I first tried contacting Dream 3 days ago through their online consultation area on their website. They replied back a day later saying how it will take "several days" for me to get a price estimate...which I take as a good sign b/c it most likely means Dr. Park himself will look at my pictures etc. Or at least I hope so
Maybe try emaling [email protected] and telling them email towards [email protected] aren't working. There's a possibility they don't realize their mailbox is full??
Itaewon is a district in Seoul. It has many english speakers there because it's a popular area for U.S military personnel stationed in Korea. Myeongdong is a popular shopping district.
Why is everyone saying to bring USD now did I miss something??? You will be losing out by doing more than one conversion, you should try to avoid doing multiple conversions. Just bring your home currency to Korea. Since the US dollar is weak right now wouldn't you be getting less too?
I recently decided I'd like to get fat grafting done on my forehead...and from what I've read the results kinda depend on the person? I'd be really pissed if you can't even tell you got anything done 3 months post op lol. I don't mind 50% of it being absorbed as long as my forehead still looks better than it did originally.
Anyone who got their forehead done have any updated results??
Oh wow and to think I was originally planning to go to korea at the beginning of may...really hope he isn't away again in august
My chin was quoted 2.5 - 2.7 million KRW!! Not too big a difference I guess, will definitely be able to bargain down in person lol.
lips 2.3 - 2.5 million KRW. might as well add my nose price too Alar reduction 700,000 - 770,000 won and tipplasty 2 - 2.2 million KRW. don't have a price for lateral osteotomy cause they didn't mention me needing one but another clinic did so I'll ask them about it when I go.
I'm planning to get my nose done (alar, tip-plasty, possible lateral osteotomy) and chin implant. I'm also considering getting a slight lip reduction.
Have you done an online consultation with them yet? I'm wondering if they will refer you to Dr. Rhee or Dr. Dong Ho. When I originally did my online consultation with them at the beginning of the year Dr. Rhee was promoted as the "main" surgeron. I didn't specifically ask for him but in the reply I was told Dr. Rhee looked over my pictures and would be the one doing my surgery if I decide to go with them. Now when you go to http://eng.mylifeps.com/our-medical-team/ Dr. Dong Ho is now at the top!
LIFE is my #1 choice right now. The B&A pictures are limited because they are a new clinic, opened in fall 2013 I believe? Maybe it is your browser tho cause there is like 7 diff people.
I've heard good things about one of the main surgeons Sewhan Rhee, he's been mentioned here a few times. He used to do VIP patients at Grand but then left to open his own clinic. Wonder if it had to do with many of Grand's other surgeons doing too many botched jobs!!! I haven't heard anything about the other surgeon "Kim Dong Ho"
Did a online consultation with JW and was a bit underwhelmed. It took them 8 days to reply, I realize they're really popular with oversea patients and probably get tons of emails everyday but I just got a typical copy+paste reply. Waiting 8 days just for that??
The entire email was basically just talking about the clinic itself. In business for 16 years, good natural results, popular with non Koreans etc. blah blah blah At the bottom of the email they briefly talked about the procedures I wanna get done. They are the only clinic so far to give me estimates in USD which I found interesting. They probably just assumed I was American
Nose: 5.2k USD
- alar reduction
- tip-plasty
- lateral osteotomy (maybe). they were the first clinic to say I might possibly need this
what kind of nose surgery are you planning to get? if it involves augmentation then i don't think you can do both for 5k. if you're going for an alar reduction or tiplasty then you should have enough, after potentially bargaining in person.
grand was recently in trouble again. on feb 12th there was a protest going on against them because a highschool girl got surgery done there and slipped into a coma...maybe they are referring to the story below
I agree with Yoshieee, you are a great asset to this forum and helped TONS of people including me.
I've been having some doubts myself even though I don't plan to go to Korea until sometime in August. As I told you via private message LIFE plastic surgery is my top choice right now, but after reading their facebook/blog/twitter etc. I've noticed they do a lot of pandering/promotion to international clients...not that there's anything wrong with that it just gives me some second thoughts. It isn't easy going to another country for surgery and it really does make us easy targets, lots of clinics wanna take advantage of that. There have been times where I just wanna call off the whole thing and not get anything done but I know I'll just end up regretting that decision.
I'm sure that once you go to Korea you will find the perfect clinic for your needs. Nothing beats a in person consultation and I know you will definitely be able to tell if they're the real deal or not. Good luck!!
Regarding changing money in Seoul. I know to avoid doing it at the airport (unless it's a very small amount) but I've heard in-order to get the best exchange rates you should do it at the dedicated money changers in Itaewon. I've heard they have better rates than the bank. Anyone have insight on this?

^
^what clinic did you go to? and what doctor did the work
i think most people are aware of the risks of going to a foreign country..even though more can go wrong overseas i've still heard TONS of horror stories from people that got surgery in my city, and i live in toronto so it's not like some tiny place with no technology etc. that's just how surgery is
i'm personally going to korea because surgeons there have a certain aesthetic that's difficult to find anywhere else. the reasonable price too
Did online consultation with LIFE plastic surgery.
I loved the email reply I got. I found it to be very professional with lot's of detail. Here's some of it
In the email they also linked to various hotels near the clinic and offered to help with reservations if I needed it which I thought was nice. Anyway on to the prices
Nasal Tiplasty - 2 - 2.2 million won
Alar Base reduction - 700 - 770k won
Chin Implant - 2.5 - 2.7 million won
Lip reduction - 2.3 - 2.5 million won
Did online consultation with Pitangui, Nicole is the one that replied back to my email. I was really happy with her response it was well detailed and she replied back pretty quick.
The three rhinoplasty procedures they suggested all cost 1million - 1.2million KRW. Potentially paying under $1k for a nose job is just crazy to me omfg. The three they suggested were
Nose tiplasty (Bulbous nose tip correction)
Nose tiplasty with ear cartilage
Alar base reduction
For a lip reduction they quoted me 2 million - 2.5 million for both lips. They also suggested that I get a chin implant (which I agree with, didn't notice how bad it looked until I took lots of side profile pictures lol..) and also quoted me 2 million - 2.5 million for that.
I'm really happy with these prices. Assuming everything costs the max that they quoted me on it would be 6.2million KRW, where I live the price to get one nose job is generally in that price range, usually more expensive. I can probably bargain down to 5.5 mil or 5?
i think you would be okay if you leave your phone in airplane mode and then connect to wi-fi? there's literally wi-fi everywhere in seoul so you would easily be able to contact people via kakao talk/LINE/whatsapp/skype etc. only downside is that you can't text or make calls...but it would definitely save money.
if you really wanna make calls and text then there's the option of renting a phone.
Yes there was a forum member here that got two major surgeries a day apart from different clinics. She got a canthoplasty and tip reduction at pitangui and then v-line the next day at ever-m. I remember cause I asked her a question but she hasn't logged on since July 9th @__@
