Best Plastic Surgery Clinics in Korea -read 1st post before posting.

I remember seeing a case like yours on a different plastic surgery forum, where the girl kept emailing ID about a revision because they made her face look 'handicapped'... but nobody responded back to her emails or her calls, so she had to fly to Korea again, only to be told by Mr. Park that he couldn't fix her problem, and that she shouldn't have gone to him in the first place (which wasn't what he said pre-surgery). All I could think was couldn't they have just replied to her email or phone call, and told her that, so she wouldn't have to waste money on a plane ticket?
I've decided to eliminate ID from my list of potential clinics, just because I've read too many negative reviews, or accounts where the person had to get revision. To be fair, though, they seem to treat people happy with their results kindly, but it seems that if they mess up your face, then they just want you out of the way. I understand that every clinic is bound to have their screw-ups, but I've read two negative reviews from a different forum, and at least three from PF, and one from a girl my friend met in the ID waiting room, who was going in for a revision. I understand every clinic is bound to make mistakes but the amount of negative reviews seems to equal the amount of positive reviews, which doesn't impress me at all.

Thank you itsumobaby for sharing your email. I feel so bad that they've been dodging you. I hope your revision goes well though. You're getting the assymetry fixed by Dr. Park, right?




That would be awesome, but I don't have set dates yet. I'm hoping by the end of January. You'll be going back to Korea in January, or you'll stay there through January? Anyway, I look forward to seeing your updates. Several more weeks, and you'll be in Korea! I'm excited for you. ^^

And I find it really unfair too. Do you know if anyone has ever brought up local vs. foreigner prices during consultation? The differences in pricing are kind of ridiculous, so I wonder if there is some unfair law I'm unaware of, that states we have to pay heaps more.

I think your eyes look great (Minus the swelling), looks a little mixed if you know what I mean, beautiful deep set eyes. I went through your stage around 4 weeks, I thought I looked different, but not necessarily better. I believe you will eventually love your new look, it just takes time to heal and get used to.

I did just the nose and mini V, and I equally look as different, can't get away with I lost weight. I tell people I had fillers in my nose and botoxed my face to make it smaller. I would recommend non prescription glasses (frames only) They did wonders for me for the first few weeks, it takes away a lot of the weirdness.

Can I have a look at your eyes before surgery?

Do you know JW's website though? I've seen that name pop up a couple of times on PF, and I want to look into it as well.

And about View, I actually agree with you. I've seen a lot of the pointy chins, which I do think look a bit fake. But I'm not too turned off by it, because super small faces and intense v-lines are considered beautiful in Korea, so it makes sense that they showcase a lot of those cases on their site, and other sites as well. You'll find similar v-line pictures in a popular clinic such as Small Face, because that's the kind of look a lot of Koreans like. Just take a look at ulzzangs for example. 100% of the ones I've seen all have intense v-lines I find very very unnatural/alien-looking, but Koreans still dub them "best face" lol. Anyway, the point is that if a doctor can take off that much of a person's jaw, then they're most definitely capable of taking off less. So you just have to clearly communicate that with them, as they're used to girls coming in asking for the smallest face possible, or the v-est v-line possible.

I actually remember reading an online consultation on Small Face, asking why all of the girls on the site have such intense v-lines, and the consultant answered that they asked for it, but the doctors are capable of much natural results if you just ask.

I think this is the case for View as well, because my friend came into her consultation with a picture of Gemma Ward, asking to look like her. But she also said that above all, looking natural was her #1 priority, even if it meant a smaller nose bridge, or smaller eyes, or less angled v-line. Now, I can tell she had surgery done because I've seen the transformation, but for a stranger passing her by on a road, they'd think she was natural. So if you let the doctor know that your beauty standard is different than the one he's used to 'creating,' I think you'll be more likely to get the result the result you want.




Sure thing. I'm happy for her too. And I hope my experience in Korea is as nice as her's. I'd love to have a housemate that'd volunteer to be my translator lol.


EDIT: Someone sent me a message, kindly asking if I worked for View, and I would just like to say that I am NOT promoting View, nor am I recommending them. If I was working for View, I would not have said that I wouldn't get my nose done there. I'm simply sharing my friend's positive experience with them.

You're welcome. Honestly speaking, though, I don't think my research is that helpful lol. I was hesitant to post it up, because I don't think I've compiled enough messages from locals to really feel confident in any particular clinics. I am planning on looking into clinics that popped up quite a bit, like View, Girin and a doctor at Samsung.. maybe message each person to see why they picked those places over others.

Hey! Awesome. We should definitely go together or at least meet up if our dates match up! I'm hoping to go with my Korean friend, who might be visiting his grandparents in January. I'm still waiting for his confirmation before I buy a plane ticket, because I really would prefer to go with him than hire a translator. If he changes his mind, though, I'll probably go alone. Do you have set dates for January?

Hey, I just wanted to say that I'm so glad you brought up Face Line. I looked up the website, and I remember I had an interest in this particular clinic, but forgot it's name over time (there's so many freaking __ Line clinics lol). I'm also really impressed with their facial contouring B&A's. I haven't heard much about them, but I plan on consulting with them in January.

I don't really know much about Face Line or JW, but Small Face is really popular among locals. I know this, because it's one of the first clinics my Korean friend noted when I asked him if he knew any popular clinics in Korea. Before, I was pretty confident I would go there, but then I realized they only really do jaw shaving. I would need double jaw or sliding genioplasty for my profile.

