifier at night, and did it help with dust or odors? I would like input from people who have actually dealt with post-op recovery spaces before I decide. Update after looking around more - PuroAir 240 HEPA Air Purifier 2-Pack Review https://ratethepick.com/product/puroair-240-hepa-air-purifier-2-pack kept coming up for the two-pack option. Still not sure two units make sense in a small studio or if the fan noise would bother me at night while recovering, so I'm leaning toward starting with one. Quote
lucasjohnson Posted Tuesday at 06:23 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 06:23 PM A two-pack in a small Seoul studio seems like more than you need. My bigger concern would be nighttime noise: on a low fan setting most bedroom-sized units are tolerable, but two running at once can add up in a compact room. I'd probably start with one placed away from the bed, and only add a second if dust near the street-facing window is clearly a problem. I did see a third-party review for a related model, PuroAir 130i Smart HEPA Air Purifier Review https://ratethepick.com/product/puroair-130i-smart-hepa-air-purifier-review, though I can't speak to the 240. Has anyone actually slept with one running through the night? Quote

bevinii Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I have never heard of needing an air purifier for recovery. Not once. This must be a very niche choice. The only context I heard it mentioned was during fine dust or yellow dust seasons. It is worth noting that more modern hotels have built in purifiers and many of them offer portable ones, as well as ones that can be rented from other businesses. Quote
