  1. Hi dearie, are you confirmed that you want to do your nose and eyes with Dream? If you are unsure or would like to meet the doctors first / or get a second opinion, I think it's okay to wait. 50% of the surgery fee is half of the entire surgery fee which will be tied up with them, and it's normal to feel uncomfortable.

  2. Hi dearie, I just found your thread. My results are really conservative (which is what I asked for), but I did do osteotomy, tip plasty, and alar plasty. I'm also Southeast Asian. My nose prior to surgery was wide and bulbous, and although I was happy with my nose height, my bones between my eyes were wide. I did my surgery at JW Beauty with Dr Suh in 2015, and it was my first time ever in Korea and also my first elective surgery ever so I was so so so scared but I told myself that I saved for this and I really hated my nose then. Please remember that I did my nose job in 2015 so the information/situation may be different now.

    2) Touch-ups/maintenance for nose surgery - I didn't have any silicone implant or donated dermis/rib so I didn't do any touch-ups/reoperation/revision. For me, all the surgeons I consulted then told me I should also do bridge plasty to add about 1mm-2mm or so in height for the bridge. Back in 2015, I didn't know of "dolly noses" and I think the ideal nose back then was straight and sharp, at least to me that was the ideal. But I didn't want to do bridge plasty because I already had a decent bridge height and I felt like 1mm-2mm was such a minuscle change that I didn't want to risk putting anything foreign in my body like silicone. Of course at that time I'd also heard of rib but since I was a student then and self-paying i couldn't afford the damn rib (donated or my own) to build up the bridge lol. So I told the surgeon forget the bridgeplasty and I remember him asking me, puzzled, "Why not?" haha.

But I don't think re-surgeries/touch-up/maintenance for rhinoplasty should be happening unless you have an infection with the silicone. From what I recall from consultations with surgeons, actual silicone rejection/infection by the body is a rare side effect. Donated dermis/rib is supposed to reduce the likelihood of any rejection/infection, but the problem with using autologous materials (I think, i did my research quite a while back so i'm rusty with nose jobs) is actually with the absorption. I believe not everything will be absorbed on the primary (i.e. first) rhinoplasty but the degree to which absorption happens and whether the absorption rate can be predicted - that's what I don't know about. So basically my nose job was a "one-and-done" deal with the clinic - I just did it and didn't have any follow-up with them or any other doctor after that trip to Korea ended.

    3) Osteotomy - As earlier mentioned I did an osteotomy to "push in" the bones between my eyes, to make it a bit narrower. I knew for sure that I needed this because I had a wide nose and wasn't gonna do the bridgeplasty. All I can say is the bruising around the whole area was pretty bad, understandable because its bones. But right now (5 years later) I have no problems with touching those bones or wearing spectacles. But I didn't wear glasses or go swimming for almost half a year - a year after surgery.

You can click on my post history, I think its visible to see, what I wrote about my nose job experience and there are many posts in this forum about nose jobs. Bear in mind that I'm in no way recommending JW. I didn't receive any discounts from them, and also my surgeries were in 2015. JW's reputation might have changed from that time.

  3. It did! Conservative changes was what I asked for and received. Thinking back, maybe I overpaid. But I'm glad it turned out ok.

  4. @chanelsaint, i just read through the entire thread and i'm appalled at how they treated you.
i was wondering whether you could report the clinic to PRS Korea? Or any of the governing bodies of medicine in Korea.
I don't know how the complaint system works in Korea. Is there any possibility that doctors found guilty of medical malpractice can be barred from medical practice?

  5. I've just discovered your thread and read through the whatsapp correspondence. First of all I'm so sorry that this happened to you! Your replies in the whatsapp are so composed and you took such practical steps to move towards a solution. If it were me, I would be screaming, crying, dramatic, and out-of-control. Respect you.

