Just so you guys know, I think I'm going to go to LRclinic all the way, for everything... I don't know if shoe_girl wants to go there too... she may go to another clinic on the street... which is still super convenient.

oh yea.. LRclinic does goretex too... for those who would like to know about the material that they can use.

I asked Dr. Jong from LRclinic why he rarely does face bone shaving anymore. I guess before when he served at a hospital, he did it really often... but you have to have REALLY good postoperative care for this.
Also, I guess it is extremely stressful on both the patient and doctor. Plus, he said, for pretty much most people can do face shaping without this procedure.

His background is impressive, research all around the world, worked in hospital, and then has had his own clinic since 2004. he's been on Taiwan tv and magazine article. But, best of all, out of all of the docs I've spoken with, he's one of two docs that have expressed care and attention to me rather than the money. The other doc is the American one that Wgirl is going to.

i didnt actually get to meet the surgeons there. that place was the first one i went to accompanied by my mum and the b4 and after shots looked pretty damn good. if i can remember correctly we didnt go back because we werent sure if the dr spoke english, i recall for sure that the receptionist had pretty poor/nonexistent english ability and putting that together, we didnt want to go 2 a place where we couldnt communicate.

ooo... I really like the new template...

Hey, I'd like to send out a shout... Is there anyone who wants to join me to Taiwan for plastic surgery... shoe_girl may back out because of timing issues... very sad... she was really nice... really would like someone to go with me.

I have already contacted the docs, and Dr. Chuang is very well known and worked for Jelim before and trained under Dr. Jung... and he is very affordable...

I want to go sometime in May...

Wanted to wish you well maskd2003, hope you get exactly what you want!! :o)

I was talking to my friend living in S. Korea and she told me there's this surgery franchise called 코예쁜병원 or something like that that does very well. They only specialize on the nose and actresses go there. She's going to ask her friends for more details like a web-site and such, so I'll post when I get more information.

Hi all~ I'm new to this purseblog and like most of you , i'm trying to find a good doctor because I want to get my nose done in April- coming up but I still have NOO idea where I should go.
Julabula,I tried to search for that place but I only came up with 예쁜미인성형외과. is that the one?
trying to find a good doctor is soo hard! I've been trying to do some research on the internet but no luck yet. I'm fortunate because I can read and write in Korean but the problem is, there is a lot of fake "patients" trying to promote certain hospitals so I don't know what to believe.
i've done research on the hospitals people have named on this thread but as well known as they are, there's a number of horror stories I've read from the people who's been there. For example, Jaelim - I've read people strongly caution not to go there because the doctors have messed up a lot of surgeries and they don't even take responsibility. same with BK, dream, etc.
I've read up on Foryou, which nobody has mentioned on this thread yet but it seems like a decent place from the stuff I've read in their daum cafe and its main homepage. I've tried to email people who's written post-surgery comments but no one's replied back to me. soooo frustrating!
How are you other people coming along in your search for a good plastic surgeon?
It's so hard trying to find all the information and sources on-line!!

Hi Kimchi,

I like Kimchi too!

Assuming you are in the US right now, I would suggest you find a good doctor in California that has a LOT of experience in Asian noses. Come to find out, the procedures truly differ when it comes to an Asian nose...

After reading A LOT, it seems that Dr. Jung may be the only one to go to.
The important things to note is this. If you go to Korea, depending on what you want to do, it will cost the SAME... if not more.
Let's just assume:
1000 for air ticket
500 for food and shopping (conservative assumption)
4000 (if you go to a nose specialist such as Dr. Jung)
200 medicine, special care products
300 if you stay for a week and a half at a cheap place
---------
total: 6000
This is the cost of a nose job in the US... unless you are doing other procedures, it's not worth the travel. Especially depending on what you want, it may not be worth it... like if you only want tiplasty.

A girl from this forum, she pmed me earlier this week, just got done with Dr. Lam, same doc in the youtube attachments that I posted... and she is very happy.

Even Dr. Jung, famous Korean nose doctor says that the skill from the US doctors are not matched in Korea...take a look at his perception page. but I must say still that most US doctors do not have a lot of experience with asian noses. Experience is VERY key to nose jobs as they are the most difficult plastic procedure. Make sure the doc has a specialty in rhinoplasty. If he does not, forget about it.
I know a white woman who went in only for tiplasty and she had to get it done a total of 4 times (different docs each time) because they kept messing it up.

If you are set in going to Korea... I would say you need to talk to the Koreans there, preferably one who has gone through a nose job. Otherwise, you really won't truly know...

Hi Kimchi! Ur so lucky u can read korean, cause there's so many webites that dont have much eng but r all in korean, I was really considering Dream Sugery clinic cause they do mostly closed method and with the hi-tech equipment, u'd think they're one of the best (I know Dr Jung is one of the best for open method surgery). So wat horror stories did u hear about them? I'm sure all of us wd really wana know cause I dont think any of us can read korean. Have u checked out the websites of the popular ones then? Like with Dream clinic, all the info is in korean. Ive tried emailing them, several times! and they never got back to me! I mean, they're obviously not bothered about foreign clients. Man, I never knew it was gona be soo difficult to find just one doctor who cd go a good nose job (closed method!)

keropijennifer,

I hope all of you who are intending to go to Korea all very good luck!!! It's a good thing that most of you are planning for the winter. Turns out it is really good for healing!
It is very hard to know and/or tell about anything overseas unfortunately... but I wish you all the best! I know Korea has a lot of great plastic surgeons with lots of experience! Too bad most of them are so busy!!!

I just wanted to know why Keropi, you want closed. You can't get as good as a result with closed, because it gives the doctor so much less control. And, also, the skin of Asians is thick.. so with open you have less issues with scarring. Scarring on an Asian nose can be really bad because it is so thick it can actually result in a larger nose because of "in between scarring."
I guess the healing would definitely be faster... but chances are your results won't be as nice.

Anyway, you guys probably know what you want so I'll stop butting in... :P

read the techniques section
http://www.cosmeticplasticsurgerystatistics.com/rhinoplasty.html

Everyone hope the best for me and my friend and hopefully I'll have some good real experience to share with you ladies and a few gents!
