  1. Thank you. I've actually read good things about having eyelid surgery at Eve. I'll check out Dr. Chung and see what he says.

  2. Could anyone give me suggestions for eyelid surgery? I know I would like epicanthoplasty, but the more I research, the more I think I might need DES to support the EPI. I already have double eyelids, so I don't know what can actually be done.

I've narrowed down the clinics I'd like to visit and have f2f consultations with - JK, JW, Braun, and Dream, but this is based on my research for revision rhinoplasty and it is not set in stone. Does anyone have experience with these clinics and their doctors? I would like to have my surgeries done at the same hospital and I thought the B & A's of all of these places were great for both eyes and nose.

  3. I can only speak for myself, but I don't think I swelled up too bad... I do remember the bandage and cast being tight and uncomfortable... and thinking I made the biggest mistake of my life. But I didn't bruise around my eyes, like I have seen in other post-op photos here. I also had a closed surgery, too. - The Dr. went in through my upper lip, so I didn't have a lot of bleeding.

  4. I had my first rhinoplasty done in California. The Dr. used my ear cartilage for my tip and an L-shaped silicone implant for my bridge. Yes, my implant has been deviated pretty much from the start... And I have always thought my radix is too high. - Anyway, it really didn't bother me too much because I thought it was a vast improvement from my original nose. But now that I'm older and my face is changing, I think it's time for a touch up.

  5. Thanks. It would be great to have some more insight with some of these clinics. If anyone wants to hmu, my kakao id is dice7074.

I'm so skeptical about getting an EPI. I've been reading that there is scarring. It just seems like I'd be compromising one problem for another.

  6. OMGoodness!! Are you serious? Well, "Lucy better have some splaining to do!!"

But seriously, after I'm done chatting with Dream tonight, I'm going to review all of the recommendations/quotes I have so far. I want to start cutting down my list, so I know who I want to have f2f consults with.

  7. I contacted Dream last night. I had a pleasant, no fuss chat with the consultant - but he/she didn't give their name (it's alright though). They asked if I could share my concerns, if my primary rhinoplasty was open method, and if I was looking for a dramatic or natural change. I told them everything they wanted to know and then I sent pictures of Karrueche Tran (just love her nose!) and asked if that was considered natural. Then they asked if I could send another picture of me with my nostrils showing, but I didn't have one and I asked if I could send one tomorrow. Even without the last requested picture, this is what they sent back:

Dr. Park Yang Soo recommended revisional rhinoplasty with lower lateral cartilage and septal extension graft.

It costs 7,400,000 KRW before discount.

I didn't ask for medial epicanthoplasty because I'm realizing it's not as much of a concern to me right now. I think I want to narrow down my options for rhino Drs. before pursuing eye Drs. Anyway, I want to continue my conversation with Dream because I don't understand what Dr. Park means by "lower lateral cartilage and septal extension graft". Does anyone have opinions on Dr. Park/Dream?

  8. EXACTLY! Like I said, they may have redeemed themselves with their diagnoses for my nose and eyes, but their initial response of not paying attention to what I stated, is really what threw me for a loop. GNG did not give me a good first impression. - Not being detail oriented is not the best way to land a deal.

  9. OMGoodness! That's so unnerving! Were all of your surgeries done with VIP? I thought rib cartilage was supposed to be better for revisions.

  10. So sorry you're still not happy with your results... If I may ask, what type of corrections were they trying to make? I'm so anxious thinking about what could go wrong with my revision.

Thanks for the link. I'll get in touch with Dream tonight.

  11. My first response from them was a little awkward... I contacted them via their website and CLEARLY STATED my purpose for consultation (revision rhinoplasty & medial epicanthoplasty), concerns (deviated implant & mongolian folds), and prior plastic surgery (primary rhinoplasty 19 years ago). Their response? - They asked me questions that they already had the answers to... I was a little put off that they asked me questions like "if it was my first time getting plastic surgery" or "what my main concern is with my nose", because this was all clearly addressed in my initial statement to them. Well I reiterated my concerns because I just wanted their quote and recommendations, but I rolled my eyes and berated them to my daughter while I was re-typing what they wanted. I wouldn't want the consultant to be my Dr. if he/she wasn't going to pay attention to anything I said...

...But I will say that their final response was pretty thorough and they actually redeemed themselves with what they had to say... even though I won't be going with them.

Hope it helps to know you're not the only one put off by them...

  12. After more research, I contacted JW because I like their B & A's too. This is what they sent me:

Thank you for your information and pictures. Here's the recommendation for you:

    Nose

    • Removal of "L" shape silicone
    • Heighten (replace) the bridge with "I" shape silicone
    • Tip plasty with ear or septum cartilage
    • Bulbous tip correction
We will replace the "L" shape silicone with the "I" shape silicone. For the tip, we will use your own cartilage from ear or septum. Your tip looks a bit bulbous, so we will remove some fat tissue inside and make your nose slimmer.