Hi! I consulted with FaceLine back in September. My experience was not so great there because they consulted without doing any type of xray or CT scan. I thought that was pretty lousy. There were a handful of locals there in the waiting room, if that means anything.

Could anyone advice me the different between open rhino and close rhino? I've read somewhere in this forum, but can't remember where it is.. open rhino leave scar and long time to heal, is that so? in which circumstances the Dr perform open rhinoplasty ? thanks advance ..

Hey kimjoo, thanks for sharing your experience. They didn't do x-ray or CT scan? That's crazy. Do you know if it's because they don't have those instruments, or they just don't do it during consultations? Either way, I don't think it's possible to do a consultation without an x-ray. I was planning on consulting with them, because I really liked their website, but your experience has definitely raised a red flag.


It's made me realize that I really shouldn't judge clinics based on their websites. Take Before & After Clinic (formerly Dream Clinic), for example. The website design isn't nearly as professional looking as it's counterparts, yet the image consultant there is apparently really popular in Korea, and has worked with some of the most popular celebrities.

EDIT: Someone sent me a couple of questions in a message, so in case anyone else is interested, the image consultant's name is Han Gyu Ri. She's a really popular (if not the most popular) celebrity image consultant in Korea. She's responsible for the images of celebrities, such as SNSD, Big Bang, 2NE1, F(x) Krystal and Sulli, Suju, Gong Hyo Jin, Gong Yoo, Wonder Girls, No Min Woo, etc. She also wrote a popular book on how to become celebrity like even if you don't have the genes. Anyway, not to say that all of those people I listed had plastic surgery from her Before & After Clinic, but they most likely had some sort of service done there. I want to go to her clinic for dermatology, but I'd imagine that since they work with so many celebrities, it'd be quite costly.

For those who is interested in the Face Line clinic, I would like to share with you some information that I got from another forum + naver blog link of them

someone who shared new about Face Line Clinic said:

Face-line occupies three floors.

Dr.Jin Soo Lee specializes in facial contouring. Dr. Lee's wife does dentistry and there's another Dr. Lee that does eyes and nose only.

Safety comes first for this clinic. They take pride in their stellar 10 years of no-accident (neither major or minor) record. The majority of their clients come from word-of-mouth as far as China and Japan. Dr. Lee will not operate on everyone. He refuses patients if he believes what the patient wants will not benefit them.

This clinic is booked out until December. I consulted with Dr. Lee on Tuesday. Their next surgery opening is on Saturday. Dr. Lee does a max of 3 patients a day, no more.

I found Dr. Lee to be humble and frank. He pointed out ALL my problem areas. His approach was different in that he did not want to cut my bone out along the mandible towards my chin but "trim" the surface. He said that this would be more effective in giving me a more narrower face from the FRONTAL view as opposed to just the side view. He did not feel a bone graft on my chin was necessary but will consider it if he finds that I need it. He felt a longer chin would make me appear older. A shorter chin or my current chin, a more youthful appearance. He was interested in giving me a harmonious face, not so much achieve a certain look.(I brought in photos)

Dr. Lee will reduce my zygoma and re-adjust using wires. Remove my chin implant and bring my chin forward. Trim the surface of my mandible and blend it with my chin. He will correct my asymmetry.

My consultant was professional. She did not comment on other clinics when I asked what she thought of them. Instead, she cautioned me against large clinics where there are multiple surgeons. Once you are out, some no-body dr operates on you and you experience problems later.

I spoke with the other members of staff and reviewed their before and after photos.
They've won my trust and faith.
I've decided to go with Face-line.

Face-line also has a great post-op care and an officetel.

I will write more as I get to know more.

Hi Everyone!
How is everybody's faces doing?

I am 2 1/2 months post op.
I've removed my 10 year old chin implant, did sliding genioplasty, zygoma reduction and smoothed out my chin line towards my mandible.
I had these procedures done at Face-line.

The healing process is agonizing slow.
At 1 months, I looked like a chipmunk.
At 2 months, the swelling has dissipated a lot. I can take pictures without feeling paranoid.
However, parts of the face are de-swelling at different rates that if you really study it, it appears asymmetrical.
But I believe it's temporary and am not too concerned.
I am anticipating a more slender contour and can't wait for 4 more months to quickly go by.

I experienced numbness on my lower teeth the first month but all my sensations have returned.
I can feel the lumpiness on the scars inside my mouth especially along the inner cheeks..
B/c my cheeks are not totally themselves yet, the inner cheeks rub against the molars. Feels heavier if that makes sense.
Faint brown line on the sideburns from the incision. I'm using contractubex to soften it, although the doctor said it's not necessary.
By the 6 months mark, he said you can barely see it.

Reducing the zygoma makes the face shape appear more oval but it doesn't change the width of your face.
I still have a wide width which I've accepted.
Getting rid of the large chin implant and the doctor doing a fabulous job contouring my chin line, has given me a more harmonious face shape.

I'm flexible actually, when will you know the date that you'll be traveling? like latest? and do you know anything about fat grafting? is it permanent?

I'm sure they have the equipment... but I was put into consultation without anything, which I thought was totally weird. Maybe it was just my experience, but consulting without even an x-ray seemed a little sketchy... and that`s why I chose a different clinic.
