The clinics I’ve had consultations with.

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

Though I’ve had an account on Purse Forum since 2017, this is the first post I have created. I don’t go on here too often, but I do come on here sporadically and comment on other people’s posts sometimes. Here is a list of clinics that I’ve had a consultation with (either by email, Kakao, or Wechat). Plus, my vibes from them.

Note: I have never had plastic surgery before. I have a short receding chin. My nose is not big at all, but I feel that the bridge could be a little more refined (I don’t want a dramatic or Barbie nose).

GNG, in March 2018

Rhinoplasty costs 4,500,000 won (This price doesn't include V.A.T. 10%)
Genioplasty costs 5.5 million won (This price doesn't include V.A.T. 10%)
Chin Implant costs 2.8 million won (This price doesn't include V.A.T. 10%)

Vibes: My intuition said no and I’m happy that I didn’t keep them on my list.

VIP, in November 2018

100% Rib Cartilage Rhinoplasty costs $11,000
Midface Augmentation (Rib Cartilage) costs $3,000
Genioplasty costs $6,000

Vibes: Overall okay, and I think that getting a Rib Cartilage is a good investment in the long run but it's too expensive. I’m sure some of you guys had seen me commenting on other people’s posts about VIP. They are technically still on my list, but I probably won’t pick them.

View, in January 2019

Rhinoplasty and Lateral Osteotomy costs 7 million won
Sliding Genioplasty costs 6 million won

Vibes: They were okay, I didn’t sense anything bad with them. They’re still on my list.

Namu, in October 2019

Rhinoplasty costs 5 million won.
Chin Implant costs 2 million won
Plus 10-30% discount can be discussed during face-to-face consultation. Depending on multiple procedures, photo consent, etc.

Vibes: Generally okay, but I’m shocked how great their prices are and they are the first clinic to offer me a discount. I can afford to book them and do the surgery with them next week if I wanted to. It’s weird because I feel that I should be happy about the prices, but I feel blue. Maybe because I feel that nothing good ever happens to me in my life … and when something does go right, it doesn’t last very long. I don’t know … it’s sad that I feel this way but it’s true. It’s hard for me to articulate this in a way that makes more sense. Ultimately, these feelings have everything to do with how I feel about myself.

Final verdict: I might go with Namu, however … I just wish that there were more reviews from them. So maybe I’ll wait a little longer to see. Picking a plastic surgery clinic is so stressful!

I’m open to feedback, suggestions, recommendations, etc.

Thanks for reading!

The prices for rhinoplasty seem high for just wanting to define your bridge. Is that all they are suggesting for that price?? Also, I had a doctor recommend rib cartilage and was intrigued. However, it was my first consultation and the other 4 recommended not to do rib since it will make your nose feel hard. I also have thin skin so they said it would be quite obvious to others.

I was actually thinking the same thing too. However, I think that it cost more for me because I am a foreigner.

I'm still looking around for clinics, just in case. I recently had a Kakao consultation with Nana Plastic surgery; they quoted me 5.5 million won for Bridge and Tip plus Osteotomy (but the price can go down to 4.4 million won if I comply with the terms & conditions). I was quoted 4 million won for Chin implants (but can go down to 3 million won with T&C as well).

I had contacted Hyundai Aesthetics and Uvom, but I have not heard back from them. It's been a week, and I even did a follow-up message after 3 days and still nothing. I guess they are not interested in me.

DA Plastic Surgery straight up told me yesterday that I have to go to their clinic to get a consultation. I'm not sure why they couldn't just give me estimates on Kakao.

As for rib cartilage, I've recently dug up an old post on PF that talked about the cons of doing rib. And like you, I have thin skin too. Here's the link:

I honestly think it's better to do face to face consultation. If possible, contact the hospital for consultation and make sure to ask if surgery would be possible same day or next. Doing the CT helps the surgeon give you a better consultation in my opinion. That as well as having the doctor being able to touch the area. I never had consultations for chin so I can't give any advice on that... As for rib cartilage, yes, I'm staying away from that. Only Braun recommended that to me, and said it was the best chance I had to not have it tilt. The other surgeons told me this is BS.

Thanks for the tip! I will ask clinics if they do the same day or next day surgeries. I don't live in South Korea, so that's why I've been doing Kakao consultations. I just want everything done with one flight instead of multiple flights.

It's so unethical when surgeons suggest things that aren't needed. Braun? I heard mix reviews about the place anyway. I just did further research on rib cartilage and it seems to be a choice to use when the nose has collapsed from major trauma or from septal deterioration from a variety of causes. So yes, the other surgeons are right, it is BS! (Unless your nose is severely damaged.) For the past few years, I really thought that rib cartilage was necessary for a good quality rhinoplasty ... regardless of the circumstances, which is clearly untrue.

It's not damaged. The silicone has just leaned completely to one side... Plus he wanted to use a donor's which kinda unsettled me. Most definitely try to do it in one flight! Schedule all consultations in one day, maybe 2 hours apart. Get a good feel for the place, staff, and surgeon. Then surgery next day!

You know what? I heard of ATOP but forgot all about contacting them. I will add and message them on Kakao. Thank you!

That's terrible what happened to your nose!
I'm really iffy about using a donor as well. I would rather it come from me and not someone else.

