  1. Hi! I too think it’s too early to tell for sure, but from what I can see so far, it looks good. You’ve got some good height with the bridge and tip more defined too.

It would help out a lot (both for you to see progress and us to give our feedback) if you posted the same angle shots before and after: front view, 45 degree turn, and 90 degree turn side profile.

What clinic or hospital did you go to?

  3. Hi dollhouse. Thanks for coming back to update us on your results. What did ITEM say when you contacted them about your crooked implant, etc.?

  4. From the conversation you posted and the mention of breach of contract, it sounds like there may be confidentiality obligations in place or specific dispute resolution terms and conditions in your agreement.

If I had a client currently in negotiations like this arbitration, mediation, or a settlement, I would tell them not to talk about the negotiations until it is all settled. I understand it’s hard in the moment, but there are a lot of laws (in the US at least, I’m not sure on Korean law) that pertain to this, and talking about the confidential details in public during this process can hinder a claimant a lot and even render some settlement prizes unenforceable.

I hope you and gng can work out a solution. Good luck!

  5. In Korea, male plastic surgery is a lot more common and acceptable than in the US. I think you’ll be fine continuing to research clinics you like in general for your surgery as most will have more experience in male rhinoplasty than it seems.

Seek out the clinics that are good with rhino. Then you can ask them more specifically during consults about male features. If you’d like, you can do some research ahead of time on male rhino so that you can bring good questions and gauge each doctor’s expertise and compatibility with your desires.

Here are some male rhinoplasty info pages from a few clinics:

  6. The simple & possibly unpopular answer is: don’t worry about it. Being concerned about “fake reviews” can easily lead to paranoia and your research more difficult. I’m thankful this forum has not turned into a witch hunt for promotional reviews, but sometimes it seems it could go that way. I came to tpf to read first hand experiences from prior patients. If patients don’t feel comfortable writing reviews here due to backlash from getting a discount, the forum loses a lot of value.

As a clinic hits a wave of popularity, both positive and negative experiences come up. Neither one are guarantees an individual’s own experience will be positive/negative, and the existence of bad experiences doesn’t mean the positive ones are lies.

The posts here should be treated like any other business review on Yelp, Google, etc. People use them as a one part in a holistic research process. No reasonable person is basing surgery decisions on a couple reviews alone, so I see no harm in posts from patients who received discounts.

And by the way, not everyone who has a picture in a gallery or clinic website is “sponsored” to write reviews. Granting a license to use photos, posting an online business review, etc are not conclusive of that. Some people just really do vlog/blog everything, or love to share their opinion. When I got my surgery years ago, I ok’ed the posting of my photos as I didn’t care about it. Recently I didn’t feel comfortable with it anymore and asked the clinic to take it down, which they did.

  7. I was also had complications after my primary rhino (not at GNG, I went to a doctor in the States). I went through all the trouble of surgery and ended up having severe breathing problems that get worse every year. It’s definitely upsetting, but I’m hopeful for a good revision to fix it.

@p.joann14 I hope you feel better and can look forward to a revision or other solution in the future. If you’re comfortable with it, could you share some more photos, like 45 degree and side?

@digitalashes I would also love to hear more about your revision process, as I’m planning to do my revision later this year. Your story would be a big help.

  8. Yes, I’m southeast asian. I chose him because he had a large amount of positive reviews on Real Self, and he demonstrated good general knowledge about the nose’s anatomy. It was my first surgery and I was very impulsive and easily impressed too.

LOL. You are spot on with the experience of being wheeled out while high as a kite. I didn’t even know such diverse aftercare options existed until after I started researching Korean clinics.

  9. I’m a lawyer in US law, so I’m not sure about Korean law, but generally speaking, the only times I can see a strong legal claim against a person writing honest reviews about a plastic surgery clinic is when (1) you signed an NDA and then released information that was confidential (breach of contract) or (2) you are stating false facts about the business and it hurts their reputation (libel). There maybe more obscure causes, but I don’t see an issue with stating a name in a review otherwise.

  10. Hi @kayart0803 I went with a US doctor for rhinnoplasty and, unfortunately, I only have a bad experience to share. I had primary rhino with Dr Sajjadian in California. He does have a good gallery of work generally but there was no Asian B&As, that was my mistake for choosing someone with limited Asian clientele. Aftercare was nonexistent, surgery was expensive and difficult (I was rushed out of the clinic still vomiting, barely conscious, and bleeding from my head), and post-op the changes were minimal. To make matters worse, 5 years later, my nose is now “severely deviated” (says all the ent doctors I’ve consulted with), my breathing is worst than before, and the tip has lost its shape, becoming droopy and wide as before surgery.

If you were do it in the US, my advice would be that you make sure you see A LOT of b&a photos representing your ethnic group by that doctor, at least a dozen, because skill with one group of noses does not equal skill with another group. Also keep in mind the aftercare and professionalism will not be as client-centric as you’d find in Asia.

I too would like to hear from you, @naturallook , about why you didn’t like your GNG work! They are a hospital I’m considering for my revision.

  11. Hi @Dahlia Acacia ! Thanks for the review and the photos! Your review convinced me to put DA on my consult list. I have functional complications with my nose as well, and I want to look into the same doctor who did your nose.

I don’t see a Dr Choi Hang Seok on DA’s website. There’s a Choi Min Seok at DA, and Choi Hang Seok at JK though. Do you know if your doctor is still there at DA, or could you double check on his name?

  12. This is a good question - though many do, some clinics don’t provide facial or hair aftercare. At least one clinic on my list doesn’t and it’s a problem unless I can find good aftercare treatment elsewhere.

From my online research, Spa de Heritz (at Foreheal Hotel) offers oxygen and aqua bed treatment specifically for post surgery recovery.

I’m also thinking of asking other plastic surgery clinics if they offer skincare services ala carte. I know Grace Clinic and Banobagi do, so maybe they can sell a standalone post surgery option as well.

  13. Thank you @AshleyLovesYou ! Your experience was very helpful. Wow, a 2-3 hour consultation exceeded what I thought was possible. I’ll keep all this mind when scheduling my visits.

  14. Hi all, I'm looking for advice on scheduling my consultations with clinics in Korea when I go to Seoul for 3 weeks later this year. For those of you who have done consultations already:

How long does each consultation last?
What's a good amount of time to allot for traveling between two clinics?
How many consultations can one reasonably fit into a full day?

Please assume I'm only consulting with clinics in the Gangnam area. I'll probably be using the metro. I worked in Seoul one summer, so I feel comfortable taking public transit everywhere, but I want to give myself enough buffer time in case of complications.

  15. In my online consultations so far, I have been saving and showing my favorite cases from the clinic’s before and after galleries. This is probably helpful because these pics are usually taken from the traditional angles a doctor needs to see, and it won’t have as much heavy photoshopping (well, sometimes) as a celebrity’s photos.

You can also take your own photo and alter it using a photo editor mobile app. I have Facetune 2 and there are a ton of options to morph any part of your facial features, nose included.
