I copied the below from a post jas3n made 4 years ago. Its exactly my consult experience. Dr park is either extremely pensive or very confident he does exude competency. I didn't pay a consult fee and my surgery was going to be 3.5 mil before I got lipo which doubled it.

Unlike the other clinics id been to the place appeared just average at first. The layout was its worst trait. it seemed like bad feng shui. there was some bad flourescent lighting, the entrance was a narrow passageway blocked on one side by a blank white wall, leading to a feeling that 'space' was lacking. though as the ceilings were probably twice as high as that of dr jungs it looked nowhere near as cluttered as that place. overall, the scheme was a bit spartan though clean and modern.
When i think back on it, the appearance was like that of a GPs medical centre rather than a plastic surgery clinic (GP = general practitioner -the name us aussies call a normal unspecialised doctor).

it was also quite busy like some medical centres can be. about 15 people or more were waiting in the waiting room alone (at around 6pm). the 3 receptionists were all busy too, and i felt they were also rather unwelcoming, as they let us wait at the front desk for a minute or two without any acknowlegement of us at all. they also spoke minimal english (3/10). so far first impressions of the place werent all that great. but the clinic must've been doing something right to have so many patients.

that day i had an initial meeting with an english speaking 'counselor' of the clinic. her name was Sun Kyoung Kim and her role was to basically screen patients first so patients could discuss what they wanted to get done, if it was possible or not and so they could refer me to the right specialist. i presume this meeting was also so i didnt waste the surgeons time later on.

i was referred to Dr Park, who you can see on this page:µå¸²¼ºÇü¿Ü°ú
on wednesday i went in for my consultation. wait time was about 10mins and UNLIKE other clinics, this consultation would cost W5000 (about the price of a pricier coffee...coffee aint cheap here thats for sure)..fair enough
if he did a good job

Dr Park according to the website was extremely well qualified, and as he assured me in perfectly good english (9/10 or better!!!!) he had done lots of noses -its his speciality it seems (he does 4-5 a day, and has done abt 10000 of them)! Now, this guy was probably the best surgeon i'd come across in terms of qualifications:
med degree and board certified from Seoul national university hospital which i belive is the highest ranked uni here
the hospital he is affiliated with -seoul hospital is great
hes done quite a bit of teaching: clinical prof at Seoul National University Hospital among others
he also has certifications from very good cosmetic surgery associations in korea, japan and the US!!
I saw these certificates myself and photos are in my phone. (Does anyone know how i can extract them to my comp???)
the clinic: Dream Medical Group is affiliated with Samsung Medical Center apparently. Given that samsung is one of the biggest conglomerates here, i think the medical facilities/services must be highly rated. Samsung wouldnt lend their sponsorship to a second rate clinic for PR-reasons.

Like all clinics & Doctors, Dr Park and dreamclinic do however have their faults which ill talk about later...on with my consultation first though.
Basically, the consultation started off similar to the others: 'so what would you like done to your nose?'
i said the usual: narrow, heighten adn define alar; straighten septum, reduce dorsum, columella
his solutions if i can remember correclty: 'umbrella' procedure to heighten, narrow alar (its hard to explain), osteotomy, reducing septum cartilage.. reduction of nostril width (alar base resection?) would be via open rhino if i chose to do it (thats currently the most effective method if your nose is wide). altogether ~1.5hrs.
We went through discussion of recovery and options as well with pretty much the same answers as other places -1mth b4 swelling generally subsided etc etc.
basically, the essential thing that set him apart was his eloquence in english, his less selling of his services/results and him taking the time to explain what the techniques would mean -e.g. incisions where, stiches where etc, potential scarring.
thats what i liked. him talking about the negatives where others wouldnt. whereas the other surgeons id seen before had all said the open method would leave a basically unnoticeable scar, but this guy was making no such promises. unfortunately this meant he was a bit deadpan and serious at times, not as much of a smiling character as Dr Jung or the guy i saw at Clinic 9. However, when the consultation ended, i had an excellent overall impression of the doctor that was marred by only one or two things:

-he didnt use before and after photos. during the visit he claimed he didnt have any on his computer and they were on the counselors computer. but when i saw the counselor she claimed she could not show me any. Im not sure why, misunderstanding doesnt come into it as im certain she understood what i was after b/c i repeated myself 3x...maybe she simply just couldnt be bothered :s

-the busyness of the clinic could be a bad thing. halfway through my consultation a receptionist came into the room and gave the doc the next patients file. he also does taxing surgery all the time. if the doctors are overworked, this increases chances of risks/errors for the patient.

