Just wanted to update this in case to help anyone else out.
It's post op day 5 for me now since right side zygoma and both sides buccal fat removal. 70-80% of the swelling is gone, but I am still swollen (like I have the alcoholic frat guy look going on right now). I still can't completely open my mouth beyond like 7cm or so or it hurts my left cheek. My left cheek feels a bit tender in the incision spot. I just hopped on the plane and flew back to home. While on the plane, I guess it was the ear popping thing, but my zygoma area started to hurt! It would hurt more when I clenched my jaws. I was a little scared, but it went away after the plane landed. I guess the ear popping thing screws with your sinus which then screws with your zygoma arch or something. Whatever it is, I'm grateful its over.
Will put out more updates in the course of few weeks or so. The results are not apparent. It's like looking at an egg that's hatching. I can see the beak and the feathers, but not too convinced just yet.
@katrinawhy: Woah..Not sure about jaw stuff, but yeah it was hard for me to eat solid foods. Its getting better though, but not entirely there yet. My mouth wasn't wired shut...that actually sounds dangerous. But I'm just concerned about swelling and when it would all go away.
I was looking through Korean clinics, but eventually I decided to get them done in the States where I am from. The doctor was Charles S Lee in Beverly Hills. Are you aware of the recovery process?
Ok, I just had it done. I added in buccal fat removal as well. Its day 1 after surgery. I'm so tired and my body is aching all over (why?? from anesthesia I think...), but I survived. My face is swollen though.
@MissOrange : Hey I'm actually having it done locally in my country. I'm on these forums for another cosmetic surgery(Which I would travel to SKorea for). But I wanted to ask about Zygoma(the procedure that I will have in my home country) here to see what people's thoughts on it were.
My right side is more imbalanced. I like my left side of cheek. Its why I'm getting it customized.
I'm getting it done on the right side of my face (so only one side). It sounds/looks scary. I'm scared. My procedure is the day after tomorrow. Has anyone had it? Is the recovery painful? I just don't wanna die or end up with a collapsed face or something :'(
@Sarahdomm OMG You're alive and looks like nothing crazy like a nose removal or any complication happened. This is good so far right? Happy to see you survived.
I'm really interested with this clinic, but I don't see many reviews on it. Though there were a couple of Korean youtube videos that I really liked where the surgeon performs his technique on a skull model. http://eng.headsculptor.co.kr/
1) Does anyone here know anything about Jogak?
2) What are some tests that I could do to find out if a clinic is legit or not?
3) Is it normal for clinics not be as popular in the grapevine/forums and still be a good clinic?
How do I search on it? I'm having difficulty with searching since I don't speak Korean. Apparently Google translate isn't as easy as I thought to use in this situation
Why is it hard to find info/reviews online about this surgery? I literally can't find a single legit positive or negative reviews on this.
If anyone knows even a Korean forum that has reviews, I'll even use Google translate to understand it. It would be so helpful anyone has a link to such reviews...
I'll look at Banobagi. I found out that JJ Hong does it too. Are they any good? It just feels weird that there aren't any solid before and afters.
Like I don't know a single person that had it done. Or people don't even talk about it anywhere. The 2 American doctors that do it are pushing for implants.
A lot of Korean clinics don't even have it listed in their websites.
Also, ITEM's skull shaping Youtube video got some sizable dislikes and one of the comments was from a girl that claimed to have had it done at ITEM. She wasn't too happy with the results saying it barely did anything to fix the issue.
I've contacted ITEM and they say its a fairly popular surgery in Korea. They do 10-15 back of head bone cement additions a month. Does this sound accurate?
Hey guys, I wanted to bump this thread up. I'm really desperate for this. Anyone with a slight idea on this surgery in Korea would help a million. Thanks in advance!!
Hey, you are right, but on a ratio wise, I think he has a lot more positive reviews. He did admit to me that he's not too comfortable with Asian noses...I guess I lucked out because I'm Indian, which is technically Asian but also not really loool
Anyway, I'm super happy with the results. I love my nose now.
Hey guys, I wanted to know more about skull reshaping as I have a mild case of plagiocephaly. I'm an American, so naturally, I looked at options here in the USA. it looks like only 3 doctors here in America can address this issue of fixing uneven heads.
1) Eppley: I don't trust him due to the sheer amount of negative reviews. Quotes at $13,000 for a sillicone implant
2) Tahiri: Says i'll have a scar from ear to ear over my head (yikes!) for implant. Quotes me at $15,000.
3) Deschamps-Braly: Any head surgery from him starts at $13,000 to $25,000
So I am not too happy with these options. Also, there's a lack of before and after pics, and general reviews about this surgery. I'm turning to Korea.
1) What are my options in Korea? The only thing I've seen is ITEM clinic's osteobond treatment with Dr Chung Woo Jin which is reasonably priced. How good are his results?
2) Are people generally happy with osteobond results-wise? Doctors in America (Eppley and Tahiri) claim it is imprecise and may not be symmetrical. That is what I'm really concerned of. Is it possible to get a reasonable result?
3) Any Korean clinics that are better than ITEM with a proven record?
4) Is this a common procedure in Korea?
Where?? He's got so many positive reviews on Realself like 300 or something and averages to a 4.5/5. He's got so many positive reviews on Yelp as well. Its very impressive. And he has a massive book that he leaves in the waiting room full of about 100+ rhino before and after pics that he's done. I can't comment on his ability on thick Asian noses though.
Eppley doesn't have a good standing here in America. He caused a woman to commit suicide after screwing up her facelift. And he's gotten a lot of complaints. And he was insane enough to perform rib removal surgery.
Anyway, doesn't Dr Chung Woo Jin do this procedure in ITEM? Anyone know how good he is?