Thanks for sharing, and hooray for your first post! I totally feel ya.. picking a surgeon is so stressful! I have had a similar experience with UVOM and Hyundai so far... they are sooo slow to reply, and it's like pulling teeth to try to get answers.
Too bad, because i like some of the before/afters a lot, but it makes me worry a lot about aftercare if they are already this unresponsive before. (For instance, what if something went wrong or you have a question for the clinic about aftercare, and they never reply ^^;)

Have you thought about consulting with DA, Banobagi, Opera, Migo? Those are on my list, as well.

May I also ask which doctor did you consult with at nose for View? It looks like they have 2 main nose specialists now, and I'm trying to decide which one to consult with. Any info or thoughts you have would be appreciated!

Honestly, I was thinking the same thing ... if they're slow to respond, who knows how they are during aftercare. I have moved on from Hyundai and Uvom. Even if they finally decide to write back, I won't respond.

I actually tried DA, but they told me that I need to go in person. I haven't tried Banobagi, Opera, or Migo yet. I might look into them as well just in case, especially Opera and Migo. Thank you!

For View, I did not consult with any of the doctors. It was a guy named Henry, I'm assuming one of their translators. Henry seemed fairly knowledgeable and he didn't try to up-sale me on things I didn't need, which is good. I feel bad for not being much help to you, but I'm being honest about my experience with them.
Overall, I keep hearing that View is a "safe" clinic. They are not my first choice though, primarily because I feel that they are overcharging me for the procedures that I want.

No worries!

I’m interested in DA too but nervous since I came across an old thread that mentioned someone may have died at DA and another Thai patient found surgical gauze left in her stomach by the surgeon and sued. I am not sure how true these are though I think there are news videos on it (in Thai)....have you heard anything about that? Wonder if it is true.

which doctors are you considering at DA when you reached out to them?

my advice would be to be sure to choose the doctor not just the clinic...or you could be assigned someone who doesn’t really specialize in your area or a rookie. The big clinics have tons of doctors that work on a lot of areas, so make sure you figure out who you want and see if you can get a sense of each one’s style

I saw Nana mentioned on here, too, and Itve been curious about them. I haven’t seen much about them here, though. If anyone consults Or has any info , pics from before/ after research online or anything to share about them, that would be awesome.

good luck with consults, and let’s all continue to share info!

OMG?!?!?!? I have never heard anything like that happening at DA. I'm actually in shock right now, wow. I hope it's not true .... but ... if it was on the news then there must be some truth to it, right?

Well, I was considering Dr. Lee at DA, but I definitely wanted to talk to more than one doctor to get a feel, etc. I'm probably not going to go in for a consultation with them. Honestly, this was before you had told me about the horror stories. But now, I can't help but think that maybe it was a sign not to go with them since I wasn't even able to get estimates on Kakao from them. Which doctor are you interested in at DA?

You're definitely right! Sigh, but this is why big clinics are so complicated!!!! It's such a headache! I'm thinking about just leaning towards a small clinic or a clinic that had a good reputation with Koreans but is not well known to foreigners. I don't know, I feel like that would be much better. I just need to hunt for one.

I've had a consultation with Nana. I spoke to someone named Kylie, she is such a sweetheart!!!! Hands down, the nicest person I had spoken to as far as dealing with plastic surgery consultations. I feel that their prices are not too bad; they're not cheap but not expensive either. I think that you should reach out to them, it's worth talking to them in my opinion.
Also, I private message someone who said they went to NANA for their surgery, but she hasn't written back to me because she hasn't been on PF lately. Not trying to call her out or anything in that nature. I'm just hoping that this person is okay.

Also, good luck with searching for clinics as well! Please keep me updated and I will keep you updated on my final decision.

Hi! This is the thread where I saw the mention of the accidents with DA: https://beautyhacker.com/forums/topic/952548-my-personal-experience-da-clinic-daprs/page-3
scroll down to the post by tiffanyfah and start reading from there
and https://beautyhacker.com/forums/topic/952548-my-personal-experience-da-clinic-daprs/page-4
I think there's some confusion about whether it was at DA or not, though, as you can see from the thread. I don't understand Thai, though, so many someone who does can help us out

I wanted to do my nose with Dr Lee Dong Chan (formerly at View, now at DA) but was told by DA that he no longer does noses. I am considering revision rhino with either Dr. Ahn or Dr Kim Joo Youn at DA, but I have only heard of Dr Ahn. I may also consuilt with Dr Cho for eyes (that's just who the consultant online recommended... no idea if Dr Cho is good. Have you heard anything?) , Dr Ahn or Dr Lee Dong Chan for double jaw / facial contouring (not sure which is good). and TBD not sure which doctor for lower face and under chin fat / skin removal without cutting bone if facial contouring / double jaw is not necessary.

Which doctor Lee are you considering at DA? Is it Dr Lee Dong Chan? I wonder if the person I corresponded with on Kakao from their clinic is misinformed about him no longer doing noses if you were able to get a nose consult with him! I read good things about Dr Lee Dong Chan here, but I'm sad that I was told he no longer does noses... wonder if that's correct or not, though.

Maybe I will contact Nana, too.
Which doctors are you considering at Nana?

Hi,
I've also consulted with View, Hyundai UVOM and DA.
I've also watched this Korean famous youtuber, he had his eyes and nose done at DA, and his result were very nice, that's why I'm interested in DA but the quote they gave me were very high so I don't think I will go there.
When are you planning to go Korea?
