I got the cut & stitch method. One eye crease is alot darker & redder right now but it's slowly going away.

The doctor I went to is Dr. Tang in Houston, Tx.

Maskd2003 - Is the doctor your talking about Dr. Kim? I researched alot of asian doctors and he was one that popped up. His procedures cost quite a bit more than other doctors. :wtf:

thanks for the suggestion! which dr. is it? and where?

if he is really good, then i would consider him.
the only thing that kind of bothers me is that ive seen a lot more botched results in the states than ones from korea.
but i dont think plastic surgery is something to b frugal with (so long as u'r not totalllllly ripped off).. i guess it just gives me more peace o mind. hehe. but if u have a website or contact info of the dr. then i would like to know it! thank u!~*

US Docs (that are good at double eyelid):

Dr. Sam Lam:
He is in TX. He charges 2800 for epi and double eyelid together. Take a look at his testimonial video for the eyelid.

Dr. Charles S. Lee:
He is California. ($2900) If you go on youtube, and search asian plastic surgery tyra banks; there is a girl who is his work in the video... very pretty.

Dr. Frank Meronk:
He's in California too. $3700
http://www.drmeronk.com/asian-eyelid.html
He is the most famous eyelid specialist the states... just does eyelids.

And, mine is going to be:
Georgia $1600 for double 2000 for epi and double.

The thing with this procedure is:
Not enough American doctors have experience with it. Though it is a relatively easy procedure, they have performed on few patients. And, Asians are different. the skin thickness, scarring behavior, etc. For instance, never opt for a doc who will use laser cutting as opposed to scalpel. Asians are more prone to scarring from a laser.

Some docs in the US however know the latest techniques, and have done a good amount of patients. The main difficulty for many US docs is knowing how to choose the best height and shape for the crease, and how much to take out. If they have experience, it should be fine.

Kimosa, is this the same Dr. Kim? 1600 is too much? or did he quote you something else? What's the average price you found?

Yep, that's the same Dr. Kim I was thinking of. $1600 is not that much but combined with the $4000 nosejob from him it was a bit more than I could afford right now. It wasn't impossible but then my friend told me about the Dr. she went to which is the one I decided on.

My friend kept telling me her Dr. was really good and does a natural job for a fraction of the cost. So I went with him instead & I hope I don't regret it.

I'm glad you mentioned the thing about the laser cut vs. the regular knife cut because I was thinking I should of went to the other doctor since he did laser for the same price but now that kinda puts my mind at ease that laser scars are more noticeable.

Kimosa,

Don't worry too much about your eyes... If you've seen the healing process photos I posted on the eyes earlier... you'll know why.

Also, after a couple of months, you may not feel the same way about the silicone implant. Mine's doing great, and they are intended for forever.

My procedures total was about $2300. My friend had went to the same doctor as well.

Two more days till I get these nose stitches taken out. I think I've been messing with the stitches a bit b/c they grew about 1 or 2 millimeters from last week lol

hey, thanks for the contact infos! but i am really not a fan of dr. meronk and dr. charles lee's work!! dr. meronk is known to be sloppy, and charles' method is too 'fleshy' looking >.<

ill check out the other 2 dr's though!

the method i want is only medial epicanthoplasty-just cutting the inner corners of the eye to make it look bigger.. ill be leaving my crease alone, ive seen a lot of dr. park's (oz clinic) on this particular procedure and the results all look really good! ive been corresponding with him via email and it costs about $600 usd.

example of medial epicanthoplasty:

the eye just looks so much more "open" and awake~! yipee..cant wait.. hehe

that epicanthoplasty does look impressive in the making the overall shape of the eye look nicer, but it looks kinda painful, like an area that can swell up easily.. can you imagine whilst healing and you have some tears and its strings the wound.. ouch! but looks nice

Hey lvluv and meowgirl,

I think medial epi is when they pull your skin just a little towards the nose (no snipping at the eye-don't worry) to reveal the duct area. This makes the eye look bigger. And, I think the swelling is minimal especially compared with double eyelid incisional procedure.
But, just so you know, when you look at the entire face, some people's eyes look too close together afterwards. Some people suit this procedure, and others don't.

haha... I like the Korean before and after pics... these girls always know how to put on makeup... especially for instance on the BK website before and afters, makes the results look even better... with the pretty pretty eyelash extensions... haha... of course long perfected curved eyelashes alone are going to make the eyes look amazing...

Lvluv, thanks for the info on the docs!

Kimosa,

Did you do anything else other than nose implant... like alar reduction, tip refinement, etc?
I'm just wondering if you did open or closed procedure. My doc always said when you put in an implant, it should always be open to ensure correct placement.

I don't mean to worry you...

My procedure was open and I just needed the bridge enhanced, nothing else. Actually I'm pretty worried now because I believe I got a bad job done.

Last night, I realize that inside my left nostril I can see the white part of the implant!! Meaning in my right nostril if I put my finger in it's kinda fleshy inside but the other nostril doesn't have the fleshy part in between, just the white part of the implant.

I really believe this doctor did a bad job. I'm trying to contact doctors in Korea but they hardly email you back. I am planning on getting my nose redone over there even if that means flying over there ASAP. I'm just glad I found this out now instead of down the line.

Well I go in Tuesday to see him but I'm going to try to see him today.

Is it normal still 10 days after to still feel like my muscles are straining to open my eyes all the way? I hope he didn't mess up my eyelids too :crybaby:

Actually, I know a girl who got hers done here in the US from a well known doctor; spent a lot... and the same thing happened to her... but I think her's was goretex.. but yea... she said she could see it through her nostril. It was no big deal and somehow she got it fixed when she pointed it out... I'm not sure what they did to fix it, but it was something very minor...

ugh... yea... but you definitely shouldn't be seeing the implant... so sorry girl. That sucks..
I assume you know Korean, then... Good luck!!!
