asian nose job 2

Recommended Posts

Haha that sounds kind of similar to my nose shape, although mine is not very bulbous. My bridge, however, is not so tall, but I am interested in getting my nose done similar to Han Ga In or Park Han Byul's. I hope I can find a surgeon who eould be capable of doing this
How did the alarplasty turn out? I would also like my alars brought in just a tiny bit but I've seen so many pictures of people who have done this procedure and end up with a really pinched and unnatural look. :/

It looks like Han Ga In has a bit of an upturned nose. I think it should be fairly easy to recreate her nose if yours is not very bulbous to begin with.

I don't know how I feel about the alarplasty yet. You can always request them not to touch the alars, as 1) the projection will slim down your nostrils and 2) you can go to a surgeon who specializes in alarplasty after the rhinoplasty.

Thank you. It does comfort me to hear you say that. I am glad to know that the fat did not fully absorbed. My chin currently have a lump there. Gonna go to the clinic ask them if that is normal or that means the fat in that area is dying. One thing I have to admit is that fat graft does change the shape of my face. I did not recognize myself when I came out from the surgery room.

Hmm I'll definitely have to discuss all this with my surgeon... I'm so anxious to get my nose done from reading all of these reviews!! But it doesn't look like I'll be able to get around to it until this winter at the earliest
I also hope that he could reproduce her nose, although perhaps not quite so tall. I think for her, the height of her nose works, but it might look out of place on me... Plus it would totally freak out all of my family and friends! :P

I´m glad you like your new nose! I´m curious about your alars...what about it makes you unsure about them? Where is your scar on the alars, and did your have a wide base w your nostrils before?
Happy healing!

And btw I am too really jealous about how much fun the whole group now are having in Seoul!

The alar base is supposed to be parallel with the inner corners of your eyes. My nose was previously very flat, bulbous, and wide, but it was always aligned with my inner corners.

Most doctors I consulted with have said that I should not touch the alars, so I was a bit surprised when I saw that he did that procedure on me. I am unsure because I have a cast on, and I am swollen. Maybe I am also weirded out because I haven't been wearing makeup for so long, too.

So I can't judge for at least one month til now. Right now, it is still properly aligned with the inner corners of my eyes, I think the alars are just 'turned' more sideways. There is no scar, although there are stitches on the corners of the alars.

My mom knows a doctor who is 'only' good with alar - he performs silicone implants too but she does not recommend him for alarplasty. That is why I suggested to another poster that she can always just do the rhinoplasty first, and then wait a few months, then do the alar separately with another surgeon.

And yes I am grateful to have our new friends here  It has been a nice 'vacation' for me, and so good to have their support.

Hi, seeing for believing. Could you share some photos of the bump you are talking about. It will be kept strictly private. Please direct it to: [email protected] Thanks.

Has anyone heard of Noble Clinic with Dr Koh ? According to Kara (a local girl who helps girls from the plastc surgery forums) he's famous in Korea. I'm interested in having lower legs liposuction with him, if anyone has any information about him, it would be very helpful.
Their site is in Korean, so I don't understand much : http://www.petit.co.kr/

my lip was a bit numb for over a week. atm, i have full feeling in my chin and lips again except for the part that is directly in front of the incision site (i have feeling on the skin, but its lightly numb on the flesh/gum surrounding the incision) but i just gotta be patient.

part of the reason my radix was so high was because i had a sort of zit/bump form after they took out the kwire. ii also had swelling. it took 3 or4 weeks until i was happy with my radix. i ddint spend much time looking at my nose in between those weeks though.
i think my bridge looks smaller and slimmer than it did before.
it sorta depends on your nose though. if it is your nasal bones that make it look wide, then that wont change (it might deswell if there is swelling in that area). but if it is the implant, then there might be deswelling and cartilage that is going to reabsorb.

what did dr lee say?

All the places in the US and UK say to use rib for bridge raising, nothing about silicon or goretex so I think you are all right about using rib at VIP. If I want that done then I'll have to wait until next year (only two weeks vacation time left this year). To be honest I am considering just getting it done in the UK now. I don't trust Dr Jung. They won't answer any of my questions directly. Just "oh dr Jung has performed 200,000 rhinos so don't worry about his experience" and when I asked for information on the anaesthetist (anasthesiologist for you in the US) he avoided me completely and just said I'd be under sleeping anaesthesia. Not good to avoid these questions. I just don't think I'll be getting the level of communication I desire from anywhere else except a western doc. Maybe I'll look into the US. Korea was attractive since they specialist in Asian noses but since I've been on this forum I've discovered the change I want is a lot more subtle than I originally thought.

But thanks everyone for helping out, talking to me, and I'll stay on here in case I change my mind and to see how everyone is doing

Bisousx I am so excited for you and can't wait to see your new nose!

Hi bisousx, I am glad that Dr. Lee was able to give you good projection. This is one most difficult thing to do and many surgeon in the state either won't or can't do it. At least for those that I consulted with. BTW, do yoou think your lip is thinner because of the Paranasal implant, does it make your lip rotate forward a bit so it looks like it is smaller. I noticed the same thing on Kain, it turned out pretty good tho'.

I couldn't agree with you more. Let me clarify that the bump is about a size of a piece of sand or little bit smaller that kinda get stuck under the skin, right? If that is the one you see, I had the same bumps from my last two rip surgeries, they didn't go away and the bumps got sharper and more obvious as time went by as you deswell. I wanted to mentioned it earlier but didn't want to dishearten the nice folks here who had gone thru so much, and with so much hope of their nose job, to be disappointed so soon after the surgery. The bump is a cartilage graft from the rib that if the rib was not shaved correctly, it sort of peeled and formed the bump. Dr. Rizk in NY talked about the a tool or tecnique that would reduce such bumps, check it out from his website. I sensed that Dr. Lee was sort of rush and didn't do a good job preparing the rib for the bridge. Further, I am disappointed at Joann's response that it will absorb and go away, because it mostly won't. I think she just want people to quit asking about that. The good news is it not a hugh problem, you could have your surgeon shave it away, it will be a revision but a very minor one. You could probably have it done in the state and you don't need a specialist to do that for you. Hope this help.

Yes it is thinner, but they say that it will return to normal once the swelling goes down (in a bout 1 month)
