V Line Surgery at the Face Dental

Recommended Posts

Hello! I finally got v line after years of lurking this forum. It took me a long time to decide on a clinic, but after several online consultation and hours and hours of research I finally decided on TFD.

Why did I choose TFD? I love the results, they are very natural and conservative. The price is extremely low (fixed at 4,400,000 KRW) even though the results are lovely.

The building itself is quite small, none of the receptionists or staff look like Gangnam unnies, they just look like average people which I honestly prefer. TFD felt more like a hospital than a plastic surgery clinic which somehow made me feel more safe.

I did some blood tests before the actual surgery. The surgery itself was pretty easy, I didn't remember or feel a single thing. But post-op
Oh God, post-op. I was prepared for discomfort but nobody told me about the excruciating pain. Most reviews talk about soreness, but the pain in my Jaw was an 8/10, I asked for pain killers but apparently I was already on them! The first four hours you are not allowed to sleep or drink water. Now this sounds pretty simple and easy on paper, but my throat was sandpaper and coated with dried blood, I was sleepy from the GA and the pain was too much for me to concentrate on anything at all. Those were easily the worst four hours of my life.

Finally I was allowed to drink water, I chugged so much my stomach hurt. The nurse encouraged me to walk around the ward to recover faster but everything hurt so much. I couldn't concentrate on anything, and all I wanted to do was sleep. I still forced myself to walk around the ward several times.

That first night was seriously so awful, but I woke up feeling a lot better. The pain subsided and I was discharged in the morning. I bought some Icecream to eat but tbh I don't really have an appetite, I've been coughing blood and everything tastes like medicine.

All in all, I still think it was worth it because even though I'm as puffy as ever I felt how small my bones were! And my chin already looks so much better!

Anyway sorry for the lack of details, I'm on mobile. But if anyone has any questions please feel free to ask.

Thanks for the review!! Let us know how your results turn out. I’m going to TFD for double jaw and v line next summer and when I consulted with them a few months ago I also felt reassured that the staff there looked like normal people and not like Gangnam Unnies and I don’t even know why haha. Was your v line more dramatic or natural? Also how’s the after care so far?

Yep! I also went to MVP to get my eyes done and all the girls there look like Gangnam undies. It's not a bad thing but we all have our preferences, haha.

My v line was very natural  I don't look too different from my old self, just enhanced which is what i was going for. Right now I have a double chin though.. Hopefully that goes away.

I'm pretty impressed with the after care. The nurses don't speak English so they carry around translators on their phones and still try their best to communicate. My nurse was so gentle and sweet, she checked up on my blood pressure and gave me antibiotics every few hours. I have a check up tomorrow so I'll write a post about it then!

Did you get your v line and eyes done on the same trip? If you did, how long did you have to wait after getting one surgery before getting the other?

Yes I got them done on the same trip, one day after the other. I talked to both doctors to make sure it was okay, and since DES + Ptosis is only LA, it was okay to get GA the next day! If you're planning on doing the same thing make sure you eat a lot before the 9-12 hour period of fasting! Otherwise you will feel fairly sick like me

Oh no, could the double chin be because of swelling? Yeah, tbh at first I wanted a more dramatic v line but after doing loads of research I would definitely prefer a natural one + a more conservative surgeon because even a slight excess of bone reduction could cause sagging and a lifetime of trying to fix it. I also got quoted 4mil for v line so at least their prices are standardised. :P

Oh good! It's hard to find a clinic that is good for eyes, nose, and fc - so it's good to know that doing them at separate places but during the same trip is an option. Hope you recover soon!

Yes the double chin is most likely due to swelling.. I didn't shave a lot of bone and im very skinny 43kg) so it's not my cheek fat  I just have to be patient!

Yes the prices are static and very reasonable  and staying in Gangnam I see the dramatic look everywhere and it looks fairly obvious. . I definitely think natural looks better but that's just my preference!

Thank you! I actually think MVP does a decent job at v line as well, but I was really set on TFD because of how natural the results were.

Day 3: swelling is at its peak  it kinda hurts but the pain is pretty bearable. I don't have an appetite surprisingly so not being able to eat isn't really an issue.

Nobody told me about how many bloody, painful booger I'd have.. So I guess I'll be the one to tell you guys haha.

I got my mandible shaved  left my cheekbones alone though. I'll post my b/a when I get home in a few weeks! I also got some genioplasty done because my chin wasn't symmetrical.

I am not sure you will be able to do eyes, nose and FC seperately in one trip, unless you can stay a really long time I guess. Now I am not a doctor, but I have been researching a long time and Nose, but especially FC are quite invasive, thus generally will require GA, while DES on the otherhand is considered a minor procedure. So not sure you can do Nose and FC seperately.

Also there is also some discussion on the swelling after surgery with the procedures, as if you do FC 1st you will have a lot of swelling and the other doctor will really have to be able to take your future face proportions into account to make sure your new nose fits your new face. Now not saying it cannot be done, again not a specialist, but there is some difficulty here. Perhaps best to ask the clinic directly, so you know how long after Nose/FC you can do the other one.

Of course, if you can stay a few months, which I remember a forummer did, you're good to go. Hope this helps.

Oh okay thanks! But what if I do eyes at one clinic, and nose and fc a another? Since eyes only require local anesthesia and then I would only have to go under general anesthesia once. I think I can only stay a month. Maybe I'll have to just do it all in one place to avoid complications. Do you know any clinics that have specialists for eyes, nose, and fc, aren't too expensive, and popular among locals?
