I lost over a 120 pounds and unfortunately because of my age and genetics, I have a lot of loose skin on my stomach. I was looking into doctors locally but I can't afford to have this done here. It is just too expensive. I heard Korea has better pricing. Can someone give me an idea of how much this surgery would cost in total (including flights and average hotel stay)?

I have no experience personally with this surgery or going to Korea. I am still in the planning phases myself.

I have seen flights as low as $400 to Seoul which is the main city hub for plastic surgery in Korea. The average cost for hotels appears to be $40 per night. So between the hotel (assuming you stay 2 weeks) and get cheap flights, you are looking at around $1000 for that plus surgery cost.

Speak with Doctor Kwon Soon-Hong at the JK Plastic Surgery Center. He specializes in tummy work and while I was there, I saw some of his work and was floored. They could probably give you quotes and suggestions without going there in person to help you decide.

The average cost is $6k to $12k depending on how much work is needed. The cost can go as high as $20k but be as low as $3k.

So I would plan for something around $8k if you are trying to plan a budget.

So $1000 for hotel and flights, and $8,000 for the surgery. I'll probably want at least $1000 for shopping/food so I guess planning on $10,000 would be ideal?

Thanks for the information!!

Yes. Just to be safe, make sure you have extra. The surgery could cost more though so keep that in mind. You can get a clearer cost and budget by speaking with a clinic and doctor for the structure of your stomach and what you want done.

If you are concerned about costs, you can do a breakdown of the average vacation cost for the region and then add on the surgery costs to that.

You could also look into getting a credit card to bring with you as a back-up. I have done this when traveling.

Yeah $8k on the low end as I mentioned. I think $10k is a good minimum but also

This is a very good tip if you can manage it. It is always good to have backup even if you do not need it.

I didn't think of getting a credit card in case it is needed, that is a good idea. I will look into it.

I'll have to do some math and get a general idea of costs by contacting different clinics. Thanks everyone! 😄
