NEW! Live in Korea! DES and Fat Graft

Recommended Posts

Hi guys I'm currently at Starbucks in Korea charging my phone while I type this since I got so much help but I would like to share my experience thus far.

I visited Dream, JW, and Cheongdamu. I can't comment on the quotes yet but the consultations were good and definitely keep it 3 or less per day for consult. Trust me you don't time and will be way too rushed but make sure to write down what you want to get done and what the problem is. As well as take pictures of yourself to show them your problem and a photo of someone or something you want to look like.

Dream: It was the nicest interior and the consultants look very pretty and natural. Mostly Koreans and maybe few foreigners. I saw Korean Americans as well. Great thorough consults and these doctors are not there to sweet talk you and straight up just stares at you when you walk in so it may seem cold or off putting but they seem very professional. I saw a well off Korean man getting treated for his skin very quick before returning to work or meeting or something so they see, to have regulars among Korean locals. Quote wise they are the highest but I rather pay more for better results. Dr Park recommend chin implant but I wasn't too sure about it. But they aren't pushy at all just recommendation you can easily ignore or ask more about it. It's your choice. For me I don't know quite that much so if you guys know chin implant success rate and people I can refer to on Kakao or purse, please let me know! Dr won jae is incision and revision eye specialist. He did not recommend ptosis for me because he said I can look too furious. I'm still gonna ask again if I can maybe do a little but they'd seem to be on conservative and natural side which I really like. And I have yet to see those crazy dolly eyes in gangnam so looks like the trend is dying down.

2. JW: JW was empty mostly and there were couple of Chinese and couple of Koreans. It looks very nice from outside and interior decor is great as well. They offered me the lowest price but I expected that as what most people said. Dr choi was great and he is thorough and stares at you and play around with your face. Dr Han for fat graft was attentive and nice and since its fat graft , it isn't as serious as eyelid surgery. They recommend accullift for my chin where Dream recommend chin implant so this is something to think about. My consultant was very sweet and understanding. Dr Choi said I can do ptosis but only a little since it mild and did address the same furious looks people get after ptosis like Dream didAlso JK is right across from them. Are they partnered or something?

3. Cheongdamu: The hardest clinic to find but consultant was very nice. It isn't in the open where people can see the clinic but is one of those alley ways. My consultstion was good and I even had 5 people in my consult. i saw dr yang who is the head surgeon and does eyes and fat graft. The consult was great but I don't know about them other than they did Chinese celebrities supposedly and it was popular on purse but not anymore? Please comment if you know more. But yeah they seem to be natural minded and holistic. Not that busy though. And the price they gave me was between Jw and Dream and they were wondering what quote I got for Dream and did comment that Dream is good for natural looks. Oh and I also got their towards their closing so maybe it's different earlier time.

Yeah so that's it for now. And those who are coming in June or near future it is hot in Korea. So be advised. I want to visit other clinics tomorrow like Jeadon Opera Wannabe Girin and Teuim. No clinic knew who Teuim was either which was concerning and their automatic ptosis recommendation concerns me now after visiting these three clinics today but I will never find out for sure until I consult. But let me know guys which one you would like me to visit or have clinic reommendation since tomorrow is the last day for me secure spot for three clinics. I am really leaning on Dream right now as they aren't crazy big like Grand but I also saw the most people. I really like the consultsnts their as well and they'd don't seem to be that money crazyed but seem to be proud of their work which I like. I will update more tomorrow but please feel free to comment as I will check on this before I pass out tonight. It is real work guys to consult. You gotta be on your A game and ask questions until you feel better have no regrets. So what do you think? Which of three clinics would you choose if you were me?

My personal experience with chin implant is - it gives you great projection and can mask under chin fats but it doesn't look great when you smile. It changes your smile and can change the way your mouth moves. It can never look completely natural cause it is not actual part of your chin even when screwed on. So, my face at rest looked much better with implant, but my moving face looked worse.

I got mine out when I had vline done and had T-osteotomy to give me a better chin shape withthout implant. Even though I'm only 1 month post op and still swollen, I can already see the problem with my smile is fixed:smile:) Woohoo

Thanks so much for the input. Yeah I will pass on that as I think I should try to lose weight first. Do you have any insight in acculift or is that some fad that can be changed by exercising. Hmmm

Chlak5, I'm so excited for you! Did you find an accompany? Based on your description of the clinic Dream seems to be really nice. Can't wait to hear from you soon.

Hi guys update. So I guess some people are accusing me of a promoter since I decided my mind in one clinic. lol. For those who wrote review and got accused I totally feel you. However I got tremendous amount of help here and I've been on this site literally 247 and on kakao asking questions for almost 3 years now. I'm going to keep it up for a little for those who are coming soon to Korea and wanted some insight on things like how and where to withdraw money for cash as it is much cheaper, wifi egg, subway system etc. but looks like I will have to delete it soon. Sorry for those who were waiting eagerly about my journey and post op.

I also got kakao talk for all these wonderful consultants who were willing to talk and make sure to tell me how to prepare for my surgeries although I won't be getting it from them.

My Oh my... you are finally doing it, log. After bugging us 4 months with that same old question... 'Teium, Dream or JW?'

Where are the Teium and Jaedon reviews? I wanna hear about it.

I wish the best of luck, bro... Keep us posted.

HI Guys again.

