Now I finally took the step to get surgery done and I knew that I want to share my story with others. Here are many people posting, but while researching I felt that most people visit similar clinics, bigger ones with positive and negative reviews.

For sure, I don’t think that there’s the perfect clinic outside, but I hoped back then to find a clinic with an overall better appearance.

To me: I’m german-thai mixed. I was already born with a double eyelid and a very high nosebridge (many people asked me if I had fillers or surgery, but I never had any before). But I was still never satisfied. I wanted longer eyes, because they are very short and I have very big pupils, which make my eyes look even smaller. My aim was to get ist outer corners extended with lateral canthoplasty.

My eyelid also formed a triple eyelid on one eye. It never disturbed me that much, but I thought that when my eyes are already swollen due surgery, I could get it fixed aditionally, because my face would be already swollen anyway.

Concerning my nose: I just wanted simple tip-plasty, since my tip was a bit bulbous and formed a stup nose. I wanted a more mature look by lowering it.

I didn’t get surgery in Germany, because a clinic quoted me 5000€ for simple tip-plasty and I wasn’t sure if they could handle an european-asian nose. Moreover, I also didn’t get anything done in Thailand, because I felt that some clinics recommended me procedures in which they’re good at and not which were necessary for me. Whenever I mentioned that I wanted bigger eyes, they recommended canthoplasty in ordert o remove my monogalian fold. But I feared the distance between my eyes would look to short and weird.

That was when I decided to get surgery in Korea. I informed myself through this forum and had many online consulations with many clinics. I made an appointment with the clinics that sounded reasonable and were friendly. I knew I couldn’t feel comfortable with an unfriendly consultant. (For sure if the clinic is good, some would still consider going to these appointments, but it rather made me anxious…).

So before I came to Korea I made appointments with: a bigger clinic (I won’t mention ist name for personal reasons), Hyundae and Wannabe. I also thought of going to Kooki (Cooki ?) Clinic, but I didn’t make an appointment.

Before my arrival I decided not to go to Hyundae due financial aspects. In their e-mails they seemed very professional and they always answered everything very carefully and friendly. Just the price was way too much, but included was also a transport from the airport.

I arrived on a sunday in Seoul to make sure to be fit for the consultations on monday. I had an appointment with a bigger clinic which doesn’t really have a good reputation... The consultant was pushy and totally fake friendly. She laughed about everything I said even though I didn’t make a joke LOL. After a patient walked by and me seeing her botched nose, I knew I wouldn’t come back.

Afterwards I went spontaneously to Cooki Clinic, it was a small clinic, but they had many patients in the waiting room which were mostly korean. Even though there were only two doctors, I could directly talk to one that would’ve done my eyes, I unfortunately forgot her name. She was very friendly, also the consultant was very kind. The doctor for the nose was in a surgery, so I couldn’t talk to him. They quoted me a price of which I thought it could be over-priced, but since I hadn’t any clue how much koreans normally pay, I can’t say much about it. Actually I was thinking about going there, but they actually wouldn’t perform what I wanted, so it would’ve been very unnecessary.

On this day I had my last consultation at Wannabe PS with which I ended up having surgery with. It was also a smaller clinic with only doctors. I actually prefered small clinics, because I feel that they treat you like a patient and not another factory’s object. I also feared doctor switching, but when they’re only two doctors, it’s actually impossible. I wasn’t able to figure out a lot about them, so I just went there by myself. Maybe that helps some of you.

