goodavocado Posted July 14, 2018 Posted July 14, 2018 Hi all! I am going to Korea in a few days and am going to be staying there for two weeks for breast augmentation and nose surgery. I was wondering for those after surgery, if they went sightseeing or if they stayed around in their apartments. I know that of course the first few days you have to be in bed, recovery, but after five days or so can you just put on a face mask and go explore Korea? Asking because this is my first time I will be visiting. Also if you can go sightseeing is there any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

honeyjello Posted July 14, 2018 Posted July 14, 2018 It's quite normal if you are in the sinsa/apgujeong/gangnam area. But i don't know about other places. You can always wear a face mask to hide your nose cast (i've seen many people do that for rhino, locals and tourists there). For breasts, idk but i would think the initial recovery period would be longer? It's best to check with your clinic when you can start going out after surgery.
pear-orange Posted July 14, 2018 Posted July 14, 2018 I guess I'll be relying on mask and sunglasses when going out lol From what I know, recovery period for BA is indeed longer, especially if implant is placed under the muscle.

I'm so healthy for your information I had no problem doing any activities but I got a bit tired 4~5 hours walking around so I used to come back to my hotel. I recommend you visiting shopping malls. I liked IFC
thelilachour Posted July 15, 2018 Posted July 15, 2018 I walked around a lot 2 days after fc, mainly shopping (the one activity I rarely tire from) in myeongdong, dongdaemun, various areas of gangnam. Some days I walked over 12h and took advantage of the 24h shopping seoul has. The odd person, usually another foreigner or old lady would look at me twice but generally locals there follow the “it is rude to stare and ask questions” rule. They would only ask politely if I mentioned it first. A couple people who I talked to knew immediately what I had done because it was that familiar to them (hotel staff, restaurant servers). And knew what foods and help I might need without me requesting, since I couldn’t really talk coherently (pumpkin porridge, ice etc lol). I went to Tokyo after and people seem to be less familiarized but are just as polite. Going back to the US afterwards and experiencing the stark contrast made me a little ashamed of how rude/nosy people can be lol. Keep in mind you can’t put weight like sunglasses or glasses on your nose for a while after rhinoplasty, but you can tape them on your forehead (lol). So it may not be a concealment option unless you just have DES/fc. Also my fc compression bands covered my ears making it hard to wear a face mask, I wore a wrap scarf instead.

thelilachour Posted July 15, 2018 Posted July 15, 2018 I would consult with surgeon but imo I woulf avoid anything that could possibly lead to asymmetry in healing...my surgeon recommended me not to wear glasses for at least 3-6 months but I did a year just to be safe and I think it was worth it because my nose healed without any bumps, compared to some of my friends who developed a bump or flatter shape

Surgery is very common in Korea so I don't think it's a big problem unless you are so self conscious. In Sinsa, Apgujeong, Gangnam or Myeongdong, I saw some people just walk around and have fun shopping with her friends or relatives. It depends, what would you like to see? For shopping, I recommend Myeongdong or Dongdaemun. For sightseeing, you can go to Gyeongbokgung palace, Namsan Tower, Nami Island, Petite France. If you can go to another city, it will be better. Because now is summer, not so many things to see except beach or such.
jess-cook Posted July 17, 2018 Posted July 17, 2018 For Breast Augmentation, this surgery is the most painful procedure in entired of plastic surgery as I know from my friends experience (That was 4-5 years ago). She cnt move anywhere by herself so her sister helped her for a month (That time she had to hold the blood bag with her...) I do not think it will easy for you to sightseeing after breast surgery. What about sightseeing before surgery?
amazingdifference Posted July 18, 2018 Posted July 18, 2018 Trust me girl. it totally depends on each individual. many of my friends have gone through breast jobs and we always discuss about PS. in my perspective, if your skin is tight and if you are very skinny, it's going to hurt a little. but if your skin is elastic and soft, it's not going to hurt.
watermelon09 Posted July 18, 2018 Posted July 18, 2018 In my personal opinion, breast surgery is considered a big surgery so I think you better consider your body condition and don't do it on your last moment in Korea (because you don't know there will be some problems or not)
