  1. @carlabell yes a lot of swelling, it went down pretty fast considering how much i had. i guess it was all the pumpkin porridge

in terms of everyday life i guess i could say i'm back to normal, sometimes it feels a little awkward since parts of my chin and nose are still numb but it isn't really a big deal. when i'm at work/out i barely even notice it. the past 2 weeks my nose was really dry actually, i had to be diligent with moisture cause it looked pretty bad but it's fine now.

  2. pretty good, I had three after care sessions in total.
first was 2 days post-op, the gauze covering the bottom of my nose was removed and they cleaned up the area a bit then added a fresh gauze.

second one was 7 days post-op. one of the staff washed my hair and then stuffing inside my nose was removed as well as some of the stitches. bandage on my chin was also removed. Dr. Ahn came in for a quick look at my nose

final one was the day before i left 13 days post-op. last stitches were removed, met with both Dr. Ahn and Lee and got a de-swelling treatment.

  3. Finally returned to Korea to finish getting work done. I went to DA in late August for revision nose surgery and facial contour (sliding genioplasty, removal of chin implant).

Planning everything with the English consultant Sky was great, always quick with replying back to me and providing info for any question I asked. There's another English consultant Sarah who helps out when you're there too. Loved them both!

I met with Dr. Ahn first for my nose. The issue with my nose was that the tip was droopy (I had tip-plasty previously) and the bridge area was crooked. I had no previous bridge work before it was just like that, but we discovered that my septal cartilage was pretty damaged. I did knee myself in the face a few months ago was a trampoline so... I also had a tiny hump on my bridge which I wanted smoothed out. I really liked how detailed his explanations were, he touched my nose and took time to listen to what I wanted and then explained everything fully. Also, liked that he was realistic when explaining the results, bridge area wouldn't be 100% perfectly straight (which I didn't mind anyway since that tends to look a bit unnatural, and I'm going for more subtle results) currently 20 days post-op and yes not perfectly straight but it's a big improvement from before.

Next was Dr. Lee for my chin. My chin implant came out looking a bit too pointy, and my chin area in general was asymmetrical. He explained that he would remove the chin implant, remove excess bone?? from one side so it's even. I honestly can't remember the exact explanation given to make both sides more symmetrical but he did that along with the sliding genioplasty! I'm super glad he was my Dr really happy with the results so far.

I think I underestimated the recovery process, since my first surgeries weren't that big a deal. Individually it would have been easy I think, but together? Doing facial contouring and nose at the same time to be blunt...will **** you up  Day 1-3 post-op was the absolute worst. Nose was completely blocked up, and my throat was really sore and also blocked a bit. Don't think I even slept for the first night cause I couldn't breathe. My lips were so swollen too it was a chore to drink water and attempt to eat pumpkin porridge. Speaking of pumpkin porridge I think pumpkin might be forever ruined for me, had a pumpkin spice frapp the other day and my mind kept going back to the porridge...

As each day passed things became more bearable and the swelling started to reduce. Around day 6-7 I was able to eat more "normally". I'm happy that there weren't any complications.

Mentioned earlier I'm 20 days post-op and my chin area is still a bit numb/awkward feeling, along with my nose. Excited to see how everything heals

  4. I recently became friends with a international student from Busan, and we eventually got to talking about PS etc. and he mentioned his Aunt got a couple procedures done and follows the "beauty" scene quite closely. For those who don't know Busan is the 2nd largest city in S Korea, after Seoul.

Sooo has anyone ever been to Busan for surgery or read about clinics there? anything at all. I don't really see them being mentioned here but there has to be some really good ones.

  5. For bringing money/walking around with it get something from pacsafe, that's what I did and had 0 worry about losing my cash (also put my passport and other important stuff in it too)

this is the one I have http://www.pacsafe.com/coversafe-x75.html (older model though) they have a lot of great products. website says ships to U.S only but I got mine at a local outdoor/travel store. tons of places online like Amazon should have their products too

  6. You have to remember that agencies have special relationships with certain clinics too, so it's highly likely that they will coax/persuade you into getting work done at a certain clinic. There's stories dating back to when I first joined of professional translators not out-right bad mouthing clinics, but planting those little seeds of doubt so you have second thoughts. They also know how vulnerable and overwhelmed people can be during all this and of course will use it to their advantage to persuade.

Going with an official agency always opens a complicated can of worms even if you're aware of their tactics. Are the clinics you're interested in have 0 English speaking staff? imo there isn't really any other major reason to get an agency (some places with korean/chinese only will even get temporary english staff, the price will be reflected on surgery of course but still won't be higher than an agency's commission).

Like babysevenohx I'm also not a fan of agencies but at the end of the day it is your decision. Just please be careful!

  7. get your korean friends to find a doctor there that has positive reviews or a good reputation, before going to your consultation contact the hospital again and specifically ask for him/her

  8. My parents freaked out when I told them, then when I said I wanted it done in Korea they freaked out even more

The whole situation was a bit annoying to me, I understood that they were really worried something would happen to me etc. but the way they were speaking to me was as if I did 0 research and just decided to do surgery on a whim. Anyway, they're fine with it now and like that the results are subtle. They don't know I wanna go back to get my nose done again tho!