On Line I talked to my consultant Alexa. With her I felt the most sympathy until now. I really appreciated that she said I am already pretty, but that she can understand if I want to improve my look. In comparison: the first clinic’s consultant said that I will be pretty afterwards… (so am I ugly now? haha)

She even told me that I reminded her of her first patient that also only wanted tip-plasty haha I thought it was very cute that she could still remember some patients! First she kept asking if I got fillers, but then I told her to touch my nose bridge and then she believed it surprised. Before the doctor came, wem ade pictures of my face and some x-rays (this was the only clinic that did this for a consultation that far!). Then I met the doctor Cha who was very kind too. He smiled often and listened carefully to my ideas. He could tell that my bone structure doesn’t allow extended eye outer corners and he agreeded that the remove oft he monogalian fold would make my eyes look too close. He said he could lower my lower eyelid, but it would create a very ‘sad eye shape‘ He said he could fix my tripple eyelid (at this point I wasn’t sure if I really wanted that, because my main aim was longer eyes…)

He then commented on my nose and even touched it to feel how it is build like. I asked for a more defined nose tip and that it gets lowered a bit. Dr. Cha said he could perform that to an extend where my nose wouldn’t appear too long. I also asked for Alarplasty, but he said I wouldn’t be able to breathe if he performed that.

I was quoted a very reasonable price for eyelid and tip-plasty.

I didn’t have to think long. I felt that I should go with this clinic and that they understand my needs and wishes. So I booked the surgery fort he next day. At this time I booked the eyelid-surgery and tip-plasty + short nose correction.

Congratulations and thank you for sharing! Your nose and eyes look beautiful! What type of eyelid surgery did you end up getting? And if I may ask, what did Wannabe end up charging you? They're my top choice for my revision rhino and medial epicanthoplasty.

My final decision of clinic: Uvom, Dr Lee Jung Soo

Cost: 10mil. Krw for rev. rhino & 2 sesions of facial fat graft.

Result: so far, it is too early to judge the result, as it will be settled in 3-6months, or even 1 year. However, im sastified with my choice of clinic, (reasons ‘ll be explained later), tho at this moment there are still things i like and dont like about my current look.

I had consulted with abt 15 clinics online before i came to SK. I focused mostly on meticulousness in their consultation, then prices. Each person has different base, and i was no way interested in a general consultation content like “we will elongate your nose, make tip slimmer, then make this curve as you like...”, with no more details...

So after abt 2 months consulting around, my short list for f2f consults was MVP, Uvom, Ilumi, Dream, Seoullista due to quality of their suggestions on what should be done on my nose. VIP was very good in details also, but price was way super high i couldnt afford.

Sorry, I ‘ll skip all contents of f2f consults with clinics, too long to go in details. I chose Uvom eventually, again because they seemed to be the most detailed in consultation, and what they thought to be done match my expectation; also i vibed with Dr. Lee, he seemed to be very careful and attentive. I started my f2f appointment at 1pm and i left there at 7pm, i myself even couldnt believe it, most of the time i spent with the consultant- Eunice, and saw Dr abt 15 mins only, but the contents satisfied me. All my friends who had come to Uvom also spent hours there. I guess spending that much time on each patient may be one of their strategy, however, it worths trying to consult with them, coz you will find out a lot of new things about ur current conditions. What i like most was that they pointed out my nasolabial angle was very small, and they would fix it with nose- philtrum surgery, which I never knew and thought about.

I think we may appreciate the clinics which take X-ray of our noses for analysis more than those not doing that. For me, MVP was good too, but they just took photos of my nose and anticipation of results was quite poor then, so i crossed them off even tho price was very resonable (they offered me 3.5mil krw only for rhino).

I decided to do all procedures of rhino (except alar plasty, coz im not certain abt scarring matter), and full face FG. For rhino, i used septal cartilage + ear cartilage + PCL for tip, ePTFE for bridge (u can google this material, I like Uvom since they introduced this to me also).

On surgery date, i had about 30-40mins to consult in details with Dr about what to be done. This is very important, so u guys pls remember to note down all the things to be discussed in advance, and make sure u dont forget anything to tell before u go under sedation. I had a 7 hour surgery, waking up with a burning sore throat, and walked back home on my own. I really liked my nose shape right after surgery through the thin layer of bandages. For FG, they filled up my forehead and chin to very nice shapes, but for cheeks (at jaw area) i was really thinking they are underfilled, and Uvom told me that they cannot put a lot of fat in that area, it ll be absorbed fast as we chew, talk... and make the face sunken, etc... temporarily, i trust that explanation.