  6. For me too. 1.4m KRW could cover my living costs for at least a month/ month and a half here at home.
Does anybody know about plastic surgery in Thailand? Thai plastic surgeons do some amazing facial feminization work but I don't know anybody personally so I can't get a recommendation. Haha...

  7. Hi @lightspeed , when I did my rhinoplasty in 2015 I flew home after about 10 days in Korea. On my last checkup, Dr Suh commented that I am taking a long time to deswell. I still had the under-eye hollowness, swelled nose, and a bit of bruising under my eyes etc. But it wasn't too bad, I still looked normal, just very tired (lol). From my perspective, I'd rather do the surgery first and then travel the country afterwards. You could possibly get more prolonged aftercare from the clinic/hospital in Korea, and unless you meet someone you're very familiar with when you're travelling, you'll look normal to everyone else after about 10 days. I think the season you go in is also important. I went in summer and it was hot! I've heard that doing PS in the cool season is better as deswelling is faster, but if you want to travel, there'll be a trade-off with the cold.

  8. I just messaged you on KKT!!
Sure thing. However I'm still under a lockdown plus now I'll need to get a visa to go to Korea (increased border restrictions from coronavirus) Don't know when I'll be able to make it to Korea. I feel like I'm hovering between Braun and Girin for the time being. For Braun's aftercare, I think it's 4 deswelling treatments? That's what I understood from the videos I watched hehe.

  9. @kmhd , are we twins? haha i'm considering the same clinics as you!!!
I checked out Braun's English youtube channel. Under the facial feminization surgery, I believe a quick zygoma reduction was done as the incision was at the cheekbones. There were some overall changes to the face shape (i.e. the face became smaller) but she already had somewhat of a V-line prior to surgery. I'm not so sure whether quick zygoma reduction can be used in assymetrical cases or where cheekbones are slightly protruding.

I consulted Braun over KKT. They take a long time to reply, but their consultant was one of the few to let me know that if I'm not interested in zygoma reduction, I don't have to do it and V-line will give a good result. Of course it's hard to tell over pictures and things could change during consultation but on balance I prefer to be told that I need less procedures rather than more. I'm not super into the small-face, pointy chin aesthetic.

  10. I'm also in the self-paying boat!! For my nose job in 2015 I basically scrimped and saved, and then went to Korea alone to get it done. I think my self-esteem was really low then and I had the mentality that my nose couldn't look any worse than it does now, so I don't care if something awful happens to me here. My goodness.

Fast forward 5 years now I'm looking into FC, and this time around I think I'm much more mentally prepared! One good thing about self-paying is that reminds me that I'm responsible for myself and my choices, and that's often a balancing act with other financial goals and commitments.

  11. Hi Valenrina, I'm also from SG. I have a quote from the National Dental Centre for a 3D cone beam CT scan, would it be helpful for you? I can PM you the backstory.

  12. I am happy that you're happy!!! Where are you from, if you don't mind me asking? You can PM me at our chat too, if you're not comfortable stating here.
I heard BA recovery is painful too. Do rest more and recover well!!

  13. I see.. thanks! Could you DM me the price you paid for FC with Fresh? Many thanks.

  14. Congratulations! So happy for you, as a fellow former acne sufferer.

  15. Hi Sara, thanks for sharing your experience!!

May I know what's the difference between facial liposuction and buccal fat removal and how you decided on the facial lipo?

  16. Hi Ppur, could I find out which doctor you went to at Girin? I'm also considering Girin for V-line facial contouring.
For the fat dissolving injections at the buccal fat area, how come you did not just decide to remove the buccal fat completely via incision in the mouth? Is the fat dissolving injections permanent and did it give you a "hollowed" cheek look?

Thanks!! I'm currently considering a buccal fat removal

  17. Hi Cheesybeast! My jawspo is also Jung Chaeyeon!!

I'm currently considering FC procedures and buccal fat removal. Could I PM you also? Just wanted to hear more about your experience with TFD.