BTW surgery here would cost me 4 million won all inclusive. with a 10% discount possible b/c my mum would be doing a skin treatment upstairs. We didnt try to bargain or anything, but it seems 10% off seems a normal discount.
Dreamclinic gets a 8.5/10 from me.
Hopefully i said everything relevant there. if theres any questions, PM me or put it on the forum.

hey i think getting a genioplasty is a vary big procedure too. i was thinking of getting it to make my chin shorter from the front view of my face, while pushing it forward because getting a rhinoplasty would make my chin look even more receded. but i think ill just be going with a chin implant. why dont u juss get a chin implant? it is a less of a painful procedure, and produces immediate and dramatic results.

Hey angleplane,

my parents actually said I looked better which was surprising. They even said my nose isnt that bad, which i find hard to believe since it is so swollen.

Btw, how are you feeling about your nose? I think your nose looks great..

Just some suggestions for you guys who haven't had consultations yet -

a few points you may want to discuss:

1. radix (ie, low, high, amt of mm. raised)
2. starting point for the bridge
3. bridge (ie, low? high? curved? straight?)
4. tip (ie, thick, thin, pointy)
5. columella (ie, natural, projected, etc)
6. alars (ie, leave it alone or bring it in)
7. what kind of nose you definitely do not want (ie, pinched)
8. nostrils (ie, the shape)

Hi guys,

I am at 1 month post-op and I would like to give a heads up to the people considering Zygoma reduction.. not sure if past posts mentioned this but my head is still freakin massive! There were the 3 of us girls who did jaw surgery: 2 of us who did both mandible and zygoma.. the girl who only did mandible, went back to her original face shape but sharper looking at around 3 weeks post-op. She also got fat grafting on her forehead too but still looked totally gorgeous when she left Korea! On the other hand, me and the other girl who did not get any fat grafting but did zygoma and mandible is still very very swollen.

So please bear this in mind if you have work commitments etc you need to attend to back home.. not sure if it's just our bad luck, or totally because of the zygoma that recovery is taking this long..

Banobagi Nose update: looks pretty much the same as day 1 except it's maybe dropped about 0.01mm

Hey Joyanz,

I don't know much about accomocation prices there but we stayed at living-tel which costs 125,000won a week! Forget about paying 70,000 a night! I've already left Korea but my friend is there for another week. I will get the number for you if you like.

We all got different quotes because the price varies depending on what you do for your jaw cos there's other things to consider in the price like buccal/fat/mandible muscle reducation etc etc

Nose was about 2900,000won for all of us

No. From dream clinic. Full name is park yang soo. Dr park speaks great english but the other doctors and staff not so much but pretty ok for the doctors. Sometimes it was REALLYhard to communicate with the nurses. Those that saw me earlier this week know that I'm not totally helpless in korean.

Haha that was my first reaction when I saw myself. Omg! Too pretty, I look like a girl! My tip is waaaaaay high right now. I wanted it raised way high and I think it's being compressed with tape to get the skin to adhere to the smaller cartilage. I'm pretty surprised he got it as high as it looks without making me look like a pig.

Btw I'm american mixed caucasian and hispanic.

No problem.

I think if you add a high bridge, they all seem to look like bars to me. For me, i only added 2mm so it looks very natural.. And its subtle.. (too subtle, lol) im afraid to get a higher bridge bc i dont want it to be obvious. Ayeeee *headache*