I dont know why i couldnt sleep for the 1st whole night, i just tried to eat much by drinking liquid food to get energy, pain was little but the sore throat and the cottons blocking ur nostrils were very annoying. I found out that if we try to inhale the bloods in nose to throat and throw out through mouth, the sore will be greatly alleviated. My Day 0 was quite tiring due to lack of sleep.

My swelling due to rhino started at Day 1, my eyes were really purple with bruises, i almost couldnt open my eyes, and my face was like all pumped up. I took bromelain, vit C, tons of pumpkin juice, and did ice packing all the time, then it deswelled amazingly after i woke up on Day 2. Then at the end of Day 2, the swelling due to FG began, my face was pumped up again, more terribly than Day 1. Again, i applied ice packing and all supplements. Swelling decreased gradually in Day 3,4,5. My face shape changed everyday, and this is a very hard time, u couldnt anticipate what will be ur final result, sometimes I liked it a lot, sometimes I hated it the most, so if u can, try to stay away from mirror for 1st week.

I came to Uvom for postop check at Day 2,4,8. Day 2 for nose cleaning, removal of ear bandages. Day 4 for nose cleaning, and columella stitch removal. Day 8 for all remaining stitch removal and some treatments to my ear since i got serious blood accumulation in ear post op. At those 3 checks, i received 3 light beam treatment sessions for deswelling. I am a slow healer, and i tried many method but i still have yellow bruises under eyes til now.

At the moment, i can say i liked the way Dr. Lee shaped my new nose based on my inspirational picture of Go Ah Ra. He formed nice nostrils from my ugly base, straightened up my columella, and make my radix- bridge at the right height. What i liked the most is nasolabial angle is nicely adjusted without any implant to my philtrum. About the tip, i kinda like it much because it looks like a natural nose and matched my aesthetic (from front view tip is a diamond shape as i requested). However, it is still swelling a lot (sigh -<<), and from side view, i think the line is a bit too curvy, and i hope the tip will be much lowered, then it can meet my desire (i know it will certainly be lowered, but just afraid it is not much enough).

For FG, my cheek fat go down a lot, im likely coming back to a hollow-cheek-girl soon, but with filled forehead, temples and chin, I can see that i look much better than before. And there is still 2nd session for me to fix it more, so I dont worry much on my cheeks at this point of time.

If u ask me about Uvom, i ll say I like the clinic, the Doctor (i only knew Dr. Lee, and have no idea about Dr. Kang), the consultant. They will not answer any of ur question in a general way, but they ‘d go into tiny details if u ask it out. For me, at least when a clinic listens carefully to you, they are likely to perform a better job based on well understanding.

Other staff at Uvom are cute and friendly too, tho none of them spoke English to me.

What i felt very cute and funny about them is that they brought me a Teddy Bear for me to hold during my stitch removal ).

I’ve had my rhinoplasty (osteotomy rhinoplasty, hump removal, tip pasty and alar reduction) + under eye fat repositioning surgeries done in Uvom and I'm going to share my experiences here

For those of you who are considering similar surgeries, I will share as much of my personal knowledge as possible, and hopefully what I write here will help you with your research.

My background:

My nose was very deviated and wide. I also had a bump in the middle of my nose, as you can see in my "before" photos. The left side of my nasal bone is larger and longer than the right side, and the nose is tilted to the right side.

I also had dark circles and eye bags that I wanted to correct.

Clinics I consulted with:

I’ve reached out to numerous clinics on Kakao while I was doing my research (Uvom, Namu, View, Docfinders Korea….), and I’ve had f2f consultation with Cinderella, ID, GNG and Uvom. If you want me to share my experience with consultation at these clinics, just ask and I’ll share in the comments.

