Why you should not have plastic surgery in South Korea

If you want Botox or body lipo, there is absolutely no reason to go to Korea for that vs. doing it in your own country (assuming you live in a 1st world country with licensed plastic surgeons). However, if you are Asian and you want your nose done or eyes did, I absolutely would NOT do it in the U.S. I wasted 2x as much money getting stuff done in my 20s with zero results (yet massive debt) in the U.S. While I ended up having issues w/ my surgeries in Korea (unrelated to plastic surgery -- turns out I can't have implants of any sort due to autoimmune issues), the aesthetic outcome was much, much different than what the U.S. and to offer. The price of, say, eye surgery (for example) was only marginally cheaper than the U.S. and, as you pointed out, easily eaten away by the cost of plane ticket and hotel. However, the aesthetic outcome was far more dramatic and I just don't think U.S. doctors are comfortable doing such a dramatic change. I had a huge, wide, flat nose beforehand (and remained so after surgery #1 with a US doctor) and while my nose isn't perfect now, it's 1000x better. I just don't think doctors in the U.S. understand that kind of aesthetic change (and the few that do want 8-20K; I paid $2500 in Korea).

I also hope you did not take offense to my earlier post, I wrote that at 12 AM and was attempting to explain other countries have different cultural values. So while Americans associate a plastic surgeon with how famous they are and which celebrities they operated on. In Korea, it's not the same mindset although I think we'd all love to know our favorite k-pop star's plastic surgeon. And if I recall correctly, the Korean Medical Board doesn't approve of PS promoting themselves. Dr. Oh from Regen got a suspension for appearing on TV.

There are other famous clinics and doctors that too have had made appearances on television but unlike Dr. Oh they did not get suspended. Stop typing things just for the sake of it.

I have mentioned Jogak many times, but it was done on at most 3 different threads during the beginning of 2018 when I got this surgery. I rarely mention them anymore nowadays. I don't even reply to my "Head Augmentation" thread anymore as it is self sufficient unlike "How to look 20 as a 50 year old" thread. It's one thing to sing praises within a month of surgery and a completely different business to post delusional selfies of a 50 year old pretending to be a 20 year old and obsessively crediting a clinic months on to come in various threads.

You concluding on her to be a "Supposed MVP promoter" might be true but you have no rights to call her delusional. Who are you to set the parameters of delusion for anyone? OR are you trying to rather project yourself? A 28+ guy pretending to be a 25-year-old guy on kakao group chats. I have seen you mentioning Jogak many times on rhinoplasty group chat, also I have seen you mention about your rhino revision done in Korea at some jjp clinic, whereas, here you are telling people that you'd totally avoid getting rhino done in Korea. Double standards hunh...?

It's all about timing. Might be that when you are online he's not and vice-versa.

I'm not understanding your hostility ElijahSpk. If you doubt Dr. Oh's suspension was from media appearances. Share your source of information. Otherwise, "do stop typing things just for the sake of it."

And umm... you're not a ADMIN or MOD, so where do you derive your power to tell others what they can and can't type?

If you actually use your head a bit, you'll realize I never really concluded anything about anyone. I only made observations. I don't even know what "parameters of delusion" even means. Nor am I aware of a "jpp clinic". I did a quick search on the rhino chat and couldn't find any mention of head augmentation.
Also, I never got rhino revision.
Sadly in one post you managed to get so many things wrong...If you're going to be a hater, at least be a reasonable one.

English is actually not that much of an issue. Korea is adapting and there are quite a bit of English signs in the streets right next to Korean ones.

Also, in general, I too wouldn't go to have surgeries in big hospitals in Korea. Smaller clinics that specialize like the Dental Clinics (TFD, EU, etc) are nice for Facial contouring, but otherwise, I'd avoid the big/medium clinics. I'd never do any rhinoplasty of any sort in Korea.

He has had favourable reviews from @dannythedragon, @ohaiolos, @smitten_kitten, @owlgore, @ducktail and so many other asian pf members who did trust him to do their eyes and/or rhinos.

As a former surgeon , I understand how busy he was operating as he does consults in his scrubs in between cases so yes even my consult was 5 minutes. Even before my lip lift with UK Miss Mills she takes a few minutes to confirm how many mms to excise as does Dr Seo with your des before the operation. How long do you need to show a surgeon the crease you want? My Asian friend dannythedragon had botched eyes that in my opinion only Dr Seo could fix and he did in January this year. Alas another pfer with botched eyes went to SMPS and ended up no better. Dannythedragon had wasted £7000 on a UK ps who did bad fat grafting on him. Dr Seo gave him lid fat grafting and even offered full face. If you are Asian and have had botched des or fg, then Dr Seo is a must. My face was messed up with fg x 3 by DA and Dr Seo fixed my face by doing fg the proper way.

I would recommend Caucasian men get their ps in USA as surgeons there have more experience with Caucasian faces and aesthetics.

I am a mixed Asian.... got some east but mostly central/southeast.
Been curiously reading your recs and am thinking about a primary rhino either next month or in Jan.

I don't know how long he's been in practice. Can we estimate 10 years? In that case he's done about 9000 surgeries not including his internships and studies and assistant times.

Out of 9000 surgeries, you've given a personal example of yours and 5 other PF members assuming they haven't been paid off/offered discounts to write reviews (which happens on PF)...assuming they haven't changed their minds after 100% healing over time and have forgotten or not cared to update their reviews. That's a total of 6 positive reviews...a 0.000666% sample size is insignificantly small. if you claim that Dr Seo has performed 100% successfully on all 9000 of his surgeries then I'm sure he would've been world famous. Models, celebrities, and actors around the world would adore him and he'd be praised as a jewel of the Korean PS industry. I wouldn't have to just hear about him from you alone.

I think you get the point here. The correct answer is that its difficult to know what to expect with regards to Plastic Surgery especially in a foreign country like Korea. There is high risk here and the best way to proceed differs from people to people. Actually a good strategy is to avoid PS when you can entirely.

You can always get down to gritty with stats... I think MissO and I must have similar personalities. If things worked well for her, she is going to rave about, why not? It seems like she has great personal knowledges about plastic surgeries. So far I only read one negative review of MVP. We Koreans like to share good things and good news, also voicing negative feed back either. I am going to be consulting with MVP in couple of days, if I feel MVP is being promoted I won’t be too shy about sharing that either. Wish me luck! As beautiful MissO is, I am only going for anti aging. I like my big jaws and big cheek bones. I embrace my over sized head! Even though her lips are awesome and tempting.

Well, rhinoplasty is a big surgery. And I wouldn't want to do any big surgeries in Korea with the popular clinics that offer them. However, I give exceptions to things like genioplasty, 2Jaw, or Vline at dental clinics and things like head augmentation at small/specialized clinics like Jogak. You get to actually build relationships with the doctors in your consultations.

If you can find small clinics like these that specialize and give solid results for rhinoplasty and eye surgeries (I haven't found any) then by all means go for it. And, don't tell me about Cocoline and Teium because they suck in my opinion.

Do you know off had of any small clinics that specialize in DES or Two jaw?
I really wanted to get all my surgeries done at once somewhere like Banobagi or Regen, but based on what you and others are saying is it better to do each surgery separate at a specialized place?
If anyone has insights for this it would be much appreciated
