My plastic surgery with Dream Medical Group

Recommended Posts

Dr Kim is their facial contouring specialist. Reputation wise he is like Dr Park's equivalent in his specialty. He did my acculift which is also a form of facial contouring. I had it done to the sides of my cheeks and a little on the right mid cheek to even things up. Only took 10-15 mins and great results. As for tightening effect im only like 4 1/2 weeks post op so not sure how long lasting it is.

If u are asking about bone manipulation surgery like zygoma or mandible reduction then i don't know what his skill level is as he never performed those procedures on me.

^Yes I was talking about bone shaving  Guess I gotta do a research on Dr. Kim!

At least reputation wise he's on Dr. Park's level. I was considering DAPRS for facial contouring but their rhinoplasty surgeon isn't on par with their facial contouring surgeon.

I'm glad! That's great to hear. I guess the Power V lift takes some time to see the results. I've initially considered this but am having second thought now because it seems to take a while to recover and I only have 2 weeks off from work. Are you still wearing the head support?

Thanks for the reply. Does your friend has problem with the implant shifting? I don't normally rest on my chin either so that wouldn't be a problem.

Hydroxy seems to be the ideal material but it is pretty much permanent. I think if I were to get my chin augmentation with hydroxy then I would only trust a skilled surgeon. It seems like reversal or getting it removed will be very hard as it bonds to your bone.

i never noticed any implant shifting on her. My first chin implant was using silicone too actually but that one was done in thailand. Super dodgey implant that was carved out of a block of raw silicone and jagged. The stupid surgeon just jammed it roughly into my chin. I know this cos i was badly sedated, as in....conscious and feeling pain as they cut into me. I could feel the pressure and the hack and slash way he shoved it into my chin through my mouth was awful.

In my case it was a combination of a bad uneven implant and bad uneven placement which led to me having to remove it due to discomfort. Luckily the implant didn't look asymmetrical at all as my thick skin concealed it. So its really got to do with placement and material i believe.

With hydroxy removal its only easy to remove if the surgeon is skilled at using hydroxy. Problem with removal by a surgeon who is untrained in hydroxy is they will have difficulty telling apart the hydroxy amongst the scar tissue in your face from the previous surgery. Also, the hydroxy will make a crackling sound which can be mistaken for nerve damage. Removal by a skilled surgeon is really simple actually. They simply use a small spoon like instrument and slowly scoop it out. I know this because i had some of my hydroxy removed in 2012 because i wanted a more subtle look. I kinda asked for alot of mid cheek projection in 2008 then years later i changed my mind lol. Removing it reduced projection outward but not height as height was from the malar lift. Charles Lee was meant to perform the procedure to remove part of the hydroxy but when he went in he got scared due to the above mentioned problem and closed me up. So i went back to Dr Mendelson and he easily removed it for me. Took like only an hour or so.

Hi K Couture, really thank you for your contribution. All your posts are really informative and helpful. I'm currently considering Item and Dream on Rhinoplasty. But I remember you mentioned many surgeons try to avoid close surgery because it's a very skillful procedure. I've asked Item's consultant a few times on close method but she kept telling me open method is better as it gives the surgeon a better view during the surgery (she's still waiting for surgeon's reply on this matter)...

From what you know, is it possible to have close surgery if I need to have silicon bridge implant to lengthen my nose, as well as septal cartilage for tip and nostril reduction?

When it comes to ease of maneuver during the operation, its entirely based on the surgeon's skill. Hence the difference between surgeon's trained in closed rhino versus those who can only do it via open. Its like an extra step in the specialty at honing their rhino skills.

Most common explanation from surgeons who are not trained in closed rhino is that it is impossible to do the tip via close method. That's clearly not true as I, along with another forumer here have had our tips projected via closed rhino. If I recall the other member recently posted in Asian Nose 3 and used her own ear cartilage for tipplasty while mine was done using donor ear cartilage and dermis.

However there are cases where closed rhino is not the better option even under a skilled surgeon. This is often due to structural concerns. Example is of someone who was looking to get a revision rhino but the rib cartilage inserted into his bridge is oversized and therefore may prove to be unsuitable for closed rhino due to its removal. Whether your nose can be enhanced using closed the only person who can give you a truly accurate assessment is a surgeon who is trained in closed rhino.

lol? i didn't pay for my 3d scan. They never ever mentioned charging me for it either. And this was before i decide to book my surgery date. They did my 3d scan 2013 oct. I only decided to do my surgery around February 2014 and made my surgical appointment for may. So at no point during getting the 3d scan did i even indicate i was going to go with them. In fact i even made it clear that the reason why i wanted the cd of my scan is to show other surgeons during my other consultations. So i have no idea where this 300-500 is coming from /shrugs.