Consultation at Uvom:

Uvom gave me very prompt and detailed replies during my Kakao consultation. I reached out to them in November 2018 and had many questions, and the consultant answered all of them. The replies were very fast compared to other clinics I was chatting with. The English consultant (who was Susan at that time) gave me a trustworthy and friendly vibe, which is the reason why I chose to do f2f consult with them, despite them being a less well known clinic.

I had my f2f consultation with Uvom in February. The consultation was a whopping 2.5 hours. The consultant Eunice and the English translator Choi were very professional and sweet. They listened to what I wanted and also told me what was achievable in my situation and what was not. In my case, I was told that my facial axis is tilted, resulting my whole face to be curved in a slight C shape. Due to this, they said that it is impossible to make my nose 100% straight . However, they said that there will be an improvement. The surgeon Dr. Lee then came in and confirmed what the consultant told me and set pretty realistic expectations as well. I was not comfortable with using any foreign implants and I didn’t care too much for the bridge height, so Dr Lee said he will use my septal cartilage for the bridge, and for tip he will use ear cartilage. Since my left alar is lower than my right alar, he said he won’t be able to correct that, but he will try to make some adjustments during alar reduction. The doctor that did my under eye fat repositioning was Dr. Kang. He said he will use the fat in my eye bag and reposition it where my tear trough is. Again, the consultant said that there will be an improvement, but cannot be corrected 100%.

The surgery:

My surgery was scheduled for the next day and its pretty much the routine process - no food for 6 hours and no water for 2 hours prior to surgery. I was under sleep sedation for my surgery.

Recovery:

During the 13 days after my surgery, I went to the clinic a total of 7 times for de-swelling treatments and check up. During this time, I didn’t feel any discomfort in my eyes. My eyes were very swollen but it looked worse than it felt. My nose was completely blocked for the first 2 days due to the packing in my nostrils so I had to breathe through my mouth. Because of the anesthetic, I had a very sore throat for the first 3 days and I did not get much sleep at all for the first view nights because of how uncomfortable it was T__T. Even after they took out the packing, my breathing was minimum. I think it’s because the nose is was still very swollen.

After the first few days, the discomfort subsided. The most painful part of this was when they took out the stitches from the base of my nose and on my alar. It was so painful that I cried, lol. However, Eunice and Choi came and held both my hands through it, which was so sweet!

Dr Lee and Dr Kang were both very friendly during my checkups. Especially Dr Lee who really made me feel like he cared about my surgery and recovery, instead of treating me like “just another patient”. I was very thankful for that.

2 weeks post op:

So I am currently 2 weeks post surgery. I know it is still early in my recovery but I here’s my progress so far. You can see that the shape of the nose improved a LOT. To my surprise, I did not have extreme bruising after the surgery. For the first week after surgery, my face was very swollen and yellow due to bruising. I never got black eye though, just yellowness on my face. By week two the swelling has noticeably reduced. The whole de-swelling process was a lot faster than I excepted. My breathing is 50% back to normal now, there is still blockage due to not being allowed to blow my nose and due to the swelling in my nose.

My nose is still very tender to touch, especially the tip. Swelling is worse in the morning so my nose noticeably gets smaller throughout the day, and becomes swollen again the next morning lol. Dr Lee said it will continue to improve as time goes on. The nose is still not 100% straight due to my tilted facial axis, and my alar is still not 100% level, just like they said during the consultation. However there is a pretty good improvement . I'm very impressed with the result so far, there is noticeable changes in the shape of my nose, and it also looks pretty natural as well.

For my eyes, there is also an improvement. I don’t have the puffy eye bags anymore, but my tear trough is still visible. I don’t know if it’s because I didn’t have enough fat from my eye bags to fill my tear trough? I also have some dark pigmentation under my eye that could not have been corrected by surgery. If you are in the same boat and have pigmentation under your eyes, keep in mind that you will need other treatments for that. I will say that with the eye bags gone I do look less tired, and it’s much easier to cover up the tear trough and dark pigmentation with make up.

