I am new to this forum, and I am glad I discovered it because I am planning to go to Seoul in May 2015 for various procedures. I am looking for a dramatic change from where I am currently. My face appears a little long, and I have a really prominent, square chin and jaw. I have had ptosis surgery with Dr. Kim in Los Angeles and the stitch has loosened and now my eyes look like they did before surgery. I have grown tired of disliking what I see and now I am just going to do this. My hotel is booked!

This is what I plan to do:

V-line for jaw
T-chin
fat graft to forehead and cheeks
Zygoma reduction
Acculift for under chin
and eye revision

I am considering Girin or View Clinic. Whatever feedback about these clinics you can give me would be very helpful.

Hi Blasian! I'm a newbie too and going for my first primary "basics" (eyes and nose, as minimal / natural as possible-- so opposite of what your intending) but share your excitement in having booked flight/lodging to travel soon too!

I just wanted to voice my opinion to you fwiw... While I don't know in detail what the procedures you're interested in entails, I believe a few of them might be quite invasive. Simply want to point out that doing everything all at once might make recovery feel "hellish". Just something you might want to consider. I'm going to be traveling alone, and doing what many would consider 'minor'... But I'm still nervous about my pain-and-suffering-for-beauty threshold post op.

If you do decide on doing all of the procedures together, I'd suggest you have someone with you (I'm a bit nervous going alone, but anticipate local sedation) but if you're going under general anesthesia (which I'm thinking V line would entail), I hope someone can be there to support you, and also that you make sure the place(s) / doctor(s) you choose have a good record of aftercare service, and that you're well informed of the post op healing / recovery process, so you're as prepared as possible to know what to generally expect (as well as any possible complications).

But I'm not the most knowledgable in PS. Just adding my two cents thinking of the practicalities!

Hi Blasian! I am also planning on going this May 2015 for eyelid revision and rhino. How did you figure out which hotel to book?? I think figuring out the whole boarding is stressful..primary stress being trying to figure out which places I want to consult with of course

Hi Chopstixs, what surgeries are you planning to do?

I am looking at a couple of surgeries too to travel to Korea mid this year, anyone can recommend or suggest how I should plan or sequence the following surgeries? I doubt they will be all performed under the same clinic because I prefer to get specialist in the specific area.

- Eyes
- Breast Enhancement through fat transfer
- V-line
- Rhinoplasty (I read in earlier comments it should be refrained from doing with the breast enhancements)

Appreciate your sharing and kind advice~

Unfortunately I'm new to this whole plastic surgery forum thing..haha..so I dunno how much advice I can give
But I'm planning on getting eyelid revision and rhino done. I kinda want to get some facial contouring done but I'm too scared haha. I was looking into quick zygomatic procedure..since I feel like my cheekbones are a little wide..but I guess I'll know for sure if that's what I need once I get a CT scan during consultation. I'm trying to find a clinic that has a good reputation for both eyes and nose so I can get both done at the same time. Anyone know of any clinics? The ones I have in mind are The Line and Dream

Thank you for looking out for me. I did do my research and it does seem that these would be intense procedures! I am ready for the challenge! I am actually not new to plastic surgery, but this would by far be the most invasive surgeries I will have.

I actually looked for hotels in the area where the clinic is, and spent hours reading reviews lol. People seem to be fairly honest about their hotel experiences on tripadvisor.com or agoda.com
I just want a place to lay my head because I am hoping when some of the swelling goes down I can walk around and see a little of Seoul, instead of being stuck in a room all day. I was shocked about how expensive hotels in Seoul are! They charge nearly as much as any hotel here in the United States.

I have heard good things about Dream clinic in Korea, but I definitely do not recommend the clinic in Koreatown, in Los Angeles. They were also very expensive. I will agree that I am having a hard time finding information about the Line.

I am curious to know if the idea of implants bother you? I have little experience with breast augmentation with fat, but I would imagine there is a chance some of the fat may be absorbed. For where I used to be (A cup) before that idea would have stressed me out if an ounce of fat disappeared. I went in for breast implants in 2005 and it has worked out fine for me.

Pretty much because its 'foreign object'? I have gone down 1 cup size (previously a small B cup) because of exercise and it is very depressing. i understand that it may be absorbed and will go down if I continue to exercise but I read that fat transfer is the only breast augmentation without the need to do massage? I heard the massaging part is v painful...

When are you planning your trip? Would you be comfortable to share with me more about your personal experience in private? my kakao is seekinghope.

I'm a newbie to this forum too. It's a treasure land to read real PS experiences from ppl
I too plan to visit kr later this year. Have you guys looked at alternative stay such as airbnb? It could be cheaper and sometimes your host could be your best local guide.

Hi there! I should get a kakao, I used to have one. I am getting a new phone this week and when I do I will download kakao again
But I will say this, massaging for me was not so bad. The breasts soften a lot over time. The actual surgery was a little painful, once the skin and muscles stretch to the new form. I went from an A to a D. I can understand your hesityation about having a foreign object in your body though.

I actually have not looked into that. Do you know if they will attempt to get a commission once they find out where I will have surgery? I am spending quite a bit of money for a room for two weeks, I am willing to save money anyway I can.

I don't think you have to worry about the commission thing, b/c payment for lodging is only for lodging, and it's handled already once you submit an online reservation (via CC or paypal) before you even get there. It's a US/San Francisco based co., basically a website/service that lets people/travelers find places/each other to share/rent accommodations all over the world, so whatever possible commissions or concerns you have about the host trying to rip you off with a clinic, would be from the actual host/person's other side deals that they might have going on, beyond their listing their space on the website. And if they (airbnb) find out you're (host or guest) making any sort of cash / side deals on the lodging/listing that's not handled through the website, you'll get banned from using their platform/website (unless it's for auxiliary services that you're requesting / agreeing to between the individual host and guest, like if you ask if they can be your translator, or to buy movie tickets for you etc., stuff like that, that has nothing to do with the lodging listing). b/c that's the way airbnb makes money, a small cut (3-12% service fee from the reservation, to use their website services). But basically the price you agree to rent the space for (it shows in the total amount once you put in the dates, before requesting to book), is the only charges that would go through (unless you rent a place, they have a security deposit as part of their requirement, and then you break something, and then the host makes a claim to airbnb within 24hrs of your checkout for damages... then airbnb would try to facilitate a resolution as part of their customer service to both parties).

I wrote some basic info. about airbnb here: # Also, since you were saying that you're looking to get more invasive cosmetic procedures done, unless you're traveling with other people, I would not suggest airbnb for you, particularly for the first few days after surgery, b/c you might need more people around in case of medical emergency or aftercare comfort/help with things, unless you're confident and prepared to be able to handle anything that comes up on your own (although you can probably send messages to ask questions/help from the host, who usually would not be there while you are). If you do airbnb, you're basically renting out someone's apartment listing and would be mostly on your own to figure things out , which could be iffy if you're not confident how much additional care / medical attention you might need after esp. more intense surgeries.

That's my two cents on this for now, but I'm not going to mention much more about it here, b/c Swanky Mom of Three (moderator) was referring us to check out the Travel Forum for these types of info. instead. Plus I don't want to sound like a promoter for airbnb haha (it's just that I love the co. & service and use it for my own adventures). You can PM me if you have questions though. Hope this helps!
