Wow, in fairness with Dr. Lansangan, I think he did a pretty amazing job on your nose:biggrin:

For small imperfections, Dr. Toriumi recommends microdroplets injection of Aldatosil while Dr. Jung performs camouflage surgery using gore-tex cuttings

The best person who can help you address your concerns would be your previous surgeon. Have you tried going back to him?

I can't name my surgeon, unless you contact me directly. The plastic surgeons in the US often check forums like this. If you are seen to be questioning their work at all, they are known to cut off your aftercare. For me that would be awful, since I'm overseas and only rely on email communication with post-op. He could ignore me very easily. It's happened to other patients who doubted his work online....he just refused to deal with them anymore. TRUE!

But, I can tell you that I researched for ages. I chose a rhino specialist who does a lot of grafting work. He's good with all types of noses.

I'm not from an Asian background, however, my primary rhino surgeon left me extremely scooped out, with a partial collapse, plus I had a wide frontal view that was washed out. He basically created an unstable, low profile, Asian looking nose (which didn't suit my Irish/French heritage and facial features. It was too extreme. All of a sudden, I look adopted and didn't match anyone in my family).

So my rib grafting was to add support to my nose again and to build up the bridge, therefore fixing the washed out and overly scooped look.

I just hope the height settles. It needs to come down 20% to be acceptable. Too high right now! I'm still only a few weeks post-op. Plus, REVISION RHINO DOES TAKE LONGER FOR SWELLING TO SUBSIDE.

Still not sold on rib graft look though. It feels so unatural in my nose. Wish I had ear graft instead maybe.

From what I can see on the net, Dr Sam Lam in Texas does beautiful and natural Asian noses. He never builds too high! It's his number one rule!
He does not use rib for Asian noses either. I happen to agree with this, since I think rib CAN be too high, too stiff and not natural for an Asian background nose.

Hope that helps....

thanks so much for the info. can you email me and tell me who your surgeon is? i'd greatly appreciate it. my emails [email protected]

that's pretty crazy that if your surgeon sees you posting negative comments he'll cut you off!! i've actually heard of a few doctors who make their patients sign waivers that they will not speak negatively about them on the internet post surgery. if i went to a doctor who did that, i might run...

i think rib does take a while to settle... i've read some websites of chinese doctors who use rib grafting, and they say it takes up to a year to see the final results because the rib graft does resorb.

does the rib graft look unnatural only because it is too high? or is it the implant itself that looks unnatural? i think you should definitely give it more time though, as you are still very early post op.

Looking good!
So what exactly did you have done? just eyes, nose and chin?
What kind of mouth restrictions are there from the chin implant. I don't seem to have any but I only had a medium sized implant to slightly elongate my face and also for some projection.

Has anyone had a nose job done by Dr. Anil Shah? I heard his prices were reasonable and he's also supposedly very good. I did consider Touriumi but his prices are sky high and there are horror stories about him.

I had a primary rhino done over 3 years ago and now it's harder for me to breath and my nose looks even uglier and less defined than it did pre-surgery. I was naive and didn't do enough research. I thought I would just learn to live with it but it's become harder and harder for me to breathe and I'm constantly depressed because of it.

I've also heard that Dr. Jung in Korea is very good and I will be moving to Korea soon. Does anyone have any info on him and does he speak English?

Please help!

To answer your question CottonCandy77, yes, sorry but if they break your nasal bones, or perform any sort of grafting, you will have OBVIOUS swelling at 1 week and 2 weeks post-op. You will look like you've been in a fight.

I have terrible swelling......I look like an idiot. I'm currently 1 month post-op after revision rhinoplasty with rib grafting.

With my first nose job 4 years ago, I got married 1 month after surgery. I still had swelling, but as able to conceal it with contour make-up. With this recent rhino, I can't hide......the swelling is BAD !!!!!

Be prepared for WEEKS of swelling. Sorry, but it can take months!

Wish I had a better response. I know it sounds unpleasant.