Overall, my experience at Uvom was great, I appreciated how they were honest in telling me what were realistic changes to be expected, and what changes were out of the question. I’ve never had surgery at any other clinics before so I don’t know how other clinics treat their patients, but with Uvom I felt like I was actually cared for. The surgeons and the staff were friendly, professional and very caring. The two doctors that did my surgery were always smiling every time I saw them. Dr Lee is very meticulous during his check ups, and I never felt rushed throughout the whole process.

Oh, I feel like I need to put a disclaimer here that I don’t work for Uvom in any way, and this post is just my personal experience as their patient. There were a few others who went to Uvom in the February Kakao group chat and from what I heard, they had pretty good experiences too.

Uvom's not heavily marketing to foreigners at this time. During the times I was at the clinic, the waiting room had pretty much all Korean from what I could tell. They also don’t have an English website, but they do have an English blog ( https://uvomps.blogspot.com/ ) and Instagram page ( uvomplasticsurgey ) which you can follow. They often will announce promotions. Uvom is a very humble clinic - it has 1 floor in a building that’s kind of tucked away, unlike some of the other mega clinics I visited, The clinic itself is bright and clean. If you’ve never considered this clinic before, I strongly encourage you to give them a try .

The only information I have found so far on JK is their YouTube channel and Misooda... I think one of their consultants did a video for YouTube and left a review with pics on Misooda, and you can see her in some JK footage for their advertising... Other than that, the only other things that are being said is that JK is pretty safe.

Have you done an online consult with them? When I contacted them, my consultant said that Dr. Park is the surgeon doing my recommendations. I believe he is the head surgeon for Dream.

Hello! I'm considering getting rhinoplasty at the Dream plastic surgery clinic. It seems like a pretty trustful clinic to me, what are your opinions and experiences? It would be extremely helpful for me to get your input on this! Also if you know if they are specifically good at rhinoplasty and/or which doctors you think would be a good choice please let me know. And if you think another clinic would be a better choice, then which one and why? Thank you~

I've read that Dr. Park is really skilled and famous for closed rhinoplasty.

I'd like to find out about this. According to my consultant at Dream, Dr. Park is the one that did my online recommendations for my revision rhinoplasty. One would think that if a specific doctor is doing the recommendations, then he/she is going to be the one to do the work.

Dream is my number one pick at the moment. I've watched a lot of their YouTube videos and their results are beautiful. If you decide to go with them, I don't think it would do any harm to refer their own work and ask which surgeons performed those specific surgeries on that patient. At least, they would have an idea of the type of natural, dramatic results you are looking for... And you already know that they're capable of it.

So true... My sister-in-law had to point out that her real nose is deviated and I never even noticed after 10 years of knowing her. I've been told that "beauty" is measured within mm. So a lot of the details that we notice when we're inches from the mirror, people won't see from three feet away.

Hi everyone. This is my second time posting on purse. The first time I was lurking and researching the best clinics in Korea for rhinoplasty. Unfortunately, I’ve found myself here again.

I had my first ever rhinoplasty done at Item clinic in Korea 2 years ago. I’m not happy with my result. In fact I’m embarrassed that I have been going out and not knowing what I really look like to others. I will post a picture so you can see.

My nose is slanted. And one nostril is higher and in shorter length than the other. It also sticks out too much, i ways bump my nose because I’m not used to how far out it sticks out. My tip is also droopy.. t’s truly a nightmare that I’m unable to afford a revision right now since I’m a college student (my parents paid for my surgery feel like I wasted their money.) In some angles, it does look okay but in real life I think other people can see how lopsided it is. I even hate when people take pictures of me because the phone cameras mirror my face and make it look even more assymetrical. In the pictures I’ll attach where my nose does look normal.

I feel like I made my nose slanted myself. While healing in the hotel in Korea I smiled really big at something funny and I believe it stretched out my nose. I’m really depressed about it and I think about it often these two years.

