Hi,

It's good you getting I'm touch with several clinic before you make your decision. While Id mentionnto be a specialist in facial contouring and two jaw, it would help if you seek second opinionn before making your final decision.

To answer some of your questions,

I did email Id several week before I arrive in Korea to get an estimate of time I would need to stay in Korea for entirety of 2 jaw surgery. There mention that it take about a week to create the mold for the jaws and 2 weeks after the surgery. So it's 3 weeks altogether. If you could afford to stay longer that woud be great. But 3 week minimum. The duration is very conflicting between Bano and Id. While dr oh suggest that I stayed 3 week after the surgery, dr park have no issue with 2 weeks. It seem dr park at id are more confident with their post op approach to let you go back on the second week as oppose to Bano who insist that you stay for 3 week the very least. But I think you can go back after 2 weeks. The reason why Bano insisted that I stayed another week is because i will only be here for 3 weeks, and it takes Bano 2 weeks to create the mold and model while it only take id 1 week to create the model. So for Bano is 2 weeks to create the mold and 2 weeks for recovery. As for I'd, it's one week for model and 2 weeks for recovery. Id has a separate orthodontic division in Another building nearby where it is dedicated for orthodontic treatment. There is a. Entire team dedicated to orthodontic care. I'm not sure if Bano is the same. Either Bano is too choke full of patient that it takes took a full 2 weeks to prepare the mold for my case, or their skill is not up to par when it comes to doing 2 jaw surgery. I can only guess at this time point since no one In our group is doing 2 jaw at Bano. So 3 weeks is tight but doable. You have to make your decision in a day or 2 if you staying for 3 weeks. Even if you decide to stay for 4 weeks, I would still suggest you make up your mind in a day or 2 so you the clinic can schedule your surgery earlier and you have more time to recovery in Korea.

You would definely need orthodontic treatment after your surgery. But its not immediate. You can start orthodontic treatment after a month or so after your surgery. But you would need it. The thing with surgery first approach is that dr park is the pioneer in this field. So he suggest that that you follow up your orthodontic treatment in clinic as well, Which could be a real hassle if you can't travel that often. I ask if I could follow up my orthodontic treatment back home, but he doesn't suggest it in the beginning of of your treatment since an orthondondist has to be trained in the SFOA. That mea you have to come back to korea once every 2 months then every 3 months. Once your teeth is stabilize, then you can continue the rest of your treatment back home. Personally I have no issue with coming back on a regular basis to have my orthodontic treatment. But like everything else, I woud like to seek a second opinion before I shell out an additional 6.5 million for the orthodontic treatment. I have talk to surgeon at Bano and BK and there all have no issue with me doing th orthodontic treatment back home. So after the surgery, i will go back and seek orthodontic advice. If it's true that local orthodontist can"t do the orthodontic treatment, then I will come back to do the treatment at Id. Dr park is the pioneer is of the surgery first approach. So I would suggest you talk to dr park first before you do the braces first. Depending on the severity of your teeth, if you the braces before. Surgery, it will make your bite worse.

I agree with the dr lee. Come to Korea and seek consultation first. You need an x ray and bone scan to determine your case before surgeon can provide any kind of advice. No I have never heard of dr lee, just dr park. I comsulted with dr park. But that's because my case is right up his alley. If you had done thing like nose or eyes, it will be another specialist.

ID doesn't provide guest house. But you can stayed in their hospital for up to 4 nights. After which there will send you to a hotel or guest house of your choice. Unfortunately there ain't any. Cheap hotel near Id. You so you would have to settle for some place a bit further. I currently staying at bang rang hostel, a back packer motel. It's good if you can get a single room with toilet for the entirety of your stayed during recovery. But if not, it's going to be quite inconvience for you to share room with other people and share the shower and toilet with other people as well.

Hope this help.

Regards

Hi Caitlin, thanks for replying again  I'm thinking of visiting jewelry because of your good experience w them. Such a pity Zoe can't be w me. I'm thinking, since they've a Chinese translator, I should be able to communicate w them. But as you said, the head consultant only speaks Korean right? (sad) I hope they can give me good price and good after results.

Would u be able to send me your before and after results? You may block out your features for privacy. I really wanna see how dramatic they can go in terms of maximum facial reduction. I'm thinking of 8~9mm w/o sagging of course. I'd be so grateful if u could help!

[email protected]

Thanks~! x

Hey Guys, so i've been doing ALOT of research into this, considering plastic surgery is a pretty big decision!!!!

So i want to get my nose and eyelids done!...

I'm kind of leaning towards BK and Oz... BUT would love first hand info or details of your experiences!! ....

ie when u book with a company, do they arrange everything for you?.. do they come pick u up from the airport? take you to your hotel? and transfer you between the hotel and clinic ?...

i'm just a tad worried that if i don't sort this out before i decide to o over, i will be HELPLESS in korea. !!! eeekk...

having said that, are/is there anyone also getting stuff done around December 2012/Jan 2013? cause i need a travelling buddy to go through this together with!!!!!!

Thanks HEAPS!

Glad to be able to help, I don't know my results yet because I'm still swelling but I am please with them and am very confident because all the staffs from their reception counter to their nurses are very pretty like lee da hae and all done by their surgeons (marketing strategy) but done well... You can be assured prices are okay if you 1. Do not mention prices first, let them quote. Then you give your budget..I like the way their head consultant worked out the budget with me... You can pay by credit card too without any additional 10% ... I would definitely recommend everyone to their clinic for eyes.. But facial contouring I don't know yet.. But so far my friends mentioned being able to tell my face is smaller by a lot already ... Anyway.. To be sure... Please look for an experienced doctor first and then hear what he has to say, so you can understand what surgeries you need.. Because for my face, dr oh and the dr hong from jewelry mentioned the same thing.. They both suggested I shortened my chin and undergo mandible...
But my friend, she did eyes with jewelry(we were together for both consultations ) got different opinions like banobagi's eye doctor did not recommend lateral, and jewelry 's doctor recommended , and oh my I must say I am impressed and will come back to do my eyes with jewelry! I really liked how long her eyes are now.. Very natural...

Oily nose after Rhinoplasty

Guys, just want to share what I've experienced after post-op. (Currently 27 days post-op.)

I noticed that my nose has been quite oily. At first, I thought it was the change in weather (From cold Korea to humid SG), or because I already have oily t-zone. But then I noticed that the oil is more concentrated on the nose. Even with makeup, the oil will be on the surface.

Goggled and found out that it's actually quite common. Some will even have dry nose. I hope mine will go away after 4 - 6 months.

http://www.plasticsurgeryspot.com/nose-surgery-primary-revision-rhinoplasty/1342-oily-nose-post-op.html

My oily nose situation is easily managed. I have to use more blotting paper, oil control skincare products and oil control makeup for that area. Wonder if anyone else is experiencing the same thing?