One of my cousins is the only other family member who knows. She was 100% supportive.

Only a couple of my friends know and they're fine with it. I've gotten comments that my face looks "slimmer" since my surgery but no one has ever asked if I did something.

  9. I think I met her when I went to dream back in august (she was still training, only her 2nd day on the job)

    She's really nice and friendly!

  10. congrats on your surgeries!

you're lucky to see results so early in. 1 week post-op they basically looked the same to me, but then i had to get the stitches from my lip removed and that made them swell. right after they went down, at two weeks post op i had to get stitches removed from my mouth cause of my chin implant and that caused them to swell again lol....

i'm 1 month post op now and i can finally notice results. i can't wait to see what they look like in another 1-2 months.

  11. i do but i don't really use it anymore since i'm not in korea!

i haven't decided if i'll share pictures yet, maybe. if i do it won't be for another 3-6 weeks until more swelling is down

  12. I had surgery with LIFE on the 14th, experience can be found on my blog linked in my sig.

Guys I can't get over how great Dr. Kim is he's such a cool guy. I'm happy with my results so far but it's still a bit too early to tell since I'm only 12 days post-op. Really hoping there's still a lot of swelling to go down.

Just a warning for anyone who tries to contact them at the moment they don't have a english consultant, for my surgery day and check ups they hired a temporary girl from another hospital.

  13. Finally finished my consultation and surgery + recovery process reviews. I like the results so far but swelling is still really bad. http://purasuchikkuboy.blogspot.ca/2014/08/in-person-consultations.html surgery day can be found in the next post. It was so hard choosing between life and jw!

After my surgery I chatted with Daphne for a bit via e-mail (eng consultant at Dream) and she gave me some pretty interesting info. We started to talk about other clinics since she asked if I wouldn't mind telling her who I chose over Dream.

Apparently JW is pretty big competition for them and they recently lost quite a few potential clients to them. Wonjin still has a good reputation among Koreans, she was surprised to learn it has a bad rep with oversea people (basically this forum). She also told me Grand isn't doing too well and has a bad reputation among Koreans right now.

  14. Ohh yeah they recently lost their eng consultant so for any English speaking people looking for inquires replied will definitely be slow, they're in the process of looking for a new person now. The eng consultant currently with me is temporary, she's from another hospital.

I got a standard anatomic silicone implant. I didn't need length, but when you looked at me from the side you could really see how my chin receded.

  15. Just did nose, chin and lips with LIFE...and I'm not in pain? My chin feels a little odd because of the implant but I was expecting thiings to be 10x worse. I hope I didn't jinx myself watch tomorrow it all comes!

I'm working on writing in depth on how things went. TypeIng on iPad is kinda annoying tho so I might wait until I get home. Besides life I visited dream and jw

Oh and I saw that poster protesting JW on Tuesday in the morning. But when I came back at around 1pm it was gone. It wasn't there when I went to get my surgery today also.

  16. Ohhhh you were referring to those procedures! I'm the same way, I only wanna do my main procedures once. I'm still not 100% sure if I want lip reduction, I'm leaning towards yes but rhino and chin implant are my main priorities.

    life's website http://eng.mylifeps.com/

  17. ahhh are revisions really common for lip reduction? i didn't come across that in my research. is it because the lips aren't small enough or b/c of something else?

Grand, LIFE and Pitangui offer it too. dream has http://en.e-dream.co.kr/info/face/aso i don't think they have normal lip reduction tho...cause i definitely don't want or need jaw surgery. i'll just ask if they would be able to do the normal kind during my in-person consultation next month

  18. Practice doctors??? why would she agree to that zzzzzzzzzz, unless she had no idea. She probably got everything done for a really cheap price...

JW wanting to sue her for sharing a bad review seems too dramatic though, I don't think I believe that.

For me I pay attention more to the Doctors than the clinic itself. If I was able to get a consultation with Dr. Suh then I still go to JW. Same goes for clinics with a bad reputation like grand. If I was guaranteed time with Dr. Rhee (only him) then I would go to them

  19. I arrive in Korea August 10th. I just added their Kakao and asked if they had an English consultant/I was interested in having a consultation them with. But the person replied with "sorry...i am not good at english :sweatdrop:" and the convo kind of went no where from there lol

Back in 2013 a member here had a consultation with them and had this to say

"Man & Nature *The main Dr forgot his name*

Nose - Tiplasty - Ear Cartilage
    Chin - Implant

You need to know some basic Korean, and doctors English is OK. This is a fancy apugujeong clinic only for men, and it is super cheap! Now I know that the big clinics love to rip off foreigners after visiting this place. I didn't feel confident in his deviated septum skills and he's better with Asian noses. Featured in Wall Street Journal. If you are going to have non-complex and implant based procedures and are an Asian dude on a budget this place might be good fit."

I'm only 25% asian so my nose is very far from the "typical asian nose" and I'm not getting a implant so I don't really mind that I couldn't get a consultation with them. What other clinics are you interested in?