I’m thinking of GNG and April31, but mostly leaning toward April31. If needed I can elaborate on my experience at Item. Please let me know any advice or anything about April31, and about revision nose jobs..
The photos where I crossed out my eyes with black and purple are where my nose looks lopsided and the other crossed out pictures are where it looks okay. I’m afraid that I always look like the lopsided version of myself.

Well hello there, Sunshine!! I think I speak for a lot of us here on PF who are researching revision surgeries, that we have all been right where you are at. I had my primary rhinoplasty done 19 years ago and it was not done right. My radix is too high, my implant is deviated, and my tip is bulbous... but in my eyes, my results were a vast improvement over my original nose... I know that may not be the case for all of us, but for me it is. I'm not saying that I didn't want a revision over the last 19 years, but like you, I couldn't afford another surgery - especially not a revision in the US. So, I learned to accept that my results weren't perfect - and I worked the face that I had.

Just make sure you really scrutinize the clinics you are considering for your revision. That's what I'm doing. I also check to see if any of my chosen clinics have YouTube channels so I can evaluate their results. Good luck!

So VIP finally got back to me a couple of days ago. She didn't give me a price quote, but Chloe did share some details of the surgery that I'll post here...

By looking at the pictures, you have a deviated structure with a short and bulbous nose. The doctor recommended 100% Rib Cartilage Rhinoplasty. It can build the structure, bridge, and tip while fully using your own tissues.

Rib cartilage #7 will be used. It is the straightest and most sufficient material for full autologous graft rhinoplasty. The doctor would have to incise 3-4 cm underneath the breast line and use and endoscope to harvest the rib cartilage. Not only is it the most safe, but the final result will be permanent and very natural. The incision will be almost invisible after several months of recovery and will not be shown because it will be under the breast line.

The downside is the recovery phase. Rib cartilage is the thickest material for autologous tissue graft rhinoplasty and takes more time to heal. Unlike silicone material where only skin needs time to recover, for a full rib cartilage graft rhinoplasty, both skin and cartilage need time to heal and absorb. Most patients' swelling goes down in two weeks, but the final result has to wait for at least six months to a year. After 2-3 months, patients' nose swelling will go down and the result will start to show better and better.

As your mid-face area is depressed in and your mouth looks protruded relatively, it is important for you to have mid-face augmentation performed along with your rhinoplasty for a better enhancement.

Epicanthoplasty is also possible for the inner corners of your eyes.

Although I really like the results from their B & A's, I won't be going with VIP . I just can't seem to electively bring myself to endure such an invasive surgery to harvest my rib for my nose.

You might want to checkout Shinseung and Dream. Here are some links to threads from other forumers who shared their results. I was really impressed and I'm actually leaning toward Dr. Park at Dream for my revision rhino and eyelid surgeries. I think I read somewhere on here that some clinics give at least 20% off for discounts. Good luck.

I have Dream, JK, JW, and Braun on my list for f2f consults. I think they have really great eye and nose results. Other clinics I considered are Hanabi, VIP, and Dr. Jin - but unfortunately they only do rib cartilage for revision rhinoplasties and it's hard for me to stomach the surgery.

JK's price quote was in the middle for me with all of my clinic choices (6,750,000 KRW). But I do have to say that in back-and-forth emails between me and my consultant (Yoona), I don't think she addressed one of my concerns with the surgeons before telling me that "it would be difficult to make the same nose as your expectation due to your own structure". I felt compelled to respond to her and tell her that I am fully aware that the SAME nose as my expectation is a fool's wish and I only wanted the surgeon's opinion/perspective/recommendation on the matter of making a nose that I think is esthetically pleasing work for me. She responded saying she spoke with the surgeon and the surgeon said what I want is possible, but the price went up to 7,500,000 KRW. But JK is still on my list of f2f consults once I do go to Korea.
