Back to topic, According to Dr Chuang when i met him previously, Its the eyebrow implants that changes a person from "Asian-like" to "European-like", the nose plays minimal or no part in changing the person's looks racially. Ancient beings who are wise don't act arrogant. She got eyebrow implants? I didn't even realize that was an option or even a procedure done. I mean. What must she have been thinking. So she did purposely change it then. I never understood why she denies it (or so I hear ). Its pretty obvious... And as for the nose.. Its hard imagining that kind of nose... But when I said I didn't want her kind of nose job, I meant one that was done so ask to make her nose look like...a straight edge ruler that in some pictures, is quite see-through-ish And to PinkSuadeSoho, this is just my personal choice. I really hate hearing "Asians beautiful the way they are" as if my race is full of beautiful beings because we're seen as "exotic". I don't like my nose, just because I'm Asian doesn't mean I wouldn't/shouldn't change it. I can't speak for anyone else. But yea, just my personal choice. And there are a few clinics who can do eyelash implant, so i'm abit worried when you decide to go to a clinic because they can do eyelash implant? If you are thinking of doing eyelash implant, go try and find a copy of 2nd issue of Beauty and Plastic Surgery magazine. They have an article about this, comes with explanation and pictures. I know you are the one who posted the link, and i am not targetting you. I'm speaking my mind in general. I didn't read all pages in this thread, but from what i gather, it seems like no one had actually done surgeries themselves and still here in this thread to help you guys. In Singapore expat there are, so questions might be answered faster. And again, as ocean11 and I always tells forumers in Singapore expat, we are not doctors, and we cannot give you professional advises. We can only share with you our knowledges. I don't know about cartilage, but as mine is L implant i can tell you that yes, i cannot do piggy nose (pushing nose tip upwards). If you play alot of high impact sports and have high chance of someone bumping into you, don't i will suggest you don't do any nose job. You won't want to keep going back to the surgeon to push your implant back in place right? I am very gentle with my nose. I also do not know how big is my implant, as i leave everything under my surgeon's hands. BTW, there was one girl (Reenchan) here who did have her nose done by Dr. Jung in Korea, and simply raved about him and how well her nose turned out. Been seriously thinking about going to him. Now I'm really confused... :blink: The Korean surgeons like Dr. Kim of BK and Dr. Jung warn against L implants regardless of your nose tip because of the possibility of extrusion, so why would the Taiwan surgeons recommend it? I'm pretty active too, though not into sports like keropi. I don't know how gentle I can be with my nose. Don't want to be bumping and grinding on the dance floor, and then out shoots my L implant if I get smacked in the face... lol! I think everyone here so far wants an I-shaped implant with goretex and autologous cartilage for the tip. Is that still true for everybody, or did I miss something? maskd2003 and shoe_girl, if you guys are serious about Taiwan, you might want to look into this further. I think I'm still leaning towards Korea. I guess it's partly b/c I'm obsessed with k-actresses. They are just so pretty like Jeon Ji Hyun, Song Hye Gyo, and Son Yae Jin, to name a few. And also b/c surgeons like Dr. Chuang in Taiwan and even Dr. Lam in the US tout that they've studied under some famous KOREAN surgeon, so I rather go to the master instead of the apprentice, though I'm sure these other surgeons who very well qualified. What I personally gathered from his consultation is that Gortex is made of highly flexible sheets--He does not use either L or I shaped implants! Meaning, his implants do NOT extend to the tip of the nose. Cartilage grafts extend the tip, preserving the nose's natural structure ( 3 parts, different flexibilities). The Gortex consists of highly flexible and light sheets that need to be sewn together custom by the surgeon. This would explain why it is so hard to shape Gortex over Silicone. He says silicone literally could take 5 min--Goretex takes an hour and a half and costs WAY more for a teeny piece vs. silicone which is like 5 bucks. He says I would be able to do piggy nose and play contact sports later. His technique is very subtle and natural, however. If you want a caucasian type nose bridge, it's prolly not going to happen unless your face is made for it. He doesn't seem money hungry. I asked him if I needed other surgeries, and he said most likely no, but he'd have to feel my face to be sure. He said "most likely, save your money." He is really great and so is his staff. I am considering eyelid surgery along with my nose job. I already have double eyelids (thanks mom and dad!) but I just want to make the crease higher and more pronounced. Will not consider epicanthy because I read it leaves scars that can we quite noticeable. In the Singapore forum, I think I read someone saying that nose and eyelid surgeries can change 80% of your appearance, while any other facial surgeries only have a minor impact. maskd2003 Posted February 23, 2007 Share Posted February 23, 2007 Jovin, I've done my eyes before... and I plan to just define the tip of my nose, no implant, nothing else... botox, and eyelash implants... I was impressed by LRclinic because the doc is very impressive by his background... studied in Korea, went to the US and did research at a top medical school, Emory...etc. Best of all, he responded to me, and told me that there were procedures that I shouldn't consider... very different from some of the other docs that I spoke with.... thanks for your concern! Robinh, the two docs: Dr. Park from Ozclinic, and Dr. Kim from BK clinic hey... you said that you wanted to get your lid higher? well... my mom (naturally has single lid ...got her genes :s , dad has huge double lidded eyes.. sis got his) just added this tape to her eyes really often at night, and it turned to double lid naturally over time. This doesn't usually happen for people with single lid because their lid is too thick... but since you have double lid already (usually means thinner lid), there are lots of people who I know that put the tape on in the evenings and eventually, naturally, you end up with a higher lid... heck... I know it would work on me, but I don't want a higher one.. doc did it perfect for my size eye.. Just place the eylelid tape a teensy bit higher than where your natural fold is while looking down... and then just wear it while watching tv (don't wear it in public; people can tell), whatever... this tape is hard to find in the US, except on eBay... but, it's the same thing as transparent first aid tape:Buy Nexcare First Aid Tape with Dispenser, Gentle Paper, 3/4 in. x 288 in. Online at drugstore.com about 3 bucks at your local drugstore... just cut it into a thin strip... or you can cut the sticky part of a bandage and use that...