This surgery will be done under sedation (sleeping) and recovery time in Korea is about 7 days.

About the epicanthoplasty, we can already see much of the red flesh, so we can open just a little bit.

The price for revision rhinoplasty will be about 8,500,000-9,600,000 KRW.
The price for epicanthoplasty will be about 1,650,000-1,900,000 KRW.

*The price includes a variety of services: pick up between the airport and the hotel, interpretation service, hairwash treatment, de-swelling treatment, medication, hospitalization (if needed).

*This plan can differ after face to face consultation with the doctor. And the price can be negotiated after your plan is determined.

*There will be about a 10% tax refund, and if you have multiple surgeries in our clinic, there will be an additional discount.

I had this conversation with Tina via WhatsApp. I sent her a few pictures of what I am thinking I want my nose to look like, and she told me that for one of them, I need an osteotomy for that look. It's a good thing I asked because it wasn't on her list of surgeries for my nose... LOL Geez... I didn't know having the nose of my dreams could come a la carte!!;):coolio:

  13. Hey thanks, Mazikeen! I'm still contacting different clinics. It's funny you mentioned VIP because they still haven't gotten back to me... I've pretty much crossed them off my list. I still haven't looked into Dream as of yet. Is there a link for Dr. Park and his revisions?

  14. I was able to get in contact with Braun last night via WhatsApp. This is what they said -

Based on pictures, we can do revision rhinoplasty + using dermis for tip plasty + may need osteotomy (after take 3d-ct scan), doctor will decide.

    And the price for:

    • rhino revision 7 mil KRW
    • using dermis 1 mil KRW
    • osteotomy 1 mil KRW
    • Total will be 9 mil KRW for basic price
For more exact diagnosis, you need to come and see doctor in person.

I really liked my conversation with the consultant. Her name is Kelly. She asked me how I would like to make my nose. It's funny because I didn't know how to describe what I wanted, so I just sent her pictures of Karrueche Tran! I didn't even know if it was possible for my face, but she came back with a response from the Dr. and she said they can do it. It was so exciting!

... I'm still waiting on VIP...

  15. That's good to know about the photos - Thank you. I wouldn't really know how to describe what I want without showing a picture. I don't want my nose too high, or too low, or too long - but then I don't want it flat, either. LOL

My L-silicone has been deviated basically since the beginning - 19 years ago. It didn't bother me so much at first because I thought it was an improvement from what it was. But now I'm older and my face is changing and I think it's starting to show more. Hopefully this will be my last... Oh, and my tip is bulbous, too!

  16. Hanabi finally reached out to me...

    Thank you for online consultation.

I am Dr Chang from Hanabi rhinoplasty clinic, Seoul, Korea. I checked your photos.

You have bulbous nasal tip, wide alar base, tip drooping, and your nose(implant) looks deviated to left side. I think you had rhinoplasty using silicone many years ago.

I recommend tip narrowing, tip projection, alar reduction, and correction of deviation. I normally use septal/ear cartilage for tip surgery, and implant for bridge augmentation. If you don't want artificial implant, you can have rhinoplasty with rib cartilage for both of tip and bridge. But I recommend rib cartilage more for your case.

Although they didn't provide me with a quote, I'm glad it was Dr. Chang who looked at my photos and gave me his recommendations.

From what I've read on this forum, a vast majority of Drs. prefer rib cartilage for revision cases. But to be honest, I can't stomach the thought of such an invasive surgery if there are other alternatives... Has anyone had a revision rhino with septal/ear/implant that they're happy with?

    - And I'm still waiting for VIP and Braun to get back to me. I'm holding off on submitting an inquiry to Dr. Jin because I've read that he only does rib for his revision cases. If anyone can counter, please advise...

  17. Liv, when you say, "bring photos", do you mean, like photos of celebrities? Because that's what I want to do. I just didn't know if the Dr.'s would think/say that it's unrealistic for me think that I could have a nose like this person or that person.

  18. I hear you on your fear of the clinic letting you down. I'm planning my revision and I just want a nice nose that fits my face/facial features. When I had my first rhinoplasty, all I wanted was a bridge because my nose was so flat. Well, my first rhino wasn't anywhere close to perfect - my implant deviated years ago and it's time I get a new one. I'm looking into Korean PS because I want a Dr. experienced in revision rhinoplasty for Asian noses. My problem is, I want to stay as true to my ethnicity as possible. I'm scrutinizing all of the B & A's because I don't want my nose to look "done". I know that's a popular esthetic here, and although I find it pretty, it's not for me... So I'm scouring the different clinics and stressing myself out until I find the perfect one.

  19. Hey... thanks for the link! I really like their before & afters. They seem genuine. Sometimes when I look at B & A's from different websites, the photos either look photoshopped or the noses look snatched and the faces look contoured & highlighted. I don't think the patients should be wearing a lot of makeup in the after shots. It's really frustrating because I want a really natural look for myself and I didn't notice this until after I submitted my photos to some clinics.