Update....
So I have the surgery down on Friday. And many asked if I consulted Teuim or other clinics I had in mind. Well what I learned from the consulting is that clinics give you their best quote to you when you visit them. I honestly don't know if I'm understanding this right since this is my first time getting surgery on Korea, but they usually want you pay the deposit the next day. So give yourself realistic goals of how many you want to visit and go in priority. I visited Dream, JW, and Cheongdamu in one day and it took me a whole day because you have to wait, fill out forms, wait for doctors, and consult. And after that you talk to the consultant themselves and you get your quote. I would visited Teuim but doctors at three clinics did not recommend ptosis, and I hear Dr. Kwon just put that as a package for everyone and I became doubtful. Also, Teuim and Opera is right next to each other next to Gangnam station right above Burger King I believe. And I think I saw Regen building right across and there must be some clinics that I probably forgot. But yeah, that is why I didn't visit Teuim and I guess I just had one clinic in mind and I wanted my consultations to be easy without changing the whole list when I got to Korea.

I hear Jaedon is a great clinic and that was also on my list but I just couldn't find the place and I don't think they have kakao. I remember had to consult by clicking on their website and they wrote me back in Korean, which I can kind of understand. But, I wanted more communicative way (through kakao) so I can talk to the consultants if any problems occur abroad. All three clinics I visited above are great with communicating with you and since this is my revision, I've been asking them so many questions so far and although two of them know I'm not coming back, they recommended me what to take, and what to ask other clinic for things such as injection for swelling etc as they come complimentary but you have to ASK.

So realistically you should have TWO days to consult. Visit your favorite ones first day, and others the second day, and at the end of the day, you can submit your deposit to your favorite for the first one, and if you find a better clinic you want to attend, you have another day to pay deposit to that, which will also give you time to consult more etc etc.

There are tons of clinics here like literally hundreds just everywhere. I actually went to another clinic called Cheongdamu Plastic Clinic which is not the one we know about here. They have no English speakers and just local Korean consultants, and when I arrived, they were like "do you have an appointment?" and I was like "uhhh yeah?". I realized that it was a different clinic with same name. It can get confusing. They even asked me if I want to consult with them since I was already there and I said no. You just have to CONSULT. Just consult and see how you feel about it. You have NOTHING to lose. There is no fee or anything. Just ask as much as you can. Look at the consultants since usually they are the products of their clinic, and get a feel about the doctors. See if they recommend the same thing as others, and if one offers some random things, something may or may not be off but only you will know. Perhaps, maybe it's the Korean culture like when you buy more things than they will give you discount etc. But make sure you prioritize your surgeries and really do the things you've been thinking and picturing about. If it doesn't click with you, forget about it and continue to a different clinic.

For me JW was off the list because Dr. Seul wasn't there who I wanted originally although Dr. Han is good as well, but their second touch up for fat graft wasn't free. You had to pay for it again so I was out. Cheongdamu was definitely my runner up but I actually didn't know so much about it nor did I talk to people that went to Cheongdamu (they originally quoted me the highest, and that kind of threw me off because I wasn't sure if I was getting ripped off, but I was able to haggle it down by giving them other quotes I got, this is the best way to haggle down I believe) other than reading here and there about the clinic far back from this forum. Dream was the most expensive. And many asked if I will share pictures, and I feel more comfortable doing that through Kakao and of course when I feel comfortable after the surgery so you guys can see it for yourselves, and as for their kakao, just message me as I rather not advertise it (well at least I didn't get their permissions).

The weather has been so much better and it's not super hot like before. And as for MERS, I don't know if it's such a big deal but there are definitely people wearing masks but LOTS of people are not. I guess just do the basic hygiene stuff like don't eat without washing hands, carry hand sanitizers, and wear masks if you want to, no one will care here.

Ahh that's it for now. Hopefully everyone's research is going well so far but I can't recommend a certain clinic right now because I haven't got surgery for myself nor will be able to until I'm healed. These are just my two cents and honest personal experience.

Hi guys update.

So my surgery date is coming soon in two days! So excited. So I treated myself to dakgabli which is spicy korean cuisine and I did some fusion where I put some cheese rice cakes. So good! And as well as cold noodle soup (must try especially summer when it's hot out).

NOTE: I felt rebellious so I did eat out more of a salty cuisine, but beware that those swell a lot, you should not smoke, drink, and try not to eat spicy or salty food prior and definitely not after the surgery for the sake of your deswelling process.

So I learned that cash is the best way to pay because there is there is tax for everyone both foreigners and Koreans alike because there is tax on beauty (I don't know if surgeries, or beauty products in general) which is 10%. Meaning let say $1000 surgery, you will have to give away extra $100 which you can spend on food etc. and for me it wasn't worth it so I had to withdraw cash. I don't know about other clinics but when I spoke to Dream they said they do wiring from your country. I don't know how exactly that works but I couldn't do it because I couldn't guarantee all the money will be wired to Dream prior my surgery. But anyways, this rule is applied to all plastic surgery clinics I believe. Correct me if I'm wrong.

So those of you who are coming from different country, make sure you spend your spend limit and tell them you are TRAVELING! Because they can freeze your account as the money you are trying to spend is from a foreign country and it is a hassle, and those who don't have banks here, you can't even get to get a new card. So IT IS VERY IMPORTANT! Also, tell your bank to increase your spending limit! For my bank it was put o $2500 per day so make sure you plan wisely and have enough money to pay for your surgery on your surgery date!

And last but not least. I did get both kelecote cream and pumpkin juice at the pharmacy. If you are staying in Gangnam or Seoul district in general, you will see pharmacy sign everywhere. It is in red and has the cross sign (health symbol). You go in there and ask for kelacote and pumpkin juice. I spend around 35 dollars for 30 packs of pumpkin juice and I don't know how much the kelacote cost but it wasn't expensive but it is definitely a need for those who are doing eyelid surgeries. Make sure to buy some Q tips to clean your eyes and surgical sites as well as wet tissues for connivence. You can easily find these at markets, corner stores like 711 or even Daiso.

I have provided the pictures below so you can get a good idea of it. Let me know if you have more questions guys! ;)
