Hey everybody,

I am just wondering whether anyone can recommend me a US surgeon who is good with chinese noses and using rib cartilage?

I want my surgery to be natural as possible and I will upload photos soon of what my current nose looks like - large nostrils, rather flat, bulbous tip, basically pig-like

I definitely want a higher bridge, nostril narrowing and a more projected tip.

I have seen Dr. Charles Lee on YouTube, however, have also heard many bad reviews of him and am skeptical about the reviews online that I have read.

Any recommendations?

Thanks all x

Hi, I've consulted with several surgeons in the Los Angeles area for Asian Rhinoplasty but haven't been able to decide on one. Either I feel the surgeon isn't experienced enough in the area or I've found sanctions/reprimands on the surgeons' records by the California Board of Plastic Surgery. I've been searching for almost a year and have grown really frustrated. If someone can recommend a surgeon in LA (maybe California in general) or would like to share stories with me, please let me know. Thanks!!!

To All potential patients of eyelid, rhinoplasty and nostril flare reducing:

Dr. Charles Lee is NOT a GOOD surgeon to go to. I travelled to LA to see him and he over booked a lot of patients during the week he was suppose to perform my surgery. This was a year ago. He rush the procedure and I was unhappy with the result but he said that it will look better once it is healed.

After 2 weeks my nose looks nice and much less swollen but the scars looked pretty bad on the right-side of my nose and eyelid. After 4 months my tip has collapse and there is a bump in the middle of my bridge. Worst of all the scars are really horrible looking and noticeable even though I use this expensive scar gel he sold me after the surgery.

What I found out later from other patients is that he that he isn't really skilled. He BS on his Youtube videos about each patients is special and he custom the procedure occurring to the patient. What really happens during surgery is that he use short cuts to speed things up. An Asian rhinoplasty surgery usually takes up to 2 to 3 hours if done correctly. Dr. Charles Lee will have you out of his office from 1 to 2 hours tops.

Also he admits that he is a right-handed person and isn't that comfortable with working on right-side of the patients face bc there isn;t a lot of free space to move. So the Left-side of my face the scars are less visible but the right-side is horrible. ='( Look at some of his patients he would mostly so you the left side of their face.

I don't even want to take close up pictures anymore bc of this.

@ curiiious heeeyy I'm still reading into everyone's comments about the clinics they went to so haven't decided yet. However, a few of the clinics in Korea sound good. Unless anyone knows of a place in the USA that's good & not too expensive...

It would be my first nose surgery so I'm kinda nervous about that AND travelling so far away from home (NYC) not knowing the language, so I would appreciate any advice from the board =)

p.s. knowing me, if I go over there & they start offering other procedures I'll have to start a new thread! haha

I'm also thinking about Dr. Jung based on emails to his office associates and his extensive experience with asian rhinoplasties. I am thinking about 2 weeks in mid-November but totally know what you mean about being scared.. it would also be my first rhinoplasty as well and I know it's a big decision. I do think that I trust Dr. Jung would do a good job and that my nose will definately look better regardless. I'm in NY - if you or anyone else has similar thoughts - let me know~!
