Plastic Surgery Clinics in Korea ***read 1st post before posting***

I've been a silent reader for a while now.
I'm planning to get my hooked nose done in October.
So far I had consultations at BK (5500, not even worth the consultation, off my list), ChungdamU, TL and Hershe.
ChungdamU was okay, but on kakao they charged 250mWon (2500dollars) and when I was there in person it was almost 5000! TL was okay too, they charged 4400. Hershe gave me the cheapest price and I have to say the doctor was very friendly !
Some of them said I need a silicone implant and some said I dont need it. So...I don't know if I should go for silicone or not.
Dream, View, Human, Korea and Life are on my list to get consultations with.

Does anyone have experiences with some of the clinics mentioned?
And is anyone staying in Seoul for a longer time and is planning to get a rhinoplasty in the mid/end of October? Feel free to send me a PM

Has anyone here done hairline implant before? It's something I'm also looking into atm apart from eyes+nose in since I have a very wide and big forehead. I thought this girl's results from Opera PS looked amazing (http://www.operasurgery.co.kr/?sc=J003&act=View&intSeq=61959&SearchT=3).

Is there much pain, etc? And does the hair really 'last' forever i.e. behave and grow like normal hair? I think it would be a little strange having hair grow on your forehead skin because it's not like your scalp...

Also, anyone know anything about Opera? Just found out about them from this thread and the pics on their site seem really natural and everyone doesn't look like those overphotoshopped alien/ulzzangs amazingly :O They have female docs too...

I've searched for experiences regarding WonJin clinic and for the negative reviews I've seen, they're mostly to do with surgeries other than breast augmentation.

Has anyone here personally had breast augmentation at WonJin and can share their experience?

They seem to be the experts in this field and my communication with them via email has be great so far. They've answered all of my questions and even pointed out my asymmetrical breasts from just a couple of pics I sent. I'm planning to go Nov 1 on my own.

Some people on PF have shared their negative experiences with Wonjin before and I remember reading that they are rumoured (confirmed?) to have swapped surgeons during operations. Also, someone died at Wonjin from anesthesia (confirmed through news reports) and many locals have sued them for malpractice. Just stating this in case you don't know yet...

I haven't seen anything bad yet regarding breast aug from them as you have already pointed out. Personally I would still stay away from them based on what I've heard.

Anyway, if you are planning to go with Wonjin, please do have someone with you during your surgery, just to make sure that they don't swap surgeons during your operation. I heard that foreigners who go alone for surgery here and other places (e.g. ID, BK, etc) are more vulnerable. It's good to have someone there keeping an eye out for you. Idk if it's just for surgeries like eye, nose, and jaw they do this for, I don't think they swap surgeons for breast, but I wouldn't wanna bet on it ><

I am planning to go korea in feb.

I have shortlist Item clinic as my first choice and maybe find 2 more clinic for consultation.
I am planning to do my nose, eyes- double eye lid and epicanthoplasty

After seeing your photo and hearing what other have had to say i'm pretty much decided on Everm for my v-line surgery/ zygomy reduction! (But of course the consultation will be my main decider.

I emailed them first in English only and got no reply and tried again only this time in English and Korean and got a response

You dont need one, they didn't ask me for anything both times at the airport

This is going to be tougher than I thought choosing a clinic!

There are quite a few clinics out there who have a good reputation with breast augmentation so take your time researching! I can't think of too many clinics since I'm not interested in that procedure myself so I don't know who specialises in what, but I do know Makeover got hers done at Daprs, you can ask her I've seen their b&a online and they lool pretty nice and natural.

I remember reading on some other clinics who use "tear drop" implants, it seems to be popular.

So tired from my flight, arrive and went to consultation. I just completely deadly tired and just fall asleep without knowing when I got to the room.

TL Plastic Surgery
The girls who work at this clinic looked really pretty, they have an English translator who seemed nice and the doctor was friendly. At the beginning of the consultation I was impressed with their price offered and post-care packages. The doctor didn&#8217;t push me into doing any surgeries, he understood what I wanted, seemed experienced and had a lot of certificates hang up. They did not have a lot of after/before photos and they weren&#8217;t so busy.

Taking on advice from other people, I asked for a copy of my x-ray photos to be put onto a disc so I can take it to the other clinics. I had to paid around $30 for what turned out to be a blank disc, I realized they fooled me because they did not want me to visit the other clinics. Also, when I went to EverM their consultant was nice enough to ask TLPS if they could email the x ray photos to them but they denied my v-line consultation and said they only looked at my cheekbone, thus, they did &#8216;not&#8217; take any x-ray photos of me. This showed they were untrustworthy and shifty so I did not choose them.

This clinic would have been my choice, if it weren&#8217;t for Dr Lee at DARPS. Like other people have said, they seemed very real and caring, they only have a chinese translator who can also speak some English. Though they are a small clinic, they have a lot of good reviews and at a time when you are in need you would want someone who actually cares for you.

DARPS
DARPS has a very good in house English translator, they had lot of impressive after/before photos; they were also busy with foreigners and locals. Though they have pretty girls working there, personally, I think their patients looked average and their noses looked fake. Also, a chinese patient seemed displeased and frustrated about her nose, she was complaining and pointing at her nose.

I chose to do facial contouring with Dr Lee the director because I really trusted him, he seemed very genuine, confident with what he does, straightforward and very friendly-cute. I would not go to this clinic for anything else (they do try to get as much money from you as possible, prices aren&#8217;t reasonable, they lack post-care and doesn't cover medical costs compared to the other clinics).

The post-op care instructions stated to avoid milk but when was staying for 2 nights, the nurses offered me soy milk&#8230;They have various nurses, some seemed alright but one particular one was always talking on her phone during my second night stay, while i was struggling to breathe (the first two nights were the worst but other than that it wasn&#8217;t really painful, I think going to the dentist to take out a tooth is more painful).
My result is looking good so far.


From consulting with the clinics I have learnt:
- People mentioned this before, I just want to reinforce, that the clinics know about purse forum, so beware. I can imagine the false comments made here, which is sad because we are just trying to help each other out as foreigners.
- It is important to show them your knowledge of surgery, that you have done research and have other clinics as options.
- You can bargin down to 20%-50% and try to get deals such as de-swelling treatments, extra in-house stay.
- House host do take commission, not with just the recommended clinics but other services too.
- Most of them are fake, well I suppose it&#8217;s part of their job to be extra nice to us.
- Get all the important information certified, in case you might need it in the future.
- Having a loved one there makes the whole process 5 times better.
